Chapter 36: Chapter 36
Daniel’s P.O.V
I have been sitting on this plane and looking out the window for the past hour, all i was doing was looking out at the sky and mumbling to myself. I was awake all night thinking about Sara and the last conversation we had, I was thinking of everything that had happened in the last twenty four hours.
Yesterday I had to put up with Jackson and Jacob, they did not go home that night and in the end I had to kick them out of my room just so that I could be alone, but they still refused to go home. I slammed my bedroom door in their faces, but I was aware that they did not move a muscle and just stayed in the hallway.
Jackson knew his way around my house and knew that I had loads of other rooms because he had often brought women back to my house for parties, but he did not use them and just stayed in the hallway, hoping and waiting for me to come out, but I did not. I came out of my room when I heard the news about my grandfather's death three hours after I had shut everyone out.
When I arrived at the airport the news of my grandfather's death was everywhere, it was on every channel and I was getting sick and tired of seeing it. Everyone thought that I had left the country straight away, but I had not. I was sitting in the airport, waiting for my flight and could not stop thinking about Sara.
I needed to put things right with her, I needed to see her before I left. I got up and ran out of the airport, going straight to my car and headed to the office. I needed to be sure that Sara was safe. I knew that this was a big day for her because she had finally got the credit she deserved for her hard work.
I wanted to see her happy, I wanted to see her smiling face at least once more before leaving. I drove as fast as I could, trying to get to her, but on the way I saw a beautiful woman in a red gown and she was stunning. It was Sara and she was yet again walking alone at night, but she looked sad and was looking down at the ground. There was no one else around, not even her friends, but I could not understand why she was here.
Sara should be at the party being thrown in her honour, but she was out here and walking away from it, she did not look as happy as I had expected her to be either. I slammed on my brakes and came to a sudden halt, I got out of the car and went running towards her. I stood in front of her, but she was so lost in her thoughts that she did not see me and walked straight into me.
Sara looked up at me, but there was no fear in her eyes like before, she just looked surprised to see me. She must have also assumed that I had left the country as soon as I heard about my grandfather's death. Sara said my name and it made me smile, hearing the way she said my name with so much familiarity. I asked her why she was not at the party, but instead of answering me she started crying and asked how I was, passing on her condolences about my grandfather's death.
Seeing her innocence instantly made me go mad for her and when I looked into her eyes I could see a huge range of emotions. There was sadness and concern for me in her eyes and I knew that she had unknown feelings for me. I was happy to see that she was worried for me, but the tears in her eyes for me were making my heart break. I wiped her tears away and told her to wait for me that I would come back and sealed my love for her with a kiss, she did not try to push me away and just clutched onto my coat. Now here I am, on a plane and heading back to where I said I would never return.
Jackson’s P.O.V
I was sitting in front of Daniel and he was just looking out the window, completely calm unlike earlier when he was sitting in the airport and all his thoughts were completely focused on Sara. I was so shocked by the sudden news of his grandfather's death and that we would have to leave the country. Daniel was not going to leave the country, but when this happened he knew he did not have a choice and he had to leave.
I thought he would have been angry or in a mood, but he looked very calm and it was really strange. I knew he did not want to leave to go and see his grandfather one last time before he died, it was not his style and now that he's going, there seems to be more to it than meets the eye. He must have some hidden agenda, that's the only reason why he would look so calm and willingly leave.
“Jacob told me that you insisted on going on this plane, despite having your own plane. Did you do all this so you could see Sara? Is that why you ran away earlier, to go and see Sara?” I asked and even though I already knew the answer I wanted to hear him say it.
After receiving the news about Daniel's grandfather, I quickly left Daniel’s house and headed straight to the office to finish all the important work I had to do and to update my secretary on all the important work that needed to be done in my absence because I did not know how long I would be gone for. I went straight to the airport after I was finished and met up with Jacob who told me that we were not taking Daniel's private plane, but Daniel was nowhere to be seen.
Jacob told me that he had booked the tickets for him and it would take an hour for the plane to leave the country, but Daniel took the car keys and left, strictly forbidding anyone to follow him, especially his grandfather's bodyguards. No one knew where he had gone or for how long, but I knew exactly where he had gone. He had gone to Sara and that's why he insisted on a normal plane instead of using his own plane, he needed time to go and see her, he had planned it all out.
“If you already know all the answers then why are you asking me?” Daniel replied and I just nodded my head. This matter was none of my business, but I thought that it was a good idea for him to go and see Sara, especially after everything I saw him do the night before. I knew that if he had left without seeing Sara then things could go really bad and God only knows what he would do.
