Chapter 36: Chapter 36

The next thing I do is celebrate.

“I knew it, I knew it! The psycho was a supernatural after all and a fey for crying out loud.”

I get no response except for an arched eyebrow from the newest fey in town.

“You don’t look too surprised, Minerva,” She smirks, “You were expecting the unexpected all along.” Okay, she responds in words too.

“So you and the king had everyone fooled all this while,” Estella voices out, she then leans in to me and whispers, “Is this one of your glamour stuff too? I had a lot of time to waste at that time but we need to leave here now.”

Estella looks around in haste and grabs my arm but I pull her back.

“This is not a glamour, Estella. If it is then it isn’t mine,” I mutter and look up at the new found fey and the annoying butt of a king.

“You planned all this just to do what… get back at me for not accepting to be your baby mama. I mean, you even hired a fey for the job.”

I gesture to Grace and she maintains her smile.

“Actually, I am the one who hired, or may I say, pulled a few strings on the king to get the band here.”

Grace pushes her lips back, revealing her teeth as she grimaces.

“Are you sure that there is no cocaine in the air,” I take a step forward and examine the environment.

“Frankly, I’ve always thought that your sister is the the smartest one among you two. I still do.”

I nod in agreement.

“That’s true and I get why you would think that but how did you know her.”

Grace doesn’t make a move to answer, my sister does instead.

“She’s my evil double.”

“Your evil double? Isn’t that supposed to be me?” I squint at no one in particular as I tilt my head sideways.

“We will catch up on the details later,” She waves it off, “You, Davina need to leave. You can step out of here without any arguments, bloodshed or violence.”

“Davina?” I wiggle my nose at the psycho’s direction, “Is that like an act name. What else do you have that is fake.”

I take a step forward, only to step in to my sister’s outstretched arm, stopping me from going any further.

When I look up at her she still has her eyes on Grace. I don’t understand what’s going on but as Estella’s gasp reach my ears, I glance up to see the face of my sister staring back at me.

Confusion slips in to me as I look by my side, staring at Asteria and when I look forward, there is still another one. All I can do is nod like I understand, I actually don’t.

“So you are Davina, a doppelganger like in the vampire diaries? That’s super cool,” I grin, “Are you from the vampire diaries?”

“Get in the car, Minerva,” Asteria- my sister yells in a whisper and pushes me close to the shiny car they came with. Slowly, in the darkness, I feel people gather round us in a circle, trapping us and I notice that the rest observe it too.

When I see the evil grin on my sister double’s face, I lean back to my sister and say, “I didn’t know you had a serious case of the creeps.”

This time her mate answers for her.

“She doesn’t.”

**** **** **** ****

My legs can’t stop moving on the spot for the past hour.

“We could have just gotten in to the car and drive past those guards.”

“You are suggesting that we could have done that to scare them,” My sister squints.

“I suggest that we could have done that to scare them,” I stand in the spot to answer her, “Or maybe killing them is the right word to say.”

“Your idea to run them over would have been very crucial. They are clearly been manipulated and controlled by Davina using her abilities.” The almighty king of feys answers.

“I know what you are trying to do and it isn’t working,” I squint at him and decide to finally sit down. He doesn’t heed whatever warnings I give off though.

“I think that you are using your transformation as a possible excuse to deny this but there is a clear chance that Sebastian has been under her control this whole time.

“That would explain why am I still here with you guys,” Gwen speaks up, catching our attention as flies, “My brother would never put me in harms way and right now… you looks like the ‘harm’ I am talking about.”

She looks up at me as she speaks from the place she lays, which is situated on the ground.

“Then you should know that you are in my way,” I smile, possibly in a creepy manner and she blinks at me before she glance away. I look away too but not just from her, my eyes focus on Sebastian the next second.

While we are stuck in a cell of both silver and iron bars, he is unfocused on our conversation but his eyes never leave me. His sullen and emotionless eyes.

“Are you considering what your sister’s mate said,” I feel a hot breath on the side of my face and the whisper freaks me out a bit.

“How did you get to this side of the cell without me knowing.”

Estella shrugs as she takes a seat beside me, “You were probably too lost on your thoughts about Sebastian- the king.”

“I wasn’t thinking about- well, yes, I was but-”

“You’re so lost and you don’t know what to do or what to believe. That’s okay,” She whispers making sure no one can hear us, “Being afraid is normal.”

“I am not afraid, Estella. Being scared and thinking over something are two different things,” I argue.

“Yes, but in your case they are similar because thinking over your situation makes you scared and what makes you scared is thinking over your situation. They go in different but similar ways,” She points out.

“When did you become a therapist?”

“When I have to help a friend out,” She shrugs again with a smile on her face.

“So you are now considering fey Minerva as your friend,” I smile too, raising a perfectly arched eyebrow.

“No, I consider all Minervas as my friend, whether you’re a fey or a werewolf.”

“How about a vampire?” I ask intensely and she grimace.

“We’ll make it work.” We end up laughing.

“Make what work?” Gwen asks from her part of the cell. It’s an open space but as long as she stays there, that’s her part.

