Chapter 95: Chapter 95

“More… More wine.”

Rebecca beckoned her servant. There were about six empty bottles of wine lying on the ground beside her.

Belching drunkenly, she gulped down the wine that her servant had filled in the glass she was holding. She laughed hysterically and then burst into laughter.

“What does she have that I don't have? Of all the women in the world, why does it have to be Valerie who is Audrey's mother? I can't take this anymore.” She wailed.

The thought that Valerie was gradually taking Ethan from her made her freak out the more.

“Hey! Am I not beautiful? Can't I also have a baby?” She tapped the servant.

Gulping hard, the dismayed servant shook her head. “You… You are beautiful, ma'am.”

“You liar!” She suddenly yelled at her. The servant flinched in fear.

“I… I'm sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to annoy you. Please forgive me.” The servant begged.

Rebecca snorted. “How dare you lie to me? If you are telling the truth, then why doesn't he love me the way he cares about Valerie? It's been so many years… So many years, and I've been by his side all these years. I kept praying that he would at least look my way or notice me, instead he started caring for a mere slave.”

“Can… Can I say something, please, ma'am?” The servant broke the silence.

“Speak!”

“You are a beautiful lady, and you are sophisticated. If he doesn't care about you the way he should, I think you should just let him be. There are many people who wish to be with you and…” The servant was still talking when Rebecca sprang up and grabbed her by her neck.

“How dare you suggest I should leave my man just because of that peasant? Are you proposing that I lose to her? I can lose to any other person, but not a common servant.” Rebecca growled at her.

The servant coughed helplessly, gasping for air. Rebecca forcefully let go of her throat and she continued coughing. “I didn't mean to get you angry, ma'am.”

“Get lost! You're only adding to my situation. So useless!” Rebecca yelled at her as she rushed out of the room.

She burst into tears again. “Valerie! Valerie. You have bitten more than you can chew. I'll make you regret ever getting to know Ethan. Nothing will stop me from bringing you down.”

“Let's put our hands together as I welcome the celebrant's mother, Miss Valerie Watson.”

Valerie, who couldn't hold her tears of joy, walked to the platform. For the first time, she was so proud of being a mother. She never thought she would see her daughter's face again.

Picking up the microphone, she cleared her throat noisily. “Good evening, everyone. I'm short of words and at the same time, I have a lot to say. This is the happiest day of my life. I'm so grateful to God for giving me an opportunity to be a mother to my daughter, even when I thought that I would never set my eyes on her again. Happy birthday, Audrey. I'll always love you, my baby.”

With that, she was applauded as she walked down the platform. The guests started murmuring within themselves.

“She's President Ethan's baby mama? Oh my God.”

“I never knew Audrey's mother was still alive”

“This is so surprising.”

Valerie was shown to the high table, where she sat right beside Ethan. Her nervousness knew no bounds. She couldn't believe that the man beside her was actually the father of her child. She thought.

“Isn't this world full of mysteries?”

“Oh my f****** God. Can you see the news on the television, Mom?” Patricia rushed to her mother, who was in the kitchen getting some cocktails from the refrigerator.

Claudia rushed out, leaving the drink on the kitchen slab. She quickly turned on the television as her jaw dropped in shock. “President Ethan of Davison's empire is Valerie's baby's father?”

She felt like she was stabbed in the heart. Instead of going hungry and dying off that she had always wished for her stepdaughter, she became the mother of the billionaire's daughter.

“Oh, no. Mommy, what are we going to do? Are we going to watch her get every good thing in life? Yes, I am married to Justin, but I'm not even living happily with him. He hates me so much.” Patricia cried out.

Claudia shook her head. “No. No. There's no way I'll let her be in peace. I have an idea.”

“What is it?”

Claudia whispered some inaudible words into her ear and they laughed hysterically.

“That will be the best anniversary ever. Even the devil will not be able to save her from our hands. That's why I love you, Mom.” Patricia laughed.
