Chapter 24: Chapter 24

They left the room to pack their bags and arrange their luggage and returned to Stacie and Louie's Room.

"Yo! You’ve done the packing?" Jasper asked Louie.

"Yeah I am" he replied. Ivan checked his wristwatch "10:30am", he tapped his foot restlessly on the floor, folding his arms and checking his watch every minute.

"Argh," she woke up with a scream, he rushed to hold her down, from running out of the room, "Calm down baby," Louie patted her back, as she held his shirt, tears streaming down her face.

"We can't leave." She kept muttering over and over again. Five minutes later, they'd gotten her to calm down.

Patrick throwing the question at her, "You said we couldn’t leave, why?"

Clasping and unclasping her palms, she looked at him, "Because Elena said we couldn’t leave. She said her family wouldn't let us leave, they’d kill us before we do." Then she sobbed, "I don't want to die," she said.

"No one's dying" Louie told her.

"How did you fall asleep?" Jasper asked he wanted to know, as he was curious, but wanted to know if it was the same thing that had happened to him.

"I came in to take Louie's phone and I heard a voice, the voice was strong, it said sleep," and the next thing I knew, I was laying on the bed, the voice was too strong to ignore and so was the urge to sleep.

"Was that how it happened to you Jasper?" Ivan asked him.

"No," he replied, "I wanted to rest for awhile though, and I guessed I slept off, no voice"

"Hum" Ivan sighed, "Now we can't leave." "What did you see in your sleep?" he asked.

"Ivan, it was scary, I saw myself walking to a lake, and there she waited for me, and said her name was Elena Martins, she added that the cabin was cursed by her mother out of anger, pain though she knew why, but we would figure it out ourselves.

I knew not how. She also said that there was a book like a diary, belonging to her mother that we must find and destroy it, she concluded.

Her words, "I know about the book, I think I've mentioned it,” Jasper said rubbing his chin.

"How the fuck, are we to find a book?" Ezekiel bellowed furiously.

"How are we supposed to know?" The rest chorused. None of them noticed that Jasper wasn't in their midst again. They didn't see him leave the room, and they didn’t even notice him rubbing his chin nor buckling his shirt to go out. All were too engrossed in the conversation on finding the book and destroying it in order to leave the cabin.

Everybody thought it would be an easy task not knowing that the worse was yet to happen. The horrors awaited, lurking around them and there they sat in the room thinking hard on what to do and other ways to get out of this mess.