“I never did know why you betrayed me but I am happy that you got stabbed in the back too<’ I smile and she sighs.

“I didn’t betray you, neither did I stab you in the back, Minerva. I was only tryi-”

“To protect me?” I stand up from my feet immediately, “From what exactly? What do I need protecting from!”

“From her, from Grace.”

Her tone makes me go silent when she stands on her feet.

“A few minutes after you left, she showed herself to me. She told me all she has planned for you and believe me when I say that it doesn’t sound nice.”

“No,” I shake my head at her, “You should believe me when I say m\that my plan for both of you will be more than ‘it doesn’t sound nice’ kind of plan.”

“Okay?” Estella holds my arm as she drags me back to sit down.

In the left corner, outside the cell, Sebastian chuckles loudly and successfully gains all our attention.

“You’re all about talk but you don’t bite.”

At his comment, I stand on my feet again, “You’re lucky that I am stuck in here, Sebby bastard.”

“Like I said,” He pushes himself off the wall, “You don’t have the guts to do s thing you have spoken.”

I smile coldly as he takes steps towards my side of the cell, I decide to take steps towards him too. “How are you so sure of that?”

“Minerva, don’t do anything stupid.”

My sister’s words pass through my ears and goes out of the other one.

When he gets as close to the bars as I want him to, I rush to him and he doesn’t shift back.

“You are brave, Sebby bastard. So very very brave.”

With my smile quickly wiped, I push my hand out of the space, grab his head and bash it on the bar. It shocks him with my speed and he groans, moving back as he holds his nose with a glare directed at me.

“I hope the poor guy isn’t broken. That would be really bad,” I pout, walking backwards until I locate my seat.

I wiggle my fingers at his direction, his annoyed face and sigh at his expected reaction. When I turn around, my sister is staring at me in pure astonishment.

“What?”

“That was so cool,” She giggles, only to earn a look from her mate and her cherry self disappears very quickly. “Aaand also reckless. If Davina- or as she calls herself, Grace is controlling hi-”

“Which we don’t have proof about,” I point out and she continues.

“It could be dangerous to annoy the controlee, which is Sebastian,” She gestures to the said person who is busy trying to fix his broken nose.

He puts it back in place with a snap and turns to me with a sick smile on his face.

“Don’t worry, you’ll get your proof. Starting right now.”

That sick smile isn’t enough for him. He bends the long bars apart so his body can pass through and when he is inside the cell, he bends them back in place.

I know how much the iron in those bars affect my sister and Cyprus but they have been trying their best to hide it , even as they stand on their feet with their cautious eyes on Sebastian. Funny to say, but all of us stand on our feet.

“Those aren’t just any type of bars so if you try to do what I did, you’re not just gonna break a nail.”

With the way he tilts his head, I become creeped out.

“What do you what?”

“That is a simple question but it has a complex answer,” He says, “I want the whole world and now thinking about it, that’s actually a simple answer.”

He smiles at me still, even though I don’t understand a word he says, at least I don’t fully understand.

Suddenly, he slopes on the floor in an odd position and I walk to see if he is dead.

“Is it bad that I prayed for him to drop dead once and now, he is dead. That’s so cool,” I giggle in excitement and everyone looks at me strangely.

“What? I am only saying good things… I guess.”

And just like that- suddenly, the Sebastian resurrects back, making Gwen and Estella take a huge step back.

I don’t know if I am the only one who feels it but the air gets a whole lot lighter than it was before. His blue eyes barely move away from me, even as I sit back down.

“Minerva,” There’s something about his breathless whisper that makes me lean closer to his direction but I stop myself before I can go anymore closer.

He slowly stands to his feet and I squint at him, “Is this the part that you threaten to kill me and I kill you instead.”

“What?” He appears confused, “Why would I threaten you.”

“Because you are a bastard who only cares about himself and you do that a lot,” I let out a laugh as he takes several step towards me.

Immediately, I made a sharp blade from thin air and point it in his direction.

“If you take a step closer, I will kill you.”

“If this is about me not showing you my wolf form yesterday then I get it. You are mad at me but I can fix this,” He holds his hand up in surrender and I stand up again, annoyed at his choice of words.

He takes a step backwards when I move closer with the blade still in my palm.

“Hey, hey. Calm down, Minerva.”

My sister rushes to me and holds my hands down, “At least we now have proof that he was controlled.”

“Or it’s just an act,” I say and notice when she begins to lean in to me

With a glare at the stupid male, I make the blade vanish and take my sister back to her mate.

He cradles her immediately and she something about him treating her as a child as her eyes close slowly.

“I am going out my energy to her. She will be alright,” The green eyed male of hers assures me and I watch my sister snuggle closer to him.

“Doing that will only make you vulnerable,” I say.

“But it will protect her and give her and you time to find a way out of here.”

The way his eyes turns to Sebastian as a hint makes me recoil. I know what he is suggesting.

Sebastian got in to here by just bending a bar while all of us have been trying to do something that will get us out of here.

