“RELAX CLAIRE, I just did what you are doing to Zack.”

Claire heard Blaire saying that but she needed to blink twice first before he got what he meant. She was caught off guard. She did not anticipate that he would wipe her mouth with the table napkin he was handling.

“Don’t you think that was sweet?” She heard her inner self. And tried her best to ignore it.

“Daddy is so sweet.” Zack exclaimed.

“What about mommy Zack?” Blaire asked. She does not have any idea why he asked all of a sudden.

“Mommy is sweet as well, daddy. She is so kind also. She is my new mommy.” Zack said innocently.

“You think so kiddo?” He asked.

She has this feeling that he is trying to mock her. She can hear that in his voice.

“Yes daddy. I need to be a good boy, daddy.” Zack continued.

“You don’t have to be a good boy kiddo, because you are already a good boy.” Blaire said and looked at his son lovingly.

“I don’t want my old mommy back, daddy.” Zack said.

Claire was thinking if Zack has an idea that she is not her real mother or he is just an innocent kid trying to tell his father that her mother went from treating him bad into treating him good.

She looked at Blaire, trying to check his reactions. But she found him looking at her intently.

“Kiddo, finish your food, mommy and daddy will talk later.” Blaire said.

That makes her feel more uneasy. Why can't they talk now? That only means that he does not want Zack hearing whatever they will talk to.

“Okay daddy.” Zack said.

After dinner, she went into the living room with Zack. She can feel that Blaire is just behind them. Nana Amy also followed them.

“Kiddo, stay with Nana Amy for now, mommy and daddy will just talk, okay?” Blaire said, looking at Zack.

“Yes daddy.” He replied. Then he looked at her and she smiled at him.

“Please be back soon mommy.” He said. She can see that he is very eager to get attention from her mother. He wants to be with his mother most of the time and she felt sad for him because his real mother was not able to give that to him.

“I will honey.” She said sincerely.

“Claire, in my office.” Blaire said and started walking away.

Afraid that she does not know where his office is in this mansion, she followed him immediately.

CLAIRE FOUND herself walking behind Blaire. She’s been thinking about what they will talk about. To be honest she is trying to be calm, Blaire has this effect on her that she can’t explain.

She’s been thinking too much and she is not paying attention, that is why she gets really shocked when she bumps into something hard that causes her to be out of balance.

“Oh! Shoot!” She exclaimed while closing her eyes and ready to fall on the floor.

But she did not fall, instead she felt strong arms wrapped around her waist. And then there was that natural and fresh masculine scent that she is familiar with. She slowly opened her eyes and she sighed deeply upon seeing those brown eyes looking intently at her.

Blaire’s face was just an inch away from her face and if she would move, she might kiss his lips already! They were both speechless and looking intently on each other.

Blaire got to his senses and stood straight. He made sure that she was standing firmly and then he let go of her.

“Are you out of your mind?” He asked coldly.

“Uhm, sorry.” She said. She can’t even look at him straight because her face heats up. She is sure that she is blushing!

She did not hear from Blaire again that is why she decided to look at him. She saw him looking at her with a furrowed forehead. Then he shook his head and opened the door in front of him.

This might be his office. They were on the third floor. When they went inside, she confirmed that this was Blaire’s office. He has a cozy office.

He let her sit while he remained standing. Then he started looking at her.

“W-What?” She asked, and it almost came out like a whisper.

“Tell me Claire, what game are you up to now?” Blaire asked.

“What game are you talking about?”

“This game that all of a sudden you are soft and kind. Most especially to Zack.” He said.

“Are you trying to say that I have different intentions?” She asked him. She was hurt actually but she just kept in mind that he thought that she was her real wife. And she concluded that her real wife was cunning.

“You tell me Claire. And don’t use Zack!” He exclaimed.

“I will never do that.” She’s trying her best to make him believe what she said.

“Really Claire? You’ve never shown any affection to him and now what? Suddenly, you are acting as if you are a loving mother!”

She can see how he is controlling his anger. And she can’t blame him. She felt the same way to his real wife. Especially about the things she had learned from Zack. The way he was being treated by his own mother.

“I-If given a chance I want to make him feel the love of a mother.” She does not know why she said that. Maybe like Zack, she wants to feel a motherly love. Just like before she lost her mother. Only God knows how she missed her own mother. And somehow she can relate to Zack’s eagerness of mother’s love and attention.

Blaire looked at her as if trying to read her mind. “Why?” He asked.

“Why not Blaire? Can’t you see how happy he was a while back?”

Blaire laughed sarcastically. “That is not what I mean! Why are you suddenly acting like a good mother? I know you Claire. I know that this is one of your schemes!”

“I-I just suddenly realized it, Blaire.” Maybe he will believe her if she will just say that.

Blaire looked at her. “You realized it after your accident?” He asked but he still seems trying to figure out what’s on her head.

She just nodded. “Believe it or not Blaire, but I want Zack to be happy too.” She said sincerely.

“You better be telling the truth this time Claire.” She can sense some warning in his voice.

She cringes secretly upon hearing him saying that. Well, apparently yes, she is telling the truth about her intentions with Zack. But she’s lying about her real identity.

“Because if I found out that this is just part of your many games, you will really see who I am Claire.” He added dangerously.

That sent some chill on her spine. “Is that all?” She asked him and stood up bravely. She does not want to hear more about his warnings and all.

Blaire grabbed her arm and held it tightly. For a second their eyes met and it seemed that the world stopped. She wonders if he can also feel that tingling sensation run through her veins whenever their skins touch. Maybe not.

“Remember that Claire! You have hurt him so many times emotionally! And if this is part of your game, you will hurt him big time and I will not allow you to do that Claire.”

She can see how Blaire loves his son. She just felt bad for Zack having a mother like his real mother.

“I won’t hurt him Blaire. Never.” She said while looking intently at him.

His face softened and he let go of her arm. She walked towards the door but before she went out, she stopped and looked at him.

“I care for him too, Blaire.” She said and went out the door.
