Chapter 49 Opportunities

PAMELA'S POV

When I heard about that bitch's disappearance, I couldn't help but be happy.

"Finally! It's about goddamn time she realizes her place." I scoffed at her bare thought.

With this sudden great news, I rushed to my closet and took out the best dress I had. I need to get dressed at my best when I see him. When Lucius would spot me, he would fall head over heels for me.

When he told me that she was his mate, I did not believe him. I still didn't believe that lie. It was impossible that that slut was his mate. I forbid myself to believe it.

"Call one of the omegas and tell her to hurry up," I instructed one of the guards standing on my door.

While I waited for the omega to arrive, I went to my vanity and took out my makeup kit. I started retouching my makeup while the omega was still on her way. One thing I hated was that it took them forever to get here.

Finally, after waiting for a century, there was a knock on the door.

"This is the time you are coming, I called you earlier..." I yelled when the door opened.

"I am sorry, Lady Pamela." She apologized.

"Ugh! Stop calling me Lady Pamela. I am the future Queen Luna. It's time that you get used to it." I snapped at her.

"Apologies." She said,

I rolled my eyes as I shook my head.

"Just get in here and help me get ready. Already wasted my time." I grunted and waited for her to do the rest of the things.

She hurriedly went to my side and waited for my further instructions.

Finally! After half an hour, I already looked presentable and ready to blow Lucius' mind.

"Follow me. Make sure that my dress will not get dirty or stuck in the elevator. Every slot will earn you ten beatings, so make no mistake." I hissed at the omega.

I saw her shudder in fear as I passed by her.

As soon as I opened the door, the guards were already on alert.

"Where are we heading, Lady Pamela?" One guard asked me.

"To the King Alpha," I announced as I passed by them.

"Lady Pamela! Please wait. King Alpha is busy right now." The other guard replied while running after me.

I stopped in front of the elevator and looked at him.

"I am the future Queen Luna of this pack. If I say that I will go to the King Alpha, I will. If you dare to stop me, I will have you beheaded." I warned them.

They looked at each other and gulped.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, I entered the lift with the poor omega behind me.

I did not dare wait for the guards and immediately closed the doors. After a couple of minutes, the elevator stopped, and the doors opened. At last, I would see my Lucius again.

When I reached the door of his office, the guards stopped me. I rolled my eyes and placed my hands on my hips.

"What are you going to tell me this time? That he is busy? He is in a meeting? Did he instruct not to be disturbed? For fuck's sake, I am his mate! I am your future Queen Luna, yet you are stopping me from seeing my mate? This is ridiculous. I should have all of you beheaded!" I yelled at them.

At this point, I just lost it. It got tiring when the same thing was being told to you repeatedly. I just had enough of this shit and these things needed to get straightened.

The guards looked at each other, then their gaze went to me. I raised my eyebrows at them as I waited for their replies.

"Lady Pamela, the King Alpha, is not in his office." One guard said in a soft voice.

I let out an annoyed sigh and glared at him.

"Did I not tell you to stop lying to me? You have already said that shitty excuse. Don't you have another one?" I snapped at them.

"I'm sorry, but we are not lying Lady Pamela," he informed.

"I am so done with all your lies. Get out of my way." I shouted as I pushed them and made my way to the door.

To say that I was shocked was an understatement. I was astounded.

"Where the hell is he?" I asked, furiously.

"We don't know, Lady Pamela." the other guard replied.

"What is your purpose if you don't even know where your King Alpha is?" I jabbed at them.

They gulped in fear and stared at me.

"I am asking you where he is?!" I yelled in frustration.

"I... We. Uhm.." They all uttered.

"Goddamn it! Are you mute or are you deaf?" I yelled again.

Asking them about Lucius was useless. There were two other places where he could be. So, I dashed to the elevator and headed to his room. The omega was hot on my heels as well. Good! Or else I might have lashed everything out at her.

When we reached the floor where his room was located, I almost ran in excitement. I threw a disgusting look at the bitch's room when I passed by it but immediately stopped in my tracks when Lucius' scents hit my nose.

'What the hell? Don't tell me he is sulking in her room?!' I exclaimed in my head.

I slowly went back to the front of her door and sniffed the air. When I was about to open the door, a hand stopped me. I looked to check and saw that it was Neal. He shook his head as he slowly pulled my hand away from the doorknob.

"Please, allow the King Alpha to sulk on his own. He just lost his mate and is in deep grief." He said in a low voice, leading me to the elevator.

When the doors opened, he motioned for me to get it. I dumbfoundedly followed his instructions with that omega behind me. I was too shocked to process what just happened.

Neal assisted me back to my room. When he was about to leave, I stopped him.

"Why is he sulking about that bitch? She is nothing but a useless she-wolf. Why cry over that selfish and insensitive bitch of a wolf?" I asked but my voice was filled with so much hatred for her.

"Lady Pamela, this is not my mess to meddle with, but I will tell you a couple of facts that hopefully will help you see things differently. One, she is not a bitch. Goddess forbid, you keep calling her that name when she was nothing but a graceful woman like you. Second, she is not just anybody. When King Alpha said that she was his mate, he was telling the truth. Maia is the future Queen Luna of the pack and its members. She has been staying away from you since she was aware of you being King Alpha's chosen mate. Even though she had every right to demand what belonged to her, she never did. Instead, she even gave way for you to have what was once promised to you, even if it meant staying away from her mate. Lastly, I am almost certain that you were aware of this possibility before you agreed to be his chosen mate. You knew that one of you meeting your real mate is inevitable, yet you still agreed. If it was you in his position, wouldn't you have left him right there and then? What would you have done? That's all I have to say, Lady Pamela. Please stay away from King Alpha's quarters and Queen Luna's room. Allow him to mourn for his loss. His wolf is in pain. Be human enough to let them process it properly. I'll take my leave now." he snapped before leaving me standing in the middle of my room, dumbfounded.
