Chapter 15: Chapter 15

After all the weapons and first aid kits were met, Eva took them to the trunk of the car. Since this was Iris' first assignment, all the members within the base even escorted her to the door.

"That's all? Are you sure there's nothing left?" Tommy asked, leaning his back against the wall. Martin, who cares about Iris, took the time to give her a lemon.

"You have to eat a lot of food like this. We're all sick, anemia." He said a little jokingly and made Shane laugh. But unfortunately, Iris shook her head with a bitter smile as she returned the lemon to him.

"I can eat it later when I get home. My tongue will die if I eat it straight." Iris said a little too much.

"Honey, if you need help, call me. I'll come to get you right away." Jack was as usual, like a goose-stressed from looking for opportunities. Iris ignored Jack for fear she couldn't keep her hand from hitting his face.

She saw Eva wearing her jacket while Allan looked like he had just closed the trunk of the car.

"Ready?" Eva asked in very good condition. Iris closed her eyes nervously.

"If I may, I'd like to bring some more weapons-"

"No, Iris. Control yourself."

Shane, who likes jokes then laughs loudly while holding her stomach.

"You're such a lovely person, Iris. Phew! Come back alive. We're waiting for you here." She said while wiping the tears at the corners of her eyes from laughing too much.

Everyone supported and gave her encouragement. But she couldn't stop her nervousness because this mission involved her life. Just imagining that she was killed by a demon, she didn't dare.

"I-I'm going to the toilet for a bit." She went straight inside. Leaving a few people there who shook their heads trying to understand.

She hastily entered the toilet and urinated for the fourth time before she left for the day. She often urinates when she is nervous.

"How is this... I'm not ready yet." She muttered in a frustrated tone.

When she was done, she stood up and put her underwear back on. But when she stood up, her heart almost jumped out of her chest when before her eyes Jonathan stood up.

"Oh shit! What are you doing here?! Gosh! Turn around!" Iris shrieked loudly.

"Tsk!" Jonathan took a breath once and turned to stare at the toilet wall.

It doesn't even matter that other people would hear his voice. She was so shocked that she felt her heart stop beating. And why did he get into the toilet? Oh god... While glaring in anger, she hastily put on her pants.

"Can't you wait for me a moment? You go inside without knocking on the door. You think this is a tourist spot?" Her scolding immediately made Jonathan a little annoyed. Her shrill voice disturbed his hearing.

"You want your headquarters to be chaotic? How can I show myself in front of your friends." He said and turned around and huddled with Iris in the cramped toilet.

"Tsk! What's wrong?"  Iris asked, stepping back a little and holding on to the wall too so she wouldn't stick to him too much. She knows that he doesn't like too much physical contact with humans.

But instead of speaking, he sighed and his hands rested on the wall behind her. She even held her breath because of Jonathan's strong scent. Her face was too close to his neck.

"I just wanted to make sure you didn't forget my messages yesterday. If you die, your hopes and mine will not come true." Jonathan said this time with a very serious face.

She was a little uncomfortable with their conversation because honestly, she wanted to just run away and go somewhere. Also, what does that hope mean?

"I'm sorry Nathan. I can't control myself. I'm so nervous that I feel like running away." She said despair. She sat back down on the toilet and clutched her head like a stressed person.

"I know. You'll be fine, Ana. I'll be close by if the situation doesn't allow it." Jonathan said, crouching down at her feet.

She didn't think that Jonathan was the one who calmed her down at a tense moment like this. He is even willing to help if the situation is too urgent. What was he thinking all this time?

"What if you don't have time to save me?" She asked with a terrified expression. But her feelings suddenly warmed when he touched her cheek.

"Nothing will happen. I'm as fast as the Flash in case you forget."

Iris smiled a little at his joke to get rid of her nervousness. She nodded with a confident expression.

"Thank you, Nathan." She said thank you with sincerity. Jonathan nodded and grabbed her shoulders.

"Go. I'll keep an eye on you at the usual place." He said and immediately disappeared from her sight.

Iris turned to find Jonathan standing in front of the toilet and then disappeared again. She couldn't get the smile off her lips because a nasty demon-like Jonathan had that side too.

"Iris? Are you okay?"

Iris suddenly jumped in surprise when Eva knocked on the toilet door because she had been in the toilet for too long.

"Y-yes! I'm fine."

After struggling for a long time in the toilet, she and Eva finally went to the location where the demon lived.

"I'll remind you again, Iris. This devil can see the future. So anything we do will be predicted by him quickly." Eva's words reminded Iris again as her attention was focused on the road.

"I know. What I have to do is not to make eye contact with him."

Iris looked at the lucky watch that she always wore. It was a watch from her father's legacy. Her stepfather had worn the watch when he was young. On her birthday, his father gave the watch to her in the hope that she would always be in a lucky circle.

They arrived at the location and deliberately Eva parked a little far from the location because it was dangerous if that demon realized their arrival.

According to the instructions, the demon has the identity of a part-time photographer. And every morning, he would sit at a cafe to drink coffee before he left for work. The two of them also bought coffee there to disguise themselves.

'Ana, can you hear me?'

As she and Eva ordered coffee, suddenly she heard Jonathan's voice in her head.

'Yes, I hear you.' Iris said in her heart. She pretended to play with her cellphone so the demon wouldn't suspect.

'I'll borrow your eyes when you guys fight later.  Make sure you never look him in the eye.'

'I know. What if he reads your future? Aren't you curious about your future?' Iris asked while receiving a cup of coffee from Eva.

'Ana, please just do as I say and don't even try.'
