Chapter 86: Chapter 86
“How dare you, Justin? Why are you finding it difficult to understand the fact that I am your wife? You are married to me legally, don't you get it?” Patricia broke into tears as she threw the parcel at him.
Actually, she had just gotten the parcel from the delivery man. It was the parcel her husband had sent to her stepsister.
“She… She returned it, huh? Didn't she like the color? Does that mean that her leg got bigger, and it doesn't fit her?” Justin sprang up from the couch with his eyes widened.
Patricia sniffed hard in heartbreak. “Excuse you?”
“Why did she return it? Did you ask the delivery man?” He anxiously inquired.
“Damn you, Justin! Damn you! I'm your wife, for goodness's sake. You just cheated on me by sending gifts to your ex-girlfriend who happens to be my stepsister, and you have the guts to ask me that?” Patricia cried out.
Justin bowed his head. “I… I only sent a gift to her. Not like I've seen her for god-knows-how-long.”
“Are you supposed to send a gift to your ex-girlfriend? She's my stepsister, don't you know that? Tell me, what does she f****** have that I don't have?” Patricia freaked out.
Justin, who couldn't take it anymore, flared up angrily. “What? Do you really want to know what she has that you don't have? She has my love, and you don't have that. You deceived me, Patricia. You and I know that it's Valerie who I loved and still love.”
“Why? Why do you keep doing this to me? I love you, Justin. What can't you love me back?” Patricia continued sobbing.
Justin walked closer to her and mumbled. “You want to know the reason I can't love you back? That's because I can't tell my heart whom to love. Yes, you're carrying my baby, but that doesn't mean that I love you.”
“You're so mean. I've done practically everything for you to love me. What more do you want? Valerie is in no way better than me.” Patricia continued sobbing as Justin walked away.
Then, she felt a sharp pain in her waist and screamed. Justin halted and turned around. Water rolled down her legs. Justin quickly rushed back to her. “Are you okay?”
“The… The baby… Ouch! I think the baby is coming.” She wailed as he aided her out of the house.
…
Valerie smiled uneasily. She felt like she was getting to get little Audrey annoyed, so she rephrased. “What I mean was… what if someone breaks rule no.2?”
“No one can ever do that. I won't allow that.” She snorted.
With that, Valerie gulped helplessly. What exactly was wrong with her? Why would she even think of such things?
“He's just your boss, Valerie. You can't think of getting close to him. That is practically impossible.” She thought within herself.
Audrey, on the other hand, couldn't take her eyes off Valerie. She saw how disturbed she was. “Miss old-fashioned?”
“Yes… Yes.” Valerie snapped, turning her gaze to her.
“Do you like my daddy?” She asked, and Valerie choked in shock.
Blinking her eyes rapidly, Valerie made for a bottle of water, and got almost all of it down. “Why… Why do you ask that?”
“Oh come on, I'm not a little kid, okay? Something tells me you like my daddy.” Audrey shook her head.
Valerie snapped. “You are a little kid, Audrey. You shouldn't be saying things like this.”
“But Miss old-fashioned, I just can't keep it in without saying it. So, tell me. Do you like my daddy? Would you like to be my mommy?” Audrey asked anxiously.
“Uhm… Some things are very impossible, and this is one of them. There is no way your Daddy will let me be your mommy. He can only get married to someone who likes.” Valerie bowed her head, sadly.
Audrey chuckled, leaving Valerie confused. “Who says he doesn't like you?”
Upon hearing that, Valerie walked to the door and looked around to make sure no one was hearing what Audrey was saying. She lowered her voice and said, “Audrey, even if you can tell everything, I'm sure you can't tell this one.”
“Miss old-fashioned, I don't have a problem if you like my daddy. You are the only one who can, like my daddy, and can break rule no.2.” Audrey replied.
Valerie stared at Audrey with tears in her eyes. For some reason, she saw herself in Audrey. Sniffing hard, she blinked back her tears. “Audrey, where would you like to go?”
“Really? You'd take me there, right?” Audrey gasped in excitement.
Valerie nodded. “Yes. I'll take you anywhere you want to go. I'm going to be your mommy for today, okay?”
Excitement was an understatement for how the little girl felt. She hugged Valerie tight as tears of joy rolled down her cheeks. “Can I call you mommy?”
“Yes.” Valerie couldn't hold back her tears.
“Mommy?” Audrey hugged her tighter.
