Chapter 104: Chapter 104
Valerie disengaged the kiss forcefully, breathing heavily.
“President Ethan, you're drunk!” She managed to speak up.
Laughing hysterically, Ethan blurted out. “Drunk? Hell no! I'm not drunk, Valerie. I know what I'm saying. How could you do this to me? You went out on a date with a man, really?”
“What… What are you talking about? You just need to rest, please let me take you to your room.” Valerie said as she aided him and they walked upstairs.
Ethan continued. “Oh, Valerie! Can't you see it, or are you just pretending that you don't understand? I care about you! You're mine, Valerie. Nothing can come between us.”
She exhaled deeply and mumbled within herself. “He's probably drunk, whatever he's saying now doesn't count.”
They got to the room and Valerie helped him to the bed. He was so heavy that Valerie couldn't drop him on the bed, so they ended up falling into the bed together.
Immediately, Valerie struggled up from the bed, but Ethan grabbed her arm and hugged her tight. “You must never leave me, Valerie! Don't go on a date with a random person anymore.”
Before Valerie could say a word, Ethan glued his lips to hers again. Without resisting, they sucked each other's lips like their life depended on it.
After a few minutes of snogging, Ethan slept off while Valerie quickly got up from the bed. Her heart was beating fast as she stormed out of the room.
“Was he saying the truth?”
Thoughts of what President Ethan told her filled her mind. She kept thinking of it until she slept off.
Sunlight crept from the balcony at the other side of the room, shining over the blanket wrapped around Valerie's thin frame.
Somehow, everything that happened last night felt like a dream to her, at least, until her hands slid across the silky sheets around her.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she yawned hungrily and picked up her cellphone. “8:10am? Did I oversleep again? Thank goodness! My daughter's school is still on vacation.”
Her cheeks turned red immediately, she thought of President Ethan. How was she going to face him?
She was still contemplating when a knock on her door smacked her back to consciousness. “Yes? Who's there?”
“Miss Watson, breakfast is served. President Ethan and Audrey are waiting in the dining room for you.”
At the mention of “President Ethan” her heart skipped a beat. “I… I won't be eating with them today. Please bring my food to my room.”
“Okay, ma'am.”
Meanwhile, President Ethan couldn't wait to see Valerie, so he wanted to wait for her to come downstairs for breakfast.
The servant walked to the dining room. “Sir, she won't be eating breakfast with you.”
“What? Why?” He snapped.
The servant continued. “I have no idea, President. She'd rather eat in her room.”
“Okay!” He replied, even though he wasn't happy with the way it turned out.
At Lady Davison's mansion, the servant walked into the living room where she was sitting with Rebecca, and placed the glasses of smoothie on the table for them before walking away.
“Auntie, Ethan is slipping away from me slowly. He hardly calls me to check up on me. I think I've lost him for good.” Rebecca sobbed.
Lady Davison consoled her. “You… Do you think I'll let that happen? Becca, you're the one I want for my son. Nothing will change that fact.”
“I know, auntie, but everything is slowly falling apart. All this is because of that godforsaken girl, Valerie. Ever since she showed up, she has succeeded in tearing Ethan and me apart.” Rebecca bitterly lamented.
“The ball is in your court, Rebecca. I can assure you that my son is definitely going to marry you, but what are you doing to guarantee that?” Lady Davison sipped the smoothie.
With her eyebrows twitched, Rebecca asked anxiously. “What do you mean, auntie?”
“Do I really need to explain everything to you, Rebecca? Are you going to let that nobody snatch him away from you? You have to act fast if you don't want to lose Ethan.” Lady Davison continued.
Rebecca scratched her head, confused. “What would you have me do, auntie? I'll do anything to stop that slut from messing with my man.”
“Get pregnant for him. You must get him in between your thighs, that way it will be a child for a child. And I can stand my ground that he must marry you.” Lady Davison smirked mischievously.
Rebecca choked. “You want me to… to…?”
“You don't want to?” She asked.
Without hesitation, Rebecca snapped. “Of course, I will.”
“Good girl! You know what to do.”
Simultaneously, Valerie tiptoed down the stairs when she thought Ethan must have left the house. She has been avoiding him since morning.
“Are you just waking up now, Valerie? Why didn't you have breakfast with us?” Ethan's voice frightened her.
Gulping hard, she smiled nervously. “You… Why haven't you gone to work? I thought you already left.”
“Is that why you came out? Because you thought I wasn't home?” Ethan snapped.
“Uhm… Yes… I mean no.” She stuttered.
Ethan smiled. He walked closer to her, while she stepped backwards. After a few steps backwards, she landed her back on the wall. “What… What are you doing?”
“Are you scared that I might kiss you again?”
Valerie gasped. “I… I feel hot. I'll take a cold shower.”
“No way, belle.” He smiled rather mischievously. “Don't you want to hear if I meant what I said last night?”
“You were drunk, President. Nothing happened.” Valerie snapped.
Ethan grabbed her by the waist. “Something happened, and I'm taking full responsibility for it.”
“What?”
Valerie bulged her eyes out in shock. She wanted to speak, but words refused to come out of her mouth.
“Darling, I'm here.”
Ethan quickly let go of Valerie and they turned around. He gushed. “Rebecca? What are you doing here?”
Rebecca walked towards him with a mischievous grin, and glared at Valerie. “Are you that pleased to see me?”
