Sophie sounded surprised and worried, "You're not the type to miss work for anything. What happened? Is it something with Sebastian or that horrible manager?"

"Sebastian told me that he's in the Mafia and not only that, but his whole pack is in the Mafia and he's the Alpha Mafia Boss."

"So you ran away and came back home? Kat, how could you do that to your mate? You should be able to live with him no matter who he is and how he is."

"But what if he has killed someone before?" I asked, feeling a bit scared.

"It doesn't matter, you and I both know that Sebastian is a good person and he would never hurt a soul. God, even if he has, you shouldn't care because you're meant to support him." She said in a serious and concerned voice.

I sighed, "I know and I will. I didn't reject him, I just needed to think things through. There's no way that I would leave him or not accept him. He's the best thing that has happened to me and he has been nothing, but kind to me since we've met."

"That's the Kat I know and love." Sophie replied, sounding relieved that I was on the right path.

"Yeah, so I will think things through more on my own now. I'm really glad that we had this talk, you're really the best friend any girl could ask for."

"It's my role as your best friend to give you the best advice. So have you heard from Sierra or Cameron or what's going on with them?"

I sighed, "Yeah, well, I've seen Sierra twice with my neighbor, Henry and it seems that she's cheating on Cameron with him."

"That's great! Karma is a wonderful b*tch." She said, excitedly.

"Exactly what I thought when I first saw them too. So what about you? Have you been in contact with you? I know that she knows that I already told you everything that happened on the night that I caught them cheating."

"Not really, but she did call me after you caught them. She told me that Cameron already broke up with you to be with her, but you claimed that she stole him from you."

I gasped in surprise that the girl has the audacity to lie, "That lying wh*re! Tell me that you don't believe her."

"Of course I don't believe her, Kat. I've always known that she's a mean girl that doesn't care about others. We also all know just how jealous she is of you. I mean, she does whatever you do even if we go out to eat." Sophie replied to me, sounding very sure of herself.

"Oh, yeah, I just thought that she wanted to match what I was eating." I said, innocently as I thought back to the moment.

Sophie let out a small laugh, "You're too good, Kat, but not everyone is like that."

"Yeah, you've said that to me many times before." I mentioned and sighed as my wolf whined.

'Our mate is hurting, little Kat. Why did you leave him like that? Even if you wanted to think things through, you shouldn't have ran away. I can feel his wolf's pain since he has marked us with his scent.'

'I am sorry, okay? Don't worry, I will go back to him as soon as I can. I would never reject our mate, you know that.' I replied to her in my head.

She yipped in excitement and approval that we would go back to our mate. I turned my attention back to Sophie, "So I have to go now. I'll have to go back to my mate before he overthinks the situation."

"I'm sure he probably has, but yeah, go get your mate!" She replied to me, enthusiastically.

My lips stretched into a wide grin, "I will, thanks for your advice, Sophie."

"You don't have to thank me, Kat. That's what friends are for."

"So bye."

"Bye." She replied and I hung up the call.

I checked the time on my phone's screen to see that it was now 11:30AM. I've already missed around half the day of work. What would Manager Heather do? What was Sebastian tho thinking at the moment? I sighed, running a hand through my hair as I placed my phone back inside my purse.

Sophie was right, my wolf was right. Sebastian was a good guy and my mate. He needed me to stand by his side, especially as an Alpha and I needed to be the best Luna/mate that I could be to him. But the question was, should I go back to him now? Or would he be angry and I should wait until tomorrow?

Sebastian's POV

My heart almost broke when Kat took her hand from mine and ran out of my office. My wolf howled in pain, calling out to our mate. Why would she run? Even if she said that she needed to think things through, she shouldn't have left like that. It only made my wolf and I think that she might reject us now.

I ran a hand through my short, slightly curly dark hair and let out a sigh. I wanted to run after her, but I knew that could make her feel pressured. So I decided to give her the space and time that she was looking for to think things through. I walked back to my desk and went around it to sit on the chair. As I did, I glanced at the screen of my computer, trying to get myself to work, but I couldn't.

My mind kept going back to Kat. My wolf kept whining in pain at being hurt and my heart kept squeezing with hurt in my chest. Would she really come back? My sweet, innocent cupcake? I felt worry naw at me as I thought of when she would come back to me. My worry was lifted when my office door opened and my beautiful, s*xy mate walked into my office, looking down.

Kat's POV

I walked into Sebastian's office, looking down because I felt ashamed for running away like that this morning. I lifted my head up and was surprised to find him standing right in front of me. He must have used his Alpha powers of speed. My hazel eyes met his dark ones and I saw the hurt and pain in them.

My heart squeezed at seeing those emotions in his eyes. How could I be the cause of this? Why did I even let him get hurt like this? Could he be able to forgive me? My wolf purred lightly as we continued looking into each other's eyes. 'He's our mate, of course, he will, Kat. Don't worry too much.'

"Kat…" Sebastian trailer off as he lifted his hand to cup my face.

"Sebastian, I'm so sorry for running away like that. I just… I felt overwhelmed and wanted to think things through, but I shouldn't have left. You're my mate, Sebastian and I would never leave you no matter what you do." I said in a small voice as I held his gaze.

Relief showed in his eyes along with love, "I'm very happy to hear that, Kat. I understand that you were in a tight place and needed to think first. But don't run away from me again, it hurts me very deeply, okay, cupcake?"

I nodded, feeling very bad for doing that to him, "Okay, Sebastian. I would never run away from you again."

His alluring dark eyes stared into mine intensely and I felt butterflies flutter in my tummy. "I would never let you run away from me again too. Nothing will separate us again."

I nodded as my eyes dropped down to his s*xy, plump, pink lips as he spoke. I bit my bottom lip to restrain myself from staring at his lips and pulled my eyes back up to his only to find them on my lips as I bit them. He used his thumb to pull my bottom lip out from between my teeth as his face inched closer to mine.

My heart beat faster at the feel of his thumb on my lips and my face grew hot in a blush. His eyes moved back up to mine and I saw the desire swirling in them mixed with want as his dark eyes turned into reddish dark eyes.

"You're so s*xy, beautiful and innocent and that makes you even s*xier. I can't wait to mark and mate with you, my one." Sebastian murmured just before he smashed his lips against mine in a heated kiss.

I kissed him back just as fiercely and soon, he was lifting me up by my butt and I was wrapping my legs around his hips. He moved us to his desk as we continued kissing and placed me on top of it. My arms wrapped around his neck as my fingers ran through his hair. His hands were caressing my hips as we continued making out. I felt butterflies erupt in my tummy as my heart raced even faster.

I felt so much desire at that point and even my wolf howled in excitement to her mate, but I was also worried that we might end up mating at that time. So I used all my will power to pull away from his hot kiss. We were both breathing heavily as as stared into each other's eyes while we had our arms around each other. I could see how red his eyes were and that means that his wolf was on the verge of taking over.

If his wolf did take over, I didn't know if he would mark me straight away and force him to mate with me. So I knew that we needed to slow things down a bit. I took my hands from around his neck, but he kept his hands on my hips. I raised my hand to trace my finger on the tattoos on his neck that were peaking out from the collar of his shirt. "You're so intriguing, my mate. Your tattoos always draw me in."
