Chapter 67: Chapter 67
“I said, where is the freaking nanny who made my son lay his hands on Rebecca. Get down here with your packed luggage because you're leaving the mansion today.”
Fear gripped Valerie. The voice alone was enough to terrify anyone. Grabbing the duvet, she yanked it off her body.
“Sir, please, I don't want to lose my job” She cried helplessly.
Ethan smiled at her calm, and reassured her. “You don't have anything to worry about. I guarantee you that you still have your job.”
Even with the reassurance, Valerie was still scared. How would she face the mother of the President? Should she have allowed Rebecca to throw her out in the first place?
Reluctantly, President Ethan turned to her and saw how scared she looked. “I know you are worried, but you have nothing to worry about because I'm going downstairs to talk to my mother.”
Valerie nodded her head, and Ethan walked out of the room. As soon as he left, Valerie got down from the bed. Her ankle was twisted, so walking was so difficult for her. She groaned in pain as she limped out of the room. Likewise, she couldn't go down the stairs because of the twisted ankle, so she stood on the balcony and sighted the furious looking woman yelling at the top of her voice.
“Oh God! Why am I always this unfortunate? I wish I never saw the President at the bar last night. Stupid me! I shouldn't have drank with him.”
Meanwhile, President Ethan walked majestically down the stairs. “Good morning, Mom. You didn't let me know that you were coming over.”
With puckered brows, Lady Davison glared at him. “Should I?”
“Why is your face all swollen up, Rebecca? You look like someone who was thoroughly beaten up.” Ethan narrowed his eyes as he stared at Rebecca.
Shockingly, Rebecca's face was swollen, and her body was bloody like she had been beaten up by some tugs. “Are you seriously asking me that, Ethan? You had me beaten up just because of a mere nanny.”
“I had you beaten up?” Ethan was shocked and gobsmacked to even say a word.
Lady Davison flared up. “How could you do that, Ethan? Have you forgotten that Rebecca flew back all the way here just to get married to you, and this is what you did to her because of a nanny?”
“I can't believe you, Rebecca. What do you mean by that I had you beaten up like this? Mom, I think you should also listen to my side of the story.”
Rebecca fell on the ground, groaning in pain. “Aunty, what wrong did I do by coming back here? Just take a good look at me, I'm a shadow of myself. Nothing will stop me from filing a case.”
Lady Davison helped her up, and hugged her tightly. “You don't have to worry, Becca. I'll make sure the good for nothing maid gets locked up in the jail.”
“Please do, Aunt. If not, I'll have to take care of this the best way I can. If Ethan doesn't want me anymore, why would he choose a nanny over me.” Rebecca feigned tears.
Furiously, Lady Davison turned to her son, who was still baffled by Rebecca's drama. “Bring that stupid girl here. I want to see who she is, and I want her to pay dearly for bewitching my son into doing this to his fiancée.”
“Mom, I wasn't bewitched or under any spell. I can't remember this happening to Rebecca. What sort of charade is this?” Ethan snorted.
“Rebecca was right. You'll do anything you can just to side with that nanny.”
“Grandma?”
They turned their glances sharply. It was little Audrey. She walked down the stairs. “Baby Audrey!”
Audrey smiled. She turned to Rebecca and puckered her brows. “What happened to Rebecca?”
“Baby, I thought you were getting lectures from your home teacher? What are you doing out here?” Ethan gulped hard.
He didn't want his little daughter to witness his mother calling her beloved nanny names. Of course, he knows how bad that would be because Audrey would always side with Valerie.
Lady Davison snapped. “Baby, you have to show grandma where the nanny is. She's not fit to be your nanny because she only came to ruin our family.”
With confusion boldly written on Audrey's face, she scratched her head then smiled. “That's not true, grandma. Miss old-fashioned is really nice, she'll never do anything to ruin our family.”
Rebecca burst into tears again. “I told you, aunt. Everyone is just on her side.”
“Daddy, I want Rebecca out of here. I would rather not see her anymore” Audrey cried out, pointing at Rebecca.
Ethan walked to his mother, and held her hands, but she slapped his hand off. “There's nothing you or anyone can say to me to change my mind.”
Valerie, on the other hand, was watching what was going on from the balcony. Tears filled her eyes. She felt bad that the President and his daughter were going through all this just because of her. Reluctantly, she limped downstairs. Her twisted ankle was hurting so bad, but she managed to get down the stairs.
“I said, where is she? Bring that Valerie out here this minute, or I'll be forced to have the security guards drag her out.”
“I'm here, ma'am” Her innocent, teary voice said from behind.
Without hesitation, Lady Davison walked towards her in annoyance and raised her hand to slap her, but Ethan grabbed her hand. They all gasped in shock.
Lady Davison widened her eyes in shock as she stared at her hand, her son was still holding her hand in the air. “Ethan Davison? What is the meaning of this?”
“Mom, if you must punish Valerie, then you'll have to punish me too.” Ethan replied to the surprise of everyone.
“How dare you, Ethan? I am your mother, and you have the temerity to speak to me with that tone?” She freaked out.
Fuming with anger, Lady Davison snatched her hand from him. “Nothing will stop me from throwing this flirtatious servant out of the villa.”
“Valerie is going nowhere, Mom.” Ethan confidently said.
“You'll have to choose between her and me, Ethan. Are you going to side with her or are you going to side with your birth mother?” Lady Davison asked bitterly.
“Mom?”
