Kellie finished having a bath and put on very little clothes to quickly make something for dinner before retiring to bed. She found herself wanting to stay more in the bath than her room, she cant believe that her marriage is going to end soon and she is even the one who initiated it.
Before she got married to Joel, everyone talked about how incompatible they are because of their age difference but she insisted and promised herself to make sure their marriage work out to prove to everyone against it that she is not wrong in her decisions.
At the beginning of their relationship everything was so beautiful but then he was busy with a lot of projects and even forget to come home sometimes, after that days after days he wont come home and even when she sees him he is always tired and too busy to see that she needs him, coupled with his parent issue with her giving birth she was getting filled up and pour all her energy into work trying not to take his behaviour to heart but he never changed and then his mother came to visit, begging her to please divorce her son…
Kellie got out of bed and went to the restroom to get something to drink, she noticed that this days she just gets tired and feels irritated easily thinking its the stress of getting divorced.
She opened the fridge and then heard a knock at the door, its evening and she wanted to retire to bed early and wondered who it is
“yes, I didn’t call for any room service..” she was saying as she opened the door and was surprised to see Joel instead
“How did you get to know about this place and why are you here?” she asked pissed off at him
“Your mother told me after kneeling for a whole day at your house” he answered tiredly and made to enter but Kellie stopped him
“please am very tired just let me in okay” he said and entered the room before she could protest against it
“you still haven't answered my question, I just asked why you are here?” she questioned
“am your husband, do I need a reason to see my wife?” his answer earned a scoff from Kellie
“that’s only on the papers and that will soon change” she replied and sat down in a seat opposite him
“are you really giving up on us” he asked getting serious
“there was no us to begin with, just I and am done” she answered almost in a yell and stand up angrily
“can you get out if that’s all you are here to talk about” she said and motioned for him to leave. Joel stood up and walk closer to her then he slowly place his hand on her shoulders
“you promised that you will keep our vows, you decide against all odds to get married to me and promised you will never divorce but now you are breaking over a little issue”
“little issue? Did you just say a little issue? We’ve been married for about five years now without a child, I’ve never gotten pregnant for once and you say small issue” she screamed pushing him away
“And I told you I don’t mind!” he yelled back
“Then you should have made that clear with your parent!” she also yelled more loudly.
Joel tried to calm down seeing that she is already very angry and getting worked up wouldn't solve the situation
“get out! Get out right now!” Kellie shouted at him and turn to walk into the bedroom but he held her back and hugged her from the back
“Am sorry, I didn’t mean to scream at you” he apologized but Kellie wasn’t hearing any of it and pushed him away but he wouldn't let go
“get off me” Kellie said tiredly after struggling for a few seconds
“only if you hear me out please” he pleaded hopefully and Kellie finally calm down
“what do you have to say?” she asked and he let go a little
“Am sorry for everything, my parents, about the baby and everything please don’t leave me. I really cant live without you”
“that has been your line for more than a year now”
“am serious this time, whatever it is you want I will listen, I already call it quit at the lab and applied for a leave at the company I will stay with you always from now on” he said pleading
“just leave my sight, I don’t want to see you” she said after a minute and went inside the room then lock the door after her to prevent him from coming in. She waited to hear any movement from him but there was none, she walked to the bed and lay down then closed her eyes to sleep but couldn’t. she tried not to think about anything but the thoughts about their relationship keeping flowing in
Kellie was the school most handsome girl and the most brilliant student back then in high school, She was a tomboy and act like a guy so much that people often mistake her for one and she even dated quite a number of girls who wouldn't leave until she goes on a date with them and because of that, she was given the tittle of the most handsome guy beating all the boys in her school.
Her school always compete with Joel's school and she always represent her school, It was on one of the occasion that she met with Joel and helped him when he was been bullied by some guys, she sacred them away and sent them off pretending to be a guy then she helped Joel up and he immediately fell in love with her. Not minding that she’s a guy he start to follow her around and asked her out but Kellie will ignore him because she is in her final year and he’s just in the first year.
But after sometimes she decide to date him pretending to be a guy thinking it wouldn't last long before he give up since he wouldn't be able to face the criticism of being gay by others but he persisted and even made their relationship public. Kellie’s heart slowly start to melt and she begin to fell slowly in love with him then revealed to him that she is actually a girl, he was angry at first then she appealed him with a ring and promised to marry him.
They continued dating till they got married despite everyone’s objection about the difference in age, family and background but Kellie insisted and worked hard to meet up with his status and stand beside him proudly…
