Chapter 77: Chapter 77

Chapter 77 Good Riddance

PAMELA'S POV

"Off to feed the King Alpha more of your potions?" I asked with my right brows raised.

"What are you talking about, Pamela?" She asked.

I should say, she was just a great actress. I let out a scoff and rolled my eyes.

"How long are you going to put up with that act? Aren't you getting tired of pretending?" I asked, crossing my arms across my chest.

"Seriously, Pamela. I don't know what you are talking about," she replied.

"You don't?" I asked.

She shook her head and gave me a questioning look in her eyes.

"Do you seriously want me to believe that? If you think you can fool me, then you have a whole new thing coming. I can see right through your facade, Maia. You better stop now and confess everything before your sins bury you over 6 feet under the ground," I said.

"If you are just bored, go find yourself something productive that you could do. Stop wasting my time," she replied before leaving.

I was burning holes behind her back as she walked away from me.

'You want to make this the hard way, huh? Then I will give you the hard way,' I said in my head.

I went straight to my room and started planning out. Instead of waiting for the perfect timing, I will make the timing perfect.

After laying out the perfect bait for Maia, I took an early rest so that I have enough energy for the following day.

Needless to say, I woke up to an amazing day. First, I received news that Lucius was heading to the neighboring pack for a meeting regarding rogue problems. That meant Lucius and Neal were gone, leaving the great Maia all by herself.

'It looks like the gods are in our favor,' Ella commented.

'I told you, today is going to be the perfect day,' I replied.

I hurried to the bathroom and prepared myself for the day. Once I was presentable enough, I immediately took out all the iron items I had hidden in my room and carefully placed them behind some items.

Placing all my traps around my room took longer than I had expected. Who knew that it would have taken me two and a half hours hiding iron in every nook and cranny of my room?

Once I was satisfied with the setup, I called the useless Omega, who was assigned to me. After an eternity, she has finally arrived.

"Lady Pamela, you requested for me?" She asked, bowing the way I taught her to.

"What took you so long? What if it was an emergency? I could have died and you are still on your way here," I exclaimed.

"I am sorry, Lady Pamela. I was in the middle of having a shower when they informed me," she replied, apologizing.

"Go and get Maia. Tell her I want to have a chat with her," I ordered.

"The Queen Luna?" She asked, looking surprised.

"Yes. Is there another Maia in the palace?" I snapped.

"No, Lady Pamela. I will inform Queen Luna right away," she replied, leaving the room.

After a couple of minutes, I heard a knock on my door and I heard the Omega's voice informing me of the witch's arrival.

"Come in," I said.

The door opened and the first face I saw was Maia's.

"You called for me, Lady Pamela?" She asked.

"Please, come in," I said, plastering a fake smile on my face.

She walked towards me, and I motioned for her to have a seat.

I gave a curt nod to the lazy Omega, and she left the room, closing the door behind her.

"Is there something you wanted to talk to me about?" She asked right away.

"Let's get down to business, then. Shall we?" I replied.

I tried to read her face, but she wasn't giving away anything.

"Would you like some tea?" I asked, trying to divert her thoughts.

"It would be rude of me to say no," she replied.

I smiled at her as I poured her the freshly brewed tea I made with a mix of iron.

"Knock yourself out," I said with a smile.

She took the cup, and I watched her closely as she took a sip. I almost smiled when I saw her brows furrowed afterwards.

"Is there a problem? Would you like to add some sugar?" I asked.

"If I may ask, what kind of tea is this?" She asked.

I had to bite my inner cheek to stop myself from laughing. She was so stupid.

"You know, for a Queen Luna, you sure are so stupid," I said with a smirk plastered on my face.

She looked at me, confused, as I stood up from my chair and slowly walked around.

"Did I not tell you I will prove to everyone that you are a witch?" I asked, more like stated.

"How many times do I have to tell you I am not a witch?" She asked.

"You can keep telling that to yourself because any minute now, the iron will kick in and poof. You won't be able to use your spells," I said with a laugh.

"You put iron in the tea?" She asked.

Oh, the look on her face was so priceless. This was what I had been waiting for all my life - the look of defeat.

"Surprise!" I exclaimed, smiling at her.

"Are you that stupid to put iron in tea? Do you have any idea what it will do to one's body?" She asked.

"Oh, I know everything. Just like how silver affects werewolves, iron does the same to witches," I said.

"Are you not hearing yourself? Witches? Witches don't exist. They have been extinct for over 5 years now," she replied.

"You can keep telling yourself that, but I don't believe you," I said.

Soon enough, she started getting dizzy and then, a couple of seconds later; she was throwing up blood.

"Everyone has their own weaknesses. Unfortunately for you, I found yours." I scoffed.

"Help me, please. I am not a witch. Please," she begged.

I kept laughing at her and her weak attempts at getting me to believe her.

"You know, you should just stop now. It is over, Maia. Accept your fate because you will never be the Queen Luna. NEVER!" I spat.

"Why do you even think that I am a witch? What made you think that?" She mumbled.

"Oh, you see, since you are almost at your death sentence, let me enlighten you with the facts. I saw what you did during the full moon. The way you reached out to that hideous beast, only a witch can do that. You may have fooled them, but not me," I explained.

"When will you ever stop with that stupid thoughts? I could calm him down because I am his mate. Not because I am a witch, you stupid," she said, wiping the blood on the corner of her mouth.

"You can keep telling that to yourself, bitch," I spat.

"I don't have to prove anything to you. We both know that we are mates and that is more than enough. If you don't believe me, it's not my problem anymore," she mumbled.

I walked closer to her and held her by the hair when I saw her mark. My eyes widened in shock.

"He marked you?" I asked, my voice was barely a whisper.

"That is what I have been trying to tell you, dumbass," she spat.

The smell of her blood pulled me out of my shock and I stared at her pale face.

"Tell me you are lying. Tell me!" I yelled.

"Why would I even lie?" She asked while catching her breath.

I could hear her heartbeat becoming faint by the second.

"No! He wouldn't do this to me. This can't be possible. No," I mumbled.

This had to be some kind of joke. It was heartbreaking, and I didn't want to believe it.

"Pamela, please help me," she mumbled, begging as she lay on the floor.

Before I knew it, the door was suddenly knocked down, and I saw Lucius running his way towards Maia while I was on the floor with tears flowing down my face.

"What have you done to my mate?" He growled.

I had never feared for my life the same way I felt fear at that moment.