Werewolf strength and magic didn’t work and I am not going to risk my energy working on helpless stuffs. I have two werewolf and two feys to give it to, if things turn bad.

Looking at Gwendolyn’s limp body on the ground, Estella’s body curled up by the wall with her arms wrapped around her leg; my sister and Cyprus huddled with each other as close as possible. It turns out that things will turn worst in minutes if I don’t at least try.

“Minerv-”

“You did a pretty good job by added seats in this cell,” I turn to the shitty mate I was given, “But that isn’t important. I will discard whatever urge I have to kill you… for now. We have to find a way out of here.”

“Okay, we are going to get out of here after you tell me what I did wrong.”

“Are you freaking serious? You’re asking me what you did wrong!” I laugh, “You imprison me with silver for months then you mark someone else and I couldn’t even reject you because you put an alpha command on me.”

As I rant out forced down feelings, I walk towards him with a glare on my face.

“I am sorry bu-”

“I didn’t tell you to reply, Sebastian,” I spit out his name in rage, “Yes, I know you were under a freaking spell. I felt it leave the moment you fainted.”

“Then you should understa-”

“No,” I rush to him as I step closer, “You should understand that I don’t want to hear it. You’re the wolf king, aren’t you supposed to be immune to things like this. How the hell did you meet the psycho girl anyways?”

“Minerva!” I turn to see Cyprus draining up as he grits his teeth in my direction, “Now is not the time.”

“Yeah, yeah. You’re right,” I turn back to Sebastian, “You have to get us out of here or they are going to die.”

His eyes grazes past everyone in the cell. “I’m on it.”

After he spares a glance at me, the next thing he does is expected. He holds down the bars and pulls on it. From my angle it doesn’t look like it’s working.

“What are you doing?” I walk towards him, placing my hand on him as I push him back and I almost freeze.

It is the first time in a while that I have touched him in a non violent manner… I think. He notices it too.

I look at the bars he shifted to come in here and point at them.

“Those two. That was you ticket in, it should be ours out and this time don’t pull on it.”

I move away and he takes my spot to bend on the bar. “It’s not working. I can’t bend it.”

I nod, finally understanding, “It’s magical. She had planned to do all these and it almost worked- almost.”

Sebastian lets out a chuckles as I place my palm on his shoulder . “You haven’t changed a bit, Minerva. It reminds me of how much I have given yo-”

“Given me what?” I ask when he pause but I shake it off, “I will pass my energy to you and you’re going to use that to break these bars.”

“You sound scared,” As he says this he turns to me and I push him back to face the direction I want him to.

“I don’t sound scared, I should sound scary.”

Reaching out to my magic, I pull it out and direct it to him. My fingers tingle as magic pass through it and I watch him groan out, the silver and iron bars crack in his hands and he pulls them out with little effort.

I move away from him when he makes a space for us to pass through. He turns my way with a heavy breath, his eyes holding uncanny emotions.

“I’ll go get mys sister, you get the others out,’ He says.

I nod, “Do you know why we weren’t affected?’

“I was wondering that,” He pauses on his steps, “But we have much more pressing matters to attend to.”

As he walks to his sister’s way, I approach mine, squatting down while staring at the male who continues slipping little energy in to her.

“We need to get out of here now.”

At the same time Cyprus opens his eyes to stare at me, I hear footsteps coming my way. When I look at that direction, what I see slightly annoys me- slightly.

Grace- or may I say Davina, stands, looking smug with her real self out in the open. “Going somewhere?”

I really want to wipe that smug look off her face.

“You should be very known to where we are going, which is out of your hair.”

Cyprus helps my sister stand on her feet as Sebastian holds his sister in a bridal style while I walk to Estella and do the same as everyone is doing- I help her on her feet.

“I’m sorry but that’s not going to happen. You won’t leave this place in one piece and I am not ready to do as you please.”

“I don’t think you will ever be ready,” I say and make a sword out of thin air.

She smiles at my weapon and also bring out hers. It forms slowly, out of the air, making a blade and an odd looking one at that.

She points the reverse side at me and I drop Estella down carefully, keeping my ears deaf to my sister’s and Sebastian’s protest.

“It’s just me and you, little b-i-tch.” I flex my shoulders as she scowls at my choice of words.

Suddenly, a bat comes from nowhere and lands heavily on her head. It didn’t exactly land on her head, it was held by a certain someone and as she falls flat on the ground, her sword drops beside her and Greyson steps out, holding a bloody bat.

“Is she dead?” I gasp in excitement and walk out of the cell, stepping past the sharp edges.

My sword vanishes as I hold down Greyson’s face and he looks at me in confusion. “Minerva?”

“The one and only,” I grin, “I must say that I love your work.”

I look down at the blood pooling next to her body and without warning, I kiss him.

I feel Sebastian’s gaze on my face as I pull back and I don’t ignore it.

“But I want to punch you for taking too long. Now I have to carry Estella up again.”

He tries to get himself after the kiss.

“Wait, Estella here?”

“Yes, I’ll let you see her when you give me another kiss.”
