Chapter 30: Chapter 30

Chapter 30 The Lake House

MAIA'S POV

Being outside the castle was very refreshing. I was surprised that Lucius agreed to let me go outside and, what more was that he even accompanied me.

We walked through the pathway in the forest until we arrived at the beautiful destination. There was a small house that had a lake behind it. It was such beautiful scenery.

"Come in. You can take a rest on the porch if you want. You can see the lake clearly from there." Lucius said, opening the door for me.

I entered the small house and looked around as I made my way to the living room.

"Whose house is this?" I asked.

"This was my parent's lake house. My mom enjoyed swimming in the lake every week. So, whenever she felt stressed out, or she saw that my Dad has been coping up with too much work, she would drag him here so that they could relax." he replied.

"She seems to be a fun person," I said, talking about his mom.

"She was. She was the life of the pack. There was never a dull moment in the castle when she was around. Everybody loved her." he replied, staring at the picture that he was holding.

I walked closer to him and looked at the picture he was holding.

It took me by surprise since the picture that he was holding was the same picture that was in my room.

'So he was telling the truth after all.' Avi commented.

'I guess so.' I said.

"She is very beautiful," I said, complimenting his mom.

"She would have loved you if you met her. I'm sure she would have told you a bunch of stories that would embarrass me and make fun of me together." He said.

Somehow, I felt a pang of pain when he said that. It sounded like he loved his Mom and losing her killed a part of him.

I looked at the picture frames on the bookshelf and noticed a particular picture. I took the frame and stared at it.

"Ah. The so-called family picture." He said, slightly scaring me.

I looked at it again and realized that it was a picture of his dad, mom, him, and Uriah.

"Is this Uriah?" I asked, pointing at the little boy that was being carried by their Dad.

"Yeah," he replied.

"Were you two close before you fell out?" I asked hesitantly.

"We were the perfect partner in crime tandem. We always had each other's backs, no matter what. Everything I had was his and vice versa." he replied, sitting down on the couch.

Even though I wanted to ask more about what happened, I didn't want to ponder on his business.

"Do you still come here now and then?" I asked, changing the topic.

He placed the picture back in its place and looked around.

"No. This is the first time I have been here ever since my parents died," he said.

"Why?" I asked, my curiosity spiking up again.

"There were too many memories of the whole family here. It was too much to bear." He replied.

"Thank you, Lucius," I said.

"For what?" he asked, looking at me.

"For bringing me to this place even though you know that being here can open up a room full of emotions you have been trying to forget or ignore," I explained.

"Uhm. Do you want to go to the porch? The view of the lake is better there." he asked, changing the topic.

"I would love to," I replied.

I followed him to the porch and was amazed by the view. He wasn't lying. It was such a beautiful view. There was a pathway that led to the lake.

Without any second thoughts, I followed the path and sat at the end of the plank, letting my feet touch the water.

I let out a happy sigh with a smile on my face. When I opened my eyes, I saw Lucius staring at me. I quickly hid my face in embarrassment.

"There is nothing you should be embarrassed about. If you want to have your privacy, I can go back to the house and let you soak everything in peace." He suggested.

"No. It's okay." I managed to reply without any stutters.

We sat there staring at the beautiful scenery in complete silence.

A couple of minutes later, Lucius broke the silence by suggesting something.

"Would you like to go for a swim? The water is at the perfect temperature. It's not too cold, and it's not too warm." He asked.

Before I could even think it through, my excited self answered.

"Yes, I would love that!" I exclaimed.

I wanted to facepalm myself when I heard him chuckle.

'Stupid self!' I scolded myself.

He started removing his clothes by the dock and I couldn't help myself but stare at him. I was ogling him shamelessly. I quickly hid my face when he caught me staring at him.

"No need to shy away from what's yours. You can stare at my body whenever you please." He said, making my heart flutter.

'Damn you and your horniness, Avi!' I scolded my wolf.

She has been feeding me all the sexual thoughts that she wanted to do to Lucius.

With nothing but his boxers, he jumped into the lake, causing water to splash all over.

"Come on. The water is nice. You wouldn't want to miss this." He said, calling me out in the water.

I finally gave in and stood up. Although I did not bring any extra clothes with me, I decided to do it, anyway. I turned around and removed my dress, leaving me in my underwear and bra. With my hands covering my breast and stomach, I stood at the edge of the dock.

"Come on. There are no sharks or alligators that are going to eat you." He said.

I took a deep breath and jumped into the Lake. I was immediately greeted with arms that were wrapped around me.

"I got you." He said.

His being this close to me when we barely have any clothes on was driving many sexual thoughts to my brain. I could feel sparks all over my body and my hands on his chest were adding more heat.

We stared at each other's eyes as he slowly inched his face closer to mine until we were just centimeters apart. I could feel his hot breath on my face as his eyes roamed all over my face. I was almost certain that Avi got in my head when I closed the gap between the two of us.

At first, the kiss was slow but filled with so much emotion. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I begged to be closer than possible. If it wasn't for his arms that were supporting me and my legs wrapped around his waist, I would have fallen deep into the lake.

Even though the water was cold, I was feeling hot all over. I didn't know if it was because of the kiss or was it the burning sensation that I was feeling down there. The need was becoming stronger that I wasn't sure if I could resist any more.

We were kissing in the middle of the lake as if our lives depended on it. How we stayed afloat was left unknown to me. We only pulled back to take a breath as we were breathless.

He leaned his forehead on mine while his hands roamed all over my back. I kept my eyes closed as I evened my breathing, also because I was embarrassed by what I had just done. He might have thought that I was some bipolar, horny she-wolf.

I wanted to get down from him and just hide my face away, but his grasp on me was tight as if he never wanted to let me go.

"I'm starting to get cold." I lied. My voice was barely above a whisper.

"Let's get you inside, then. I'll start up a fire to get you all warmed up," he said.

I thought that he was going to let go of me. Instead, he carried me to the dock and lifted me so that I was sitting on the plank. Then he lifted himself before running off to the house.

I stared at the sun that was about to set with my arms wrapped around me. A few minutes later, a towel was enveloped around me.

"Let's get you inside. I already lit up the fire," he said, rubbing my arms.

"Can we watch the sunset first?" I asked, staring at the sun.

He paused for a second.

"Okay," he said, pulling me close to him with his arms wrapped around me.

At that moment, I felt like everything was perfect. I was able to forget all my worries and troubles. That night, it was just me, him, and the sunset - the beautiful sunset.
