“SO, DID I surprise you ladies?”

Claire got back into her senses upon hearing Blaire saying that.

“W-What are you doing here?” She asked Blaire.

“Last time I checked, this was a coffee shop that anyone can go to.” He answered.

“Yeah, talking about coincidence.” She said sarcastically.

Blaire looked at her intently. “People talk, my dear wife is in the coffee shop near the headquarters office with someone.” Blaire said.

Claire does not have any idea that JBC Corporation Headquarters was just near this coffee shop.

“So, what’s that truth that you want to say?” Blaire asked when she did not say anything.

She does not have any idea how long he’s been there but based on what he is asking he just heard her last sentence.

“That she came here for me Mr. Castillejo.” Gwen said. And she wanted to thank her for that.

“And who are you?” Blaire turns his head to Gwen.

“I’m Gwen, Clarry’s BFF.” Gwen answered.

Blaire’s brows furrowed. “BFF?”

“Yeah like Best Friends Forever, you know? And I think it’s just fair that Clarry met me today after you got me worried sick about her when you decided to end that call after telling me that she was in the hospital.” Gwen said and her tone of voice was far from being nice.

Blaire’s face seems to be enlightened. “So, you are that friend of my dear wife huh.” He said while nodding his head.

“I’m not just here friend, I told you I am her---”

“Yeah, BFF.” Blaire finished it for Gwen. “Sorry, I just don’t know that Claire has a BFF. So, where were you?” Blaire asked.

“What do you mean?” Gwen asked and simply looked at me.

“I don’t believe that we have met before. Not even on our wedding day. But for you to be so worried about Claire and as you said you are her BFF, you will not miss something important in her life, right?” Claire sense some doubt on Blaire’s tone.

“You are right. Well, what can I say? I am out of the country.” Gwen said smiling but Claire knew better. Her BFF doesn’t like Blaire. She can tell by just listening with the tone of her voice.

“That makes sense then. And about your call, I made sure that I was clear when I said she’s okay by the time you called.”

Claire can feel the tension between Gwen and Blaire.

“You could have at least told me what hospital!” Gwen exclaimed and Claire knew that she was losing her temper slowly.

“Oh! My bad, it’s just that the last time I talked to one of Claire’s friends, I was scammed!” Blaire blurted out.

“What?!” Both Gwen and Claire exclaimed.

Blaire looked at his watch. “Anyway, I have to go ladies.” He said all of a sudden.

“Well, nice meeting you Mr. Castillejo.” Gwen said. Claire almost rolled her eyes because of her formality.

“You can call me Blaire.” Blaire said but his eyes were on her.

“Blaire then.” Gwen said.

“See you in the house.” Blaire said to her not even minding Gwen.

“S-See you.” She stuttered because of his gaze.

He stood up and started walking away.

“That’s it? No goodbye kiss or what---”

“Gwen! Shut up!” She said, looking at her with big eyes.

Gwen just chuckled.

“By the way,”

They turned their heads on Blaire. She thought that he left already but he was standing two tables away from them.

“Don’t pay. You can order more. Anything you want. It’s on me.” He said and left.

Claire and Gwen literally dropped their mouths.

“OMG!” Gwen exclaimed they got back into their senses.

Claire rolled her eyes.

“That was so…..” Her BFF intentionally left her sentence hanging. And looked at her with sparkling eyes.

Claire’s brows furrowed. “What?” She asked.

“That was so sweet of him.” Gwen said giggling.

“What?!” She exclaimed unbelievably.

“Well, yeah maybe he can be arrogant but he is so sweet.” Gwen said.

“Tsk! Sweet?” She made a face.

“See you in the house. Don’t pay. You can order more. Anything you want. It’s on me.” Gwen said, imitating the masculine voice of Blaire.

Claire laughed.

“You just have to read between the lines, Clarry.”

“You don’t know him, Gwen. You just met him.”

“Oh! What about you? You just met him a few days ago.” Gwen said as a matter of fact.

She just zipped on her coffee.

“I forgive him already even though he is not asking for any apology at all.”

Gwen said after zipping on her coffee too.

“What do you mean?” She asked, confused.

“You know about my call that he ended quickly. I was really pissed off because of that, you know.”

“Yeah, I knew that. But now all of a sudden you like him.” She said.

“Actually, I like him for you, Clarry,” Gwen said teasingly.

Claire’s eyes widened. “He has a wife Gwen.” She said in a low voice.

“Who happened to be you.” Gwen answered.

She sighed deeply.

“Just for now Gwen. Just for now.” She emphasized.

Gwen chuckled. “Whatever Clarry. But the best part was, we can order anything we want. Remember it’s on him. Maybe I could take out some food as well”

“Yeah, do that and you will be on his scammers list.” She warned her.

“Clarry, it’s different, he is the one who said that, we are not scamming him.”

“Oh! Gracious heaven!”

Gwen laughed. “I missed that.”

Clarry made a face. And took some pasta in her mouth.

“But he is handsome, really.” Gwen said.

Claire thought that she was already finished talking about Blaire.

“And I think, a nice body too, huh.” Gwen added which caused her to cough.

Gwen looked at her. “What happened to you?”

“Nothing, I just choked.” She explained and drank some water.

Gwen nodded. And then looked at her intently.

“W-What?” She asked, a little bit nervous because she really knew Gwen and she knew that look. That kind of look that you will not surely like if she will voice it out.

“I was kinda thinking, you know, apparently he is your husband and what he knows, you are his wife.” Gwen looked at her again and cleared her throat. “Well, you know, uhm… did you… you know? In the bed—-“

“Gwen! Hold it! The answer is no!” She said, panicking.

Then Gwen laughed. “You are blushing my dear! Not even a single kiss—“

“No Gwen. And stopped it!” She said, looking at her in horror.

Gwen continued laughing. “Easy Clarry, I was just asking.”

“Then stop asking Gwen. I told you, they have a strange relationship.” She said gritting her teeth.

“Okay, chill! I got it.” Gwen said, still laughing.

“Crazy!” She exclaimed and made a face.

Gwen just continued laughing.
