I saw Will approaching us with three trays of food on his arms and he smiled when he saw Sebastian. "Hello, Mr. Wolfe."

"Will, how are you?" My mate asked him as he placed one plate in front of me then one in front of Tess and the other in front of him.

"I'm great, and sorry, I would have ordered a plate for you too if I had known that you were joining us." Will said, looking apologetic as he sat down.

"It's fine, I'm not hungry anyway. I just wanted to be with my mate." Sebastian replied and turned to me with his alluring dark eyes capturing mine.

I felt my breath hitch at the intensity of his stare and I was about to reply when my phone started ringing from my purse. I tore my gaze away from my gorgeous mate and looked at my purse as I opened it to pull out my phone. Mom's name flashed on the screen and I answered the call before placing it against my ear.

"Hey, mom."

"Kat, how have you been? I've missed you, we haven't talked in a while." Mom said, sounding a bit concerned.

I smiled at her words, happy that someone cared about me and I felt Sebastian's gaze on me which made my body heat up. Trying not to get distracted by his gaze, I answered her, "Yeah, I have been great and I'm sorry that I haven't called you in a while, it's just that I have been concentrated on work and spending time with my mate."

"Ah, yes, you would forget us now that you have met him. How is he?" Mom said in a teasing voice, so I knew that she didn't really mean her first sentence.

"Not at all, I would never forget you, mom, and Sebastian is great. He even suggested that we visit home today after work."

"That's so sweet of him."

Her voice sounded a bit surprised at my words since Cameron has never suggested to visit my family first, but he did show that he liked them every time that we would visit. She continued, "The twins will be excited to see him again, they have been asking about him since he left and wanting to know when he would come back. Even Vanessa has asked about when he was coming to visit with you again."

My smile widened and I glanced over at Sebastian beside me. Our gaze clashed and his lips tugged up into a smile, confirming that he could hear our conversation. Well, we were sitting very close, even without werewolf heating, he would have heard every single word that she says.

I felt myself being drawn into his alluring, dark eyes, so I dragged my gaze away from him yet again and moved it to the table as I replied to mom, "I'm glad that they all like him, he has also been asking about the twins. They have already formed a bond."

She laughed, "I know and I'm so relieved that they have gotten over Cameron in such a short time because if they kept asking about him, I might pull my hair out since he betrayed us like that."

"I'm relieved too, but Cameron also helped me by cheating without knowing, so that made me let him go easily and move on with my mate."

"Yes, you are right- wait, your dad's calling." She said to me then yelled, "They're in the freezer, honey! Yes, right there! I'm coming, I'll show you."

It seemed that she was talking to Dad who was looking for something that was supposed to be in the freezer. She turned her attention to me as she said, "I've got to go, Kat. It was nice talking with you. I'll see you when you come later."

"It was great talking go you too, mom. Tell Dad that you called me, so that he wouldn't get jealous that I didn't call to tell him that we're coming too."

She let out an amused laugh, "Sure, I will, but your Dad's still going to be jealous, you know how he is."

I let out a sigh, "Yeah, I know. I'll see you later. Bye, mom."

"Bye, sweetheart." She hung up the call and I placed my phone back inside my purse as I saw Will and Tess talking to each other in hush tones.

Sebastian's voice took my eyes to him as he said, "I'm happy to know that your family likes me so much. I just hope that your Dad is over his father-son relationship with Cameron and would be able to accept me."

I let out a sigh, "I hope so too, but I think that he's coming around already."

His smile widened at my words and he glanced at the fries and burger on my plate before glancing back at me, "Aren't you going to eat, cupcake?"

I've totally forgotten about my food since my mind was still on my phone call with mom and I nodded, "Oh, yeah. I'm going to now."

So I picked up my fork to start stabbing the fries and placing them in my mouth. They felt so delicious that I didn't know when I let out a small moan which made Sebastian's alluring dark eyes fill with desire as he stared at me. His eyes trailed down to my lips before moving back up to capture my hazel eyes. The tension between us started rising and my cheeks reddened with a blush as my heart beat faster.

I didn't realize when our faces started moving closer to each other until we were only a few inches apart and his sweet, hot breath fanned my face. As he was about to press his lips against mine, we heard a voice of someone that grated on my nerves.

"Hi, Kat! Mind if I sit with you?" Sierra said, making Seth sigh as he and I pulled away from each other to look at her.

She was grinning in a wicked way and I knew that she did that on purpose. She was definitely planning something evil. We weren't friends anymore since she stole my boyfriend from me and if she thought that I was going to forgive her then she has underestimated me. It seemed that she didn't get the hint that Sebastian wasn't going to give her a chance to seduce him and wanted to keep trying.

"No, why are you even talking to me? We stopped being friends when you stole my boyfriend from me, remember?" I said to her in a calm voice even though I was feeling angry and my wolf was growling in anger inside my head at Sierra's betrayal and her audacity.

'She wants to take our mate from us!'

'I won't let her and neither would Sebastian.' I said in a soothing voice in my mind to sooth her anger. She huffed and kept quiet as she watched on.

I turned back to Sierra and saw that she looked shocked at my response and was speechless for a few seconds before she finally groaned, "Ugh! Fine, whatever! I don't want to sit with someone that's so not perfect anyway. Besides, Cameron chose me over you and he still can't leave me! So it's your fault for not being perfect enough for him!"

I was about to reply when Sebastian said to her in a still voice as a frown fell on his brows, "Don't yell at my mate or you wouldn't like what would happen."

The words were so chilling from how intimidating he looked and sounded. Sierra looked scared and gritted her teeth as she muttered, "Yes, Sir."

She turned and rushed away while Tess stared after her in shock. She looked back at me as she said in a surprised voice, "That was the b*tch that stole your ex? How is she even working here? I've never seen her before and look at how obsessed she is with you. It's so obvious that she's so jealous of you and that was why she kept mentioning that you weren't perfect."

"Yeah, I know that she's jealous and we have been friends for so long. She actually started working here after she saw me with Sebastian at my apartment building and she even said that she's here to take him away from me too." I replied to her as I stabbed more fries to place the inside my mouth.

"That's crazy!" Tess exclaimed, looking horrified and shocked, and Will nodded as he added, "Yeah, she's insane."

"But of course she can't steal me away from my mate. No one can and if she tries anything then I would ruin her." Sebastian said as his frown disappeared and he glanced at me.

My lips stretched into a smile as I glanced at him, "I know, Sebastian, she can't take you away from me. You and I wouldn't let her, nor would our wolves."

Tess's next words moved our attention back to her, "That b*tch needs some sense and sanity knocked into her skull. If you want, Kat, I can beat her up for you or even change to wolf form to leave a few scratches."

I couldn't help, but laugh, especially while imagining Sierra beat up on the floor and looking defeated. It was such a tempting offer and I could have done it myself too, but I shook my head, "No need to, Tess, but if she tries to do something like that then I'll fight back and make sure that sh never gets the pride to do that to me again."

"That's my cupcake." Sebastian's enticing, deep voice took my attention back to him and I saw his lips twitch up into a smile.

My face flushed into a blush at his compliment and his stare. Tess's reply made him take my gaze away from him again, "Fine, I won't beat her up, but if she tries to pull anything then I'm going to nake sure that she never tries it again."

I smiled at her, still aware of Sebastian's hot gaze on me which made my tummy fill with butterflies and I nodded at her, "Thanks for having my back."
