Chapter 51: Chapter 51
Chapter 51 Beast!
PAMELA'S POV
I tried to gather as much information as possible about who that bitch really was. Unfortunately, either no one in the castle knew or simply no one wanted to talk. Ever since Lucius started going back to work, he would only be in two places - his office during the day and that bitch's room during the night. Just thinking about it made me furious. Why was he so obsessed with her?
While sitting on my balcony, having my after-lunch tea, there was a knock on my door. I got up from my seat and checked on who was on the other side.
"Are you here to talk about going home again? Because I am telling you right now that I am not leaving this castle, no matter what." I exclaimed as soon as I opened the door.
"Actually, no, Lady Pamela. I am here to inform you that your father is going to have a meeting with the King Alpha this afternoon." He said.
My eyes immediately sparkled.
"What time is my father coming?" I asked, trying to hide the excitement.
"He has a meeting with King Alpha at 3 in the afternoon. I assume he will be here before that." He replied.
"Okay. Thank you for informing me." I said, before closing the door to his face.
I was still mad at him.
'I wonder why Daddy is coming? Is Lucius going to tell him about that side chick he calls his mate?' I wondered.
As I sat thinking about the reason for Daddy's visit, I could not help but feel sleepy. I got up from my seat and laid down on my bed.
'Daddy won't be here for at least a couple of hours. I can still take a nap and wake up before he arrives.' I thought to myself as I pulled up the covers.
As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light. Since I had been trying to gather as much information as I could regarding that she-wolf, I had neglected my afternoon naps and proper sleep.
When I woke up from my nap, I almost jolted out of bed when I saw it was half-past four.
"Shoot! I overslept." I cursed under my breath.
I hurriedly got out of bed and fixed myself to look presentable before heading to Lucius' office. When I just got in the elevator, an idea popped into my head. A smirk made its way on my face as I pressed the floor level that I wanted to go to.
"Time for a brief detour," I said to no one in particular.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, I hurriedly entered the room that I was so forbidden to even get close to. The first thing my eyes landed on was the countless paintings near the balcony. The longer I stared at every single piece, the more mesmerized I got by her gift for painting. After a few minutes of staring at her masterpieces, I shook my head as I refocused on the sole reason I was in her room.
What better way to get onto Lucius' nerves than wearing his beloved she-wolf's clothes?
I opened her wardrobe and saw many dresses. My eyes landed on a blue off-shoulder dress. I immediately took it and took a quick look all over it before changing the dress that I was wearing. I could not believe how beautiful the dress was.
'Her, out of all people, is getting such treatment? Huh! She does not deserve such quality dresses. I do!' I scoffed as I stared at my reflection in the mirror.
After giving myself the proper praises I should receive, I quietly exited her room and went straight to Lucius' office. Thankfully, the guards did not stop me from entering his office. They simply opened the doors and waited for me to enter.
I took a deep breath before I entered his office. Daddy was the first one to notice my presence.
While I was catching up with my dad, I noticed the dark look from Lucius. If I did not know him any better, I would have mistaken it for lust. If only looks could kill. I would have already died the moment I stepped foot in his office and I knew the reason - the dress that I was wearing. Dad asked me where I was and I had to lie to him about picking some cloth for the ceremony so that he would not question about the delay.
When Dad suggested I should return home with him, I knew I could not do that. The moment I leave, it would be harder for me to get to Lucius. After catching up with Dad, he said that he had to leave so that he would get home early. As much as I wanted to go back home with him, I put out a strong face and bid goodbye to him.
Once dad left, I noticed Lucius heading back to his office. I ran after him, hoping to talk to him.
"Lucius!" I shouted across the hallway.
He stopped by the door while his hands were gripping on the doorknob.
"Are you seriously going to ignore me? Now what? We're just going to lie to my father about everything?" I asked.
I was getting furious.
He glared at me and said, "You lied to him, not me," stressing on the 'You' part.
Before I even had time to process it, he slammed the door shut in my face and left me standing outside his office, dumbfounded.
'What the fuck?'
I stormed off to my room and threw the first thing my hand touched, which was the vase that was sitting on the table.
"Aaarrrggghhh!" I screamed as I threw the vase across the room, filling the room with the crashing sound.
"I hate you! And I promise I will make you pay for stealing what's mine!" I said, my words full of hatred and poison.
I tore the dress that I was wearing to release some of the anger that I felt. Once I tore the dress into shreds, I collapsed on the floor as I let my tears flow down my face.
A couple of days passed, and I did not leave my bedroom. I was too mad about what happened and the fact that he was still thinking about her, even though it had been 5 months since she left, made me more pissed off. Why was he giving her so much of his time and mind?
As I sat on my bed, I was reading a book to pass time, hoping it would help me sleep. Thankfully, the peaceful night and the full moon that shone above my balcony slowly put me to sleep. I had just closed my eyes when I suddenly heard a furious growl. It was so loud that I felt my bed shake.
I grabbed the blanket and pulled it up to my chin as I shook under the covers in fear.
'What is that noise? Where is it coming from?' I asked myself.
I was about to get out of my bed when I heard the growling again.
'RAWWWRR!!!!'
When I felt like it was going to stop growling, I carefully got out of bed and tiptoed outside my room. It surprised me that there were no guards posted outside my door. I followed where the sound was coming from until it led me to the dungeons.
With trembling hands, I slowly opened the door to where all the scary roars were coming from. Even with its back on me, I had a feeling who it was, yet I kept quiet.
"Lady Pamela, what are you doing here?" Neal asked.
I stared at the creature for a couple of minutes, completely shocked and speechless. I only snapped out of my shock when the beast growled again and this time, it was walking towards me as if I was his prey.
I took careful steps backwards until my back hit the wall.
'Oh, my gosh! This is it. I'm going to be eaten by this beast,' I cried in my head.
The beast was a couple of feet away from me when it suddenly jumped in front of me, closing the space between us.
"RRRAAAAWWWWRRRR!" He growled in my face.
