Chapter 47: Chapter 47
“Are you sure about this?”
Greyson raises up his neck from the position and Sebastian drags him down.
“Stay hidden and quiet. We know that you are worried but you will risk her life at this rate. Hers and your child.”
Finn’s words tries to calm Greyson down and it brings a big win the the other side watching them.
“Okay, you can come out now.”
Davina’s eyes skims through the forest as she places her hands on her hips and her back to the abandoned warehouse.
“I am tired of playing. Did you bring my doppelganger as the ransom I asked for?”
Greyson doesn’t try to stand up again, no one does. They are hiding behind a bush with a very clear view on the female fey as she speaks.
“You didn’t bring guards right? I hate to have told you guys something and you didn’t obey it. You know what the cost is right? Gwen’s head on a platter and then I take the kid for myself.”
The males in hiding becomes uneasy and Finn nods at Sebastian as if they have a plan already… they are the only people who came to ‘fetch’ Gwen. Sebastian isn’t going to take any risks with his sister in that female’s dirty hands.
Sebastian stands to his feet and at the same time, various images of Sebastian appears too, all identical to him in every way and all movements the same.
“Where is my sister, Davina.”
All the Sebastian’s voice echoes in harmony as they all narrow their eyes at one person.
“Oh, your sister’s name is Davina? Wow, my name is Davina too.”
“Cut the crap, give me my sister and come with us.”
“To do what? Cure your little mate. Nah, I’m good. She is the one who put me in that mess in the first place.”
“Don’t talk to me about mess when you created one you can’t even stand up to.” Sebastian says… all of them speak.
“I could kill you right now but this is less fun, it’s more of a job. That’s why I am going to be quick.” She nods and Sebastian ignores what she says as he can barely understand it.
Finn shares a hand gesture with Greyson and they nod at each other, really to follow when the timing is right but as they stand, Davina appears in front of them and swings a bat at Greyson’s head.
He falls like a pile of log and this immediately catches the others attention but they don’t have the time to react, she gives them each their own swing of the bat.
“Nighty night, suckers.”

“You know that what you want to do is dangerous and not advisable by me. You will have a very-”
“I know what I am putting myself into and I also know who I am giving my chances at life to.” Estella looks up at the woman she calls the Moon Goddess. “You told me that she has an important role to play in all of this. That’s why you chose me, that’s why you chose us.”
“Yes, but now what you ask of me is suicide. It goes against my laws, my rules that I have managed to uphold.” The Moon Goddess says all these as her eyes watches the female parading close to Minerva’s bed.
“Everything’s just happening so fast.” Estella says, “They have been taken by now and it won’t take long for them to get killed or worst- do you want your greatest creations to get killed?”
“No, especially not my daughter.” The Moon Goddess narrows her eyes and Estella sighs.
“I am your blood. I can find a way around it, or you can tell Fate to help out after I get into the spell.” Estella looks for every means she can get.
“Fate is a hard man to bend. We can find another person, someone who is more accepting to die, to be stuck like this.”
The Moon Goddess eyes moves to Minerva and it softens. Minerva can hear everything that they are saying and as they continue to speak, things become much more clearer for her.
“We don’t have that kind of time, mom!” Estella screams in frustration and walks to hold the arms of her mother.
Her mother who can’t stand to see everything go on as it should be.
“This is my fate, my destiny and I am not going to stand here and let you stop me. I know that you are angry, you’re hurting but please… please let me do this.”
The mother shakes her head in denial as the daughter tries to reason with her.
“Let me help them. They are my people too.”
Their forehead is then placed on each others as tears flows down their cheeks.
“But this isn’t your burden. We can always make new people, a new society.”
Estella pulls back slowly and looks at her mother while she cleans off the tears on her mother’s cheek.
“When I was younger you told me that there are some laws that you, yourself can’t break and I didn’t think much into it.” She laughs. “I was ten. But now I understand it and I am happy that I had a mom like you, even if you sent me to earth to secure your creations. I don’t care. I am happy that I have you, mom, that I will always have you.”
The Moon Goddess sucks in a breath and she reaches out for her daughter, her only child and Estella walks into her embrace with open arms as they saviour their last moment with each other.
“Can you do something for me, mom?”
“Anything, my love.” The Moon Goddess’s hands moves to her daughter’s face as they detach themselves from each other.
