Chapter 60: Chapter 60

The human woman that I saw in the elevator that morning and the same one that I saw gossiping about me with her friend. When she saw me, she lifted her chin up in an arrogant way and turned around, not bothering to greet me.

So she only greeted me this morning because I was with Sebastian? Wow, what a hypocrite. I ignored her too and continued shopping. It didn't take long before I was done grabbing all the groceries that I needed which included several vegetables and fruits along with fresh meat and fish. I also added a bag of potato chips that I enjoyed having. I placed all the items in my shopping cart and started rolling it towards the counter to pay.

However, as I reached it, I felt someone bump into me. I looked to the person to see the human woman from the office standing beside me. She exclaimed, "Ugh! You bumped into me just so that you can steal that bag of chips from me!"

I looked at her with a confused expression as a confused frown fell on my brows, "What are you talking about? You bumped into me! Besides, why in the world would I steal something from you? I'm not homeless."

She scoffed, "It doesn't matter! All I know is that you stole that bag of chips from me, so hand it over right away!"

I was so shocked at her behavior towards me, did she really hate me that much? That would go as far as framing me for stealing a very simple bag of chips from her? She must be really jealous of my relationship with Sebastian. I got over my shock and replied to her with a sweet smile, "Can't you see that I'm shopping for a lot of things? They are worth more than a bag of chips, so why should I steal that?"

I decided that I didn't have time for her pesky human drama, especially since I had to go home and get ready before Sebastian came home to mark me. So I continued walking towards the counter and ignored her. I heard her shout after me, "This isn't over! You have to pay me for that!"

"Why don't you continue trying to frame me and I would make sure to let Sebastian know about everything that happened here?" I threw over my shoulder and continued on my way to the counter.

That seemed to silence her and she didn't try anything again. As I reached the human woman cashier at the counter, she looked impressed with how I handled the situation since she saw what happened. She smiled at me as I started placing my items on the counter to be scanned. I saw the irritating human walk past us and rushed to the door with nothing in her hands.

Oh, so she didn't even come here to shop? Yet she was framing me? Anyone with sense would know that she's the one most likely to steal from me. The cashier finished checking out my items and glanced at me, "That would be $17, Miss."

"Okay." I answered her as I opened my purse to pull out a $20 bill.

I handed it over to her and she took them from me, "Okay, I'll give you $3 back."

She opened the register to place the bill I gave her inside it and pull out $3, but I shook my head to stop her as I said, "No, keep the change."

She looked surprised, but also pleased as she nodded with a larger smile, "Thank you, Miss. I'll bag your items now."

"Sure, thanks." I replied to her as my smile widened. Even though I wasn't rich and my salary was only $70 a month, I could still tip her. That was how you become wealthy by giving to others, instead of taking from others all the time. Besides, she was surprised since she was a new employee. The older ones knee that I usually tip them, so they weren't surprised anymore.

In a few minutes, she was done placing my items into two bags and handed them over. I took them from her with a nod and she grinned wider, "Come back soon."

"Will do, I always shop for groceries here." I answered her as I made my way to the door.

As I walked back out, I noticed that the sky was dark now and the sun was nowhere to be seen. So I switched on my heightened werewolf senses as I walked down the street to see and hear any oncoming danger. Suddenly, a crunch came from behind me and as soon as I whipped around to see who it was, I was pushed into an alley then pressed against the wall.

Cameron's face appeared as he pressed his body against mine, making my grocery bags drop on the ground, "Oh, Kat. I have waited so long to see you again and now, that I have news from my people that your possessive mate isn't anywhere near you, I can finally have you all to myself!"

I felt my heart squeeze with fear at what he was planning to do, and my heart beat faster as I struggled to get out of his hold. But he wrapped his arms around me as he pressed his body even more into mine. I continued struggling as I said, "Get off of me, Cameron! Let me go now!"

Cameron chuckled, the sound sending chills down my spine in a scary way, instead of a s*xy way it did with Sebastian or in a nice way like it used to with him before we broke up. "I can never let you go, Kat even if you have a mate! And luckily for me, he hasn't marked you yet!"

"You cheated on me with my best friend and now, you want me? You're going to meet your mate too, so just let me be with my mate!" I said through gritted teeth as my face reddened with fear, anger and helplessness.

My wolf growled in my head, 'He has no right to be with us! We want only our mate. Not a traitor!'

"Yes, I want you back, Kat and I want you forever with me. That's why I will mark you before your precious mate does. That way, you can't be with him, you can only be with me!" Cameron grunted as his light brown eyes stared at me with his thin lips parted and his crooked nose flared. I realized that he wasn't even really handsome and neither was his personality handsome, so what did I even see in this guy?

"Get away from me, Cameron!" I shouted and continued struggling against him as he drew his wolf forward.

His eyes flashed black and his teeth sharpened into fangs as his face became hairier than usual. I felt so hopeless as tears rolled down my cheeks. This was as worse as being raped since he was going to bind my soul to his which would destroy both my mate and I because we won't be able to be together. Slowly, we would become an empty shell then die in agony of not being able to be with each other.

And the worse thing was that, because he was pressed against me and restraining me, I couldn't shift into my wolf to fight him off since we could only do so in free space. Even if I did shift, he was an Alpha, so naturally, he was stronger than me. I tried to kick out my legs, but it was no use since his body was pressed against mine. I watched, helplessly in fear and anger as Cameron moved his face to my neck.

As soon as his sharp teeth grazed my neck, he was wrenched away from me. I crumbled to the ground in tears as my chest heaved with sobs. I wiped my tears away and tried to stop sobbing as I looked up to see my savior. It was my mate, Sebastian. My heart filled with love and warmth for my mate as my lips managed a small, happy smile at seeing him. My hand went to my chest to grip where my heart was beating faster at seeing my mate.

I watched as Sebastian punched Cameron on the jaw and his face snapped to the side. He spat out blood just as my mate threw a kick at his stomach. Cameron flew back and landed a few feet from him on the ground. It seemed that he wasn't expecting the attack, so he wasn't ready. Good, because that was how he and his pack attacked our pack.

Cameron started changing into his black wolf as Sebastian walked towards him to finish him off. Seeing that, Sebastian also started changing into his wolf. His gorgeous red fur glistened in the moonlight as he stood as his wolf. As soon as he finished changing, Cameron was jumping on him and attacking. He tried to bite his throat so that he could rip it out, but my mate was having none of that. He growled and threw him off of him. Cameron landed on all fours and ran head first towards Sebastian who met him head first too.

As their heads collided, they both stepped back a few steps, but Cameron stepped back more. He ran at my mate again and bared his teeth, ready to clamp down on flesh, but Sebastian raised his paw and slashed him across the face with his sharp wolf claws. Cameron stopped in his tracks as blood oozed out from his left wolf's cheek. He cried out in pain and anger before letting out a growl.

Sebastian growled back at him, louder and more intimidating. As more blood dripped down from Cameron's cheek, his gaze moved to me before moving back to Sebastian. In the next second, he turned around and ran away. Sebastian was about to run after him when he stopped and turned his head to me as if his wolf reminded him to look after me first.

Sebastian started changing back into his wolf and soon, he was standing there in human form, wearing nothing, but his elastic boxer shorts. His muscles and tattoos in full display, sweat dripped down every inch of muscle and tattoo, making him look so s*xy.
