Chapter 15: Chapter 15

“RISE AND SHINE Clarry!” Claire exclaimed.

She immediately checked the other side of the bed. She breathed easily when she found out that it was empty.

Her face heats up upon remembering what happened last night. Ah! She needs a shower. Again she had trouble finding a dress to wear. She’s thinking of going to the mall today and buying some new clothes. Yeah, that will be her self reward for getting the $30,000 project. At least she can go out with Zack as well.

“So, you are enjoying this mother thing now huh.” Said her inner self.

Of course not! She just doesn't have a choice and apart from that, she wants to know why she looks like Blaire’s wife. Why do they have the same name and date of birth as well?

“Really? Convincing yourself huh.”

She decided to ignore her inner self. She wants to check on Zack but when she went to his room, he wasn’t there anymore.

She went directly to the dining area, this mansion is really big. When she got there, she saw Blaire and Zack were about to have breakfast, while Nana Amy, Rose and Maria were serving the food. She did not see brother Romeo, maybe he is outside.

“Good morning everyone.” She greeted them with a bright smile.

Everyone looked at her and they all seemed surprised, well except for Zack.

“Good morning mommy!” He said and ran towards her. He held her hand and assisted her in the table.

Such a gentleman! Then her eyes automatically landed on Blaire. He was sipping his coffee but his eyes were on her. She looked on his lips and thoughts of last night filled her. She abruptly takes her gaze somewhere else. Because if she did not do that, she might get embarrassed again in front of this Greek God.

“I told you daddy, mommy will join me on every meal.” Zack said happily.

“Yeah, but mommy was still sleeping a while back.” He said.

She furrowed her forehead, Blaire was there? In the master’s bedroom?

“I don’t have the heart of waking her up.” He continued as if answering her questions in mind. For a second he sounded like a loving husband too. “Anyway, this is the first time that she will join us for breakfast.” He added.

“I-Is it?” She asked, too late to notice that she voiced it out.

‘You said you are not a morning person.” He said and started eating.

“Oh, okay.” She does not know what to say because she knows that he was pertaining to his real wife. Well, he must be. Because she is a morning person. “But anyone can change right?” She said.

He looked intently at her as if suddenly she became a zombie. It seems that he was about to say something but he looked at Zack and just sipped his coffee.

“Mommy, these are my favorites.” Zack said.

“Oh, pancakes! I love pancakes too. I can make pancakes for you if you want.” She beamed at him.

“Really mommy? You will make pancakes for me?” Zack was so excited.

“Don’t make promises that you can’t do.” Blaire said, there was something in his voice that told her to be careful of what she was saying.

“Who said I can’t do it?” She said, meeting his gaze bravely.

“Yehey! Mommy will make pancakes for me soon!” Zack cannot contain his happiness. And Claire thinks that this is also the best time to tell Blaire that she is planning to bring Zack in the mall. The little boy will surely be more happy.

“And not only that, we will go to the mall later.” She announced.

Zack clapped his hands. “Yehey! I like that mommy!” He said cheerfully.

But it seems that Blaire was not happy about it. If only his looks can kill then she died already. “Are you finished with your food kiddo?” He asked Zack.

“Yes daddy.” The little boy said.

“Nana Amy, can you get Zack for a while.” He called the old lady. “I’ll just have a word with my dear wife.” He added the last sentence like he was sending a warning to her.

But what did she do? Is it a crime to take your son to the mall?

“Yeah like he was really your son?” Said the small voice in her head, which she completely ignored.

Nana Amy took Zack. “I will take a bath and we will go to the mall right mommy?” The little boy is asking for assurance.

She smiled and nodded. Then Nana Amy took him out from the dining area.

“What are you playing again this time?”

The moment that Zack and Nana Amy stepped out of the dining area, Blaire’s voice roared.

She sighed. Here we go again!

“I am not playing any games Blaire. I just want Zack to be happy.” She said calmly.

“Really? Since when did you care about his happiness?” He said mockingly.

“I just want to make things up for him, Blaire.” She reasoned out. She can’t find any reason why he is getting angry with that. “And I can’t see any reason with that Blaire.”

Blaire looked at her blankly. Maybe he is trying to figure out again if she was sincere in what she was saying.

“The last time you took him in the mall, he was kidnapped, Claire for God sake!”

She gasped! Oh! Gracious heaven! This was the reason why his reaction was like that. This was the incident that Nana Amy told her. But she can’t tell them that she was not that person. Anyway, who will believe her?

“I’ll be careful this time. I-If you want Nana Amy can come or brother Romeo or anyone in this house.” She insisted.

Blaire looked at her for a long time. “What about me Claire?” He said after a long silence.

“Well…” She can’t find the right words. Actually she will not be comfortable if Blaire will be with them. But, if she will give him another reason, he might conclude that she really has a different intention in bringing Zack to the mall.

“Well what Claire?” He said impatiently.

“Well, of course you can come.” She said and smiled awkwardly.

Again there was silence. And he is looking at her intently again! She knew that he was trying to weigh everything before he would come up with a decision, a CEO indeed!

“Zack will be happy. You saw how he liked the idea of going to the mall.” She was trying to convince him.

She was praying really hard for him to let them go. Aside from the fact that she really needs some clothes, she saw the happiness in Zack’s face a while back.

“I chose not to believe that you can kidnap your own son just for money, Claire. Don’t make me regret that decision.” After a long pause he said coldly. And walked away.

“Did he just say that he is letting us go?” She whispered to herself and shook her head afterwards.