Estella’s heart warms as she feels her mother’s soft lips on her forehead, awaiting her final request.
“When I become as Minerva… when you do this, leave me here, with them.”
Her mother doesn’t question her, she only nods and slowly, very slowly, just as she is been forced to. She places a kiss on her daughter’s forehead.
It is sudden, not painful, neither is it full of excitement. Estella feels nothing but magic flowing into her body and for once in a long time, Minerva’s body shoots up the same time that Estella falls to the ground, her now dull eyes on her sobbing mother.
The once happy and stern Moon Goddess is sobbing for her child, her only blood child. Estella never could imagine her sob at all. That’s the thought that runs through her head before her mind blanks, leaving only tears to flow down softly.
The Moon Goddess has lost her kid but she sucks in a breath, reminding herself that her daughter wouldn’t want her to be this way. Her daughter wants her to be strong.
The tears-cheek stained mother turns to Minerva who can’t move her shocked eyes from Estella.
“You transferred the spell…” Minerva can’t form another word.
“Yes, I gave the spell to my daughter as she requested.” In a second, the Moon Goddess turns back to the one Minerva first met, the only thing that remains is the proof of crying on her face.
The tears on her cheeks…
“You don’t need me to explain anything to you, Minerva. Just try to ‘think fast’. I don’t want my daughter’s death to be in vain.”
“It won’t and she isn’t dead. You know that…” Minerva doesn’t know what else to say as her eyes move to her sister on the far away couch. “Is my sister going to wake up soon?’
“She will awaken when I leave. Tell her to take good care of my daughter.”
With that being said, The Moon Goddess slowly fades into thin air while staring at her daughter, laying still on the ground.
“My beautiful daughter.”
As she fades completely, Asteria eyes opens and she gasps, sitting up from where she is kept. Minerva’s next thought is to get Estella to the bed and when her sister sees her trying to do this, her eyes widen.
“You’re alive, Minerva. You’re alive!”
Asteria rushes to Minerva and embraces her tightly, pushing Minerva’s face into her clothes. Minerva pats her sister’s head softly and surprisingly, her sister begins to cry.
She pulls back and looks down at her heavily pregnant sister. “Can you do something for me, Asteria.”
Her sister sniffs, fighting back her tears as she nods.
“Good, so the only reason I am moving is because of Estella. She traded places with me and it turns out that her mum is the Moon Goddess.”
Her sister stares at her like she has suddenly gotten a double head.
“Yes. I know that it is crazy and I wish that I have more time to explain but they are all in danger and I have to go save them. I will explain later.” Minerva tries to stand up on her feet but her sister drags her back down.
“You don’t have a plan.”
“I will make one on the way. There is no time to waste and more of that time wastes with me still being here.”
“I know,” Her sister tightens her grasp on Minerva’s wrist in a squeeze. “Davina made a bargain for me in place of Gwen. They didn’t let me go with them and as they left I put a barrier over the castle. No one can come in or go out.”
“The Moon Goddess came in here, and she left.” Minerva’s eyes moves. “Is it because she is greater than your powers?”
“I am not sure but I will double it once you step out and I will also take care of Estella for you.”
Minerva nods at her little sister’s words as she stands on her feet and rushes to the door.
“Wait.” Her sister calls back and she stops. “Minerva, you’re not a fey or a wolf now. You’re a human.”
Minerva haven’t been thinking of that aspect she has to face. She barely knows how to face it. “I’ll find a way.”
They nod at each other and then she takes off in a sprint, passing the once lively halls, the hallways that people always wanted to mingle but now a gloomy castle stands in place and she can feel it in her bones that it will get worst if she stays any longer.
She stops when she gets closer to the barrier covering the castle and though she can’t see it, she feels it. It opens slowly and she passes through the little space and it quickly closes behind her as she keeps running.
The destination keeps ringing in her ears as words. The life at stake here. The meaning of what she is about to do.
She doesn’t know how she is going to do it as a human right now but she will find a way. She has to.
Her feet stops immediately she arrives and she notices how quiet the place is. The small forest surrounding it makes it eerie but the abandoned warehouse almost looks like the one Estella took her to except that this one is at the outskirt of the kingdom. She can’t believe that she ran all the way here but when she comes face to face with a bat and it comes wood to skin with her chin… oh, she believes now.
