Chapter 110: Chapter 110
Tears circulated in her eyes. It was tears of joy, definitely. She never dreamt, or even thought, that she would see herself being engaged in such a romantic way. Being a surrogate mother was undoubtedly the best decision of her life.
She couldn't help but jump in excitement as the man of her dreams knelt right in front of her with her beautiful daughter.
The servants and some of Ethan's friends were cheering her. “Say yes! Say yes!! Say yes!!!”
“Please be my mommy. This has always been my dream, I've always wanted to be with my mother. Make my dream come true, Mom.” Audrey held her pinky finger as she handed the banquet of flowers to her.
Valerie sniffed hard, and nodded in agreement. “Yes… Yes, I will marry you.”
Immediately she said those words, Ethan slipped the diamond ring on her finger and quickly carried her up. Everyone cheered in excitement.
As soon as he dropped her, they locked their lips together, making their little daughter blush. Audrey quickly covered her eyes with her palms.
“We're getting a wedding soon. My mommy and daddy will be married soon.” Audrey kept rejoicing.
On the other hand, Anastasia, who couldn't stand seeing how lovey-dovey Valerie and Ethan were, stormed out of the sitting room.
“This is practically unbelievable. How was that little witch able to get the President's love? I can't believe this, I must report this to Miss Rebecca. How could she let that peasant has her man?” She mumbled.
Without hesitation, she brought her phone out of her apron's pocket as she sneaked into the store room.
“Hello, who is this?” The voice from the end sounded rather rude. Of course, she wasn't surprised that Rebecca didn't save her number.
She lowered her voice and responded. “Miss Rebecca, shouldn't you be mourning instead of yelling rudely at me?”
“Who the f*** Are you? How dare you talk to me in that manner when you don't know who I am? And what should I be mourning about?” Rebecca continued ranting.
Anastasia scoffed. “All this while, I've been trying to help you fix things, but what? You've always treated me like garbage. Now, that peasant has taken President Ethan away from you.”
“Ana… Anastasia?” She stuttered.
After a few seconds of silence, Anastasia continued. “Surprising how you could still recall my name. I thought you must have forgotten everything about me, including my name.”
“What are you talking about? I don't understand the thing that you're saying.” Rebecca sounded really anxious this time.
Breathing hard, Anastasia snorted. “You're cordially invited to President Ethan's wedding with his beloved baby mama, Valerie Watson. I hope you'll be present because it's happening soon… very soon, actually.”
“Don't… Don't tell me Ethan actually proposed to her. That's wrong, right?” Rebecca's voice sounded teary.
Anastasia sighed. “I wish I could say it's all a lie, but no! It's not. You should have seen the way the president proposed to her, like a princess. They're getting married soon.”
Rebecca broke into tears. “F*** it! No damn way. Hell no!”
“Hell yeah, Miss Rebecca. Anyway, I just thought to inform you that your fiancé is actually engaged to his fiancée.” Anastasia rolled her eyes.
Sniffing hard, Rebecca replied. “That's not happy. Over my f****** dead body.”
“You better act fast if you don't want to lose him to her. Goodbye!” She hung up and smirked.
“I can't have her become mistress in this mansion. How do I take orders from that girl who I loathe the most? I hope Miss Rebecca can stop her.”
At the Watson's Residence, Patricia rushed upstairs with the newspaper she had in her hand. She ran into her mother's room, startling the hell out of Claudia.
“What the… What's going on, Pat? Are you okay?” Claudia jumped up from the bed, breathing rapidly.
Panting hard, Patricia handed the newspapers to her. “Take a look at this, Mom. Valerie is actually getting married to the powerful heir of the Davison's family, Davison, Ethan.”
“That's impossible. Who would want to marry that lousy…” Claudia shut her mouth on seeing the first heading of the newspaper.
Clasping her palm on her mouth, she mumbled. “Oh, my goodness!”
Patricia burst into tears. “This is the life that I f****** want, Mom. Why is Valerie getting everything that I ever wanted?”
“Do you think this is a time to wail? Your god-damned stepsister is about to become the mistress of the most influential family all over the country, and here you are crying like a baby.” Claudia half yelled at her.
Sniffing hard, Patricia turned to her mother. “What would you have me do, Mom? I was the one… I really was the one who was asked to become a surrogate mother to get money for Daddy's treatment, but you stopped me and said it was Valerie who should become a mother while I continued studying. You've ruined my life, Mom.”
“Really now, huh? Is that what we are here for? Taking blame or getting blamed? This is why your stepsister is always ahead of you because you're so dumb. Shouldn't we be thinking of the best way to get you to the top instead of pointing fingers at each other?” Claudia growled at her.
Gulping hard, Patricia sniffed. “Thinking of the best way for me to get to the top? Oh, please stop joking, Mom. This is no joke, okay?”
“What joke? You think I want that girl to be at the top while you're left with a baby and a broken marriage?” Claudia rolled her eyes.
Patricia scratched her head. “Do you have a plan, Mom?”
“Of course, I can't be that dull. Dumb girl!” Claudia smacked her head.
Patricia grumbled. “Ouch. That hurts, Mom.”
“That's because you're dumb. Don't worry, that wedding will be a flop, trust me.” Claudia assured her.
Patricia smiled with fulfillment. “Thank you, mom.”
At the Davison's villa, The doorbell rang noisily. Valerie was seated alone on the balcony. Without hesitation, she walked to the door and opened it up.
“Ethan? Why the hell would you be pressing the doorbell when you can actually come in?” She raised her brows.
He smiled. “Because I want you to come out. I have a surprise for you.” He kissed her lips.
“Really?” She chuckled.
He nodded. “Yeah. But you'll have to wear a blindfold.”
“Do I have to?” She blinked rapidly.
He brought a blindfold out, and replied. “Yes, love.”
Without any further reluctance, he tied the blindfold to her eyes and led her carefully. They got to a point where he stopped. “Are you ready?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. Here we go… Taxa.” He took the blindfold off, and Valerie's jaw dropped in shock.
In front of her was the latest 'Bugatti La Voiture Noire' car. Ethan dangled the key in front of her.
Clasping her palm over her mouth, Valerie felt her legs go jelly. “This isn't a dream, right?”
