I glanced back at Tess, "Yeah, we can chat during lunch time."

"Sure, of course." She replied and turned back to her computer.

I also turned to my computer and switched it on. I scrolled to my Word document where I kept my articles and clicked on the recent one that I was working on. It was a news article about the celebrities, Will Smith and Chris Rock. Everyone was talking about it and it has blown up the internet. If I wanted to make this even more popular then I needed to write on this.

Will Smith Slapped Chris Rock because of his wife, Jada Smith. It was bad for Will Smith since he was being held at fault for being aggressive. All the news and every industry even if it has nothing to do with the news. So this was why it was such a popular topic. I have already started my research yesterday, so I used it to type out the article.

I was so engrossed in the news story that I didn't even notice that it was already lunch time until I heard Tess say, "Kat, it's time for lunch. Do you want to head over to the cafeteria?"

I looked up at her in surprise as my eyes widened, "What? It's already time for lunch?"

She let out a small laugh as she nodded, "Yep, you must have really been engrossed in your article to not have noticed how fast the time has passed."

I looked back at my computer as I logged out of the Word document app while saying, "Yeah, the gist in it is so entertaining."

She stood up as she raised her brows in question, "What could it be talking about?"

I switched off my computer and stood up too as I turned to her, "Will Smith Slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars."

Tess nodded, not looking surprised, "Ahh, yes. The slap heard around the world. It was a pretty bad move that Will Smith made, but Chris Rock shouldn't have joked about Jada's alopecia condition."

We started walking around the cubicles to make our way out of the office while I replied to her, "Alopecia is losing your hair and not cancer, like Jada is making it out to be. Besides, Chris made a G.I Jane joke, it's not insulting at all, but empowering. I am not taking sides. I like both Will and Chris, but Will Smith's wife has hurt him so many times over the years and this just made everyone place the fault on her even more."

Tess nodded, "Yeah, she's such a toxic person. She has publicly embarrassed Will and shows that she doesn't love or respect him. She's even brain washing her daughter to do the same."

"I even saw a video saying that Will admitted to Jada forcing him to do it. Whether by saying it or from her reaction, I'm not sure."

We reached the elevator and Tess pressed the button for it to open as she glanced back at me to reply, "She has been destroying his life way too much that fans are saying that he should divorce her. I mean she has been cheating on him several times then demanded that he accept it and even said that he can do it too, meaning they have an open relationship now."

"Yeah, I already heard about the open relationship, but I haven't heard about the divorce. Is he filing for a divorce now?" I asked with a curious look on my face as we stepped into the elevator.

She pressed on the button for the cafeteria floor as she nodded, "Not exactly. I saw a video about her asking for divorce. It's probably because she was getting all the blame from the slap."

I let out a sigh, "It's really better that way and to think of how Chris Rock felt at that moment. He must have been so embarrassed, he couldn't even stay for the after party and did you know that he was bullied as a kid? He had so much childhood trauma from being beat up and had to go through a lot of therapy."

She looked surprised as her eyes widened, "Wow, I had no idea. Anyway, let's get back to talking about you and Mr. Alpha CEO's pack. When are you initiating me and my Will in? Is there some kind of ritual to join the pack or something like that?"

I shook my heard, feeling amused at her question, "I don't think so. Sebastian only introduced me to them, but I think that there is a form of initiation for Lunas and it's probably done after he marks me like mom told me before, but I'll ask him."

Tess nodded, "Yeah, sure and thanks."

"No problem, Tess." I replied to her with a smile.

The elevator doors opened at that moment and we stepped out of it to make our way to the cafeteria. As soon as we entered it, Tess's mate, Will leaned off of a wall beside the door and approached us with a large smile on his face as his gaze landed on hi mate. "Tess!"

"Hey, babe!" Tess answered his call as he enveloped her in a tight hug.

They pulled back and smiled at each other, looking into each other's eyes. I couldn't help, but say, "Awwee! You two are so cute together."

Tess laughed as she turned to me while Will grinned and glanced at me, "Hey, Kat."

"Hi, Will. Hope you've been treating Tess well."

"Of course, she's my mate and soon to be the mother of my pups." He replied to me as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

She nodded as she grinned at him. I felt a bit shocked at their views, "What? You two don't believe in getting married like modern werewolves?"

Both of them shook their heads as Tess answered me, "No, we believe that once we mark each other and mate, it's like a wedding. So we don't need to go through human traditions and get married."

I felt truly surprised that there were still werewolves that have these kinds of beliefs, "Wow, that's impressive."

"Yeah, it is." Will replied then looked between Tess and I as he added, "I'm going to go get us our order while you two find a table."

"Sure, babe." Tess answered him with a peck on his lips while I nodded, "Okay."

He turned and walked towards the counter to order. Tess looked over at the tables and pointed at the one that we sat on on my first day, "There, that table's empty."

"Yeah, let's go."

We made our way to the table and sat down opposite each other. I was about to speak when I felt a warm presence behind me and my wolf start yipping in excitement. I knew that it had to be our mate before he even made his presence known. His two assistants apart from Adam walked over to the table beside ours to sit which confirmed my assumption.

"Mind if I sit here, cupcake?" Sebastian's velvety, smooth voice came as he sat down beside me without waiting for my answer.

I turned to him with a large smile on my face and noticed that he has removed his suit jacket like he usually does during lunch. The sleeves of his white shirt were also rolled up to his elbows, showing off more of his tattoos which made him look so hot and the top buttons of his shirt were undone, showing off his neck tattoos even more. My mate was so hot and handsome, 'How did I get so lucky?'

I asked myself as I felt my tummy fill with butterflies while staring at him. My wolf answered me, 'It is all fate, little Kat. All fate.'

'You're right and I'm very grateful to fate.' I replied to her and I heard her laugh in my head.

I turned my attention back to my mate as I answered him, "Not at all, my mate. I thought that you wouldn't have time for lunch today, considering that I made you come late to work."

Sebastian looked amused at my words as his lips twitched up into a smile, "I will always have time to be with you. Besides, I can't let you sit here without me with all these lustful men and werewolves around you."

I couldn't help, but giggle and raised my brows in question, "What? Lustful? But the already know that I'm with you."

He looked around at the cafeteria before moving his gaze back to me, "Yeah, some dishonorable men and weres would still dare to approach you. Do you have any idea how beautiful you are, Kat? Not only that, you have the cutest personality and you're also smart. I'm sure that whenever you're single, guys keep rushing at you."

I shook my head, "Not exactly."

"Then it must be because they are afraid that you might reject them with how shy you are."

"I'm glad that they didn't, besides, you're the heart throb. You have no idea how you take away the attention of all the girls when you walk in." I said with a shy smile.

He chuckled in his velvety, deep voice as he changed the topic, "So how has your day been so far?"

"Hey, Mr. Wolfe." Tess said, drawing our attention to her smiling face.

"Tess, hi. I hope that you're comfortable working here." Sebastian replied to her politely.

She nodded, "Yeah, super comfortable."

He nodded in reply and turned back to me, "So your day?"

I gave him a sheepish smile and replied, "Oh, yeah. It was great and I enjoyed my work day. But I also can't wait to go shopping later."

His lips tugged up into a smile at my reaction, "Why don't we buy your family more gifts and visit them after? I miss your twin sisters already."

My smile widened into a grin as I felt excited, "Yeah, they would definitely love it! I also miss them all and would live to see them again soon."

"Alright, it's settled then." He replied to me as his alluring dark eyes studied me, making my heart race and my face flush at their intensity.
