Chapter 46: Chapter 46
She went to the kitchen to see if she could find something to eat. It was dark outside. She had been sleeping for almost two hours. She was so tired that she remembered nothing else than to doze off in her dreamland. Guess, she was jut-leged.
It was alright as she had nothing else to do. Thomas was still sulking probably. To think that she took him as some mature man while he was nothing but a child. At least, his behavior indicated that.
She was wearing a long red sundress that reached her ankles. It was sleeveless and had black printed flowers all over. Her best friend had left her with no choice than to move around with dresses inside the house. She could not walk around wearing nothing but a lingerie. What would Thomas think if he saw her in it? He would probably think she was trying to seduce him or something. She would never do that! He already had this giant ego. She would not want to be the reason for the further expansion of his ego. She had to get a few comfortable shirts and pants first thing in the morning even if it meant going alone shopping. She could not go on like that forever.
With her hair let loose, she started looking for food. There was a fridge in the kitchen, but it had nothing except some fruits. She thought it would be stocked like his fridge at home but no!
‘Home? It’s not your home.’ Her mind reasoned with her. It was true. Her home was where her mom lived. She truly missed her mom a lot.
Oh crap! She forgot to call her mom. She must have been so worried about her. It was the first time she had gone out of the country.
She hurriedly went to fetch her phone from her room and called her mom. She did not pick up.
'May be, she is sleeping.' She thought and left a text telling her that she had reached safely.
She came to the kitchen again . There were a few apples. She picked one and started peeling it. Eating the apple without peeling always resulted into indigestion for her. She cut it into a few pieces and was about to eat one when her hand was stopped midway.
She looked behind her to see Thomas with a little frown on his face.
“Let’s go out and have dinner.” He said as he grabbed the apple and put it in the plate. She put some distance between them.
He had basically caged her from around, but it did not seem like he wanted to make her feel uncomfortable; he had just quickly came to stop her from eating the apple.
“You can go. I am not hungry.” She tried to act cool but something happened that made her ‘uncool’ instantly. Her stomach grumbled. Loud enough for Thomas to hear.
Her cheeks reddened with embarrassment.
“Let’s go.” There was a hint of smile in his voice. She wanted to glare at him. But she was so embarrassed that she could not even do that.
“I am not going.” She shook her head stubbornly. She did not forget what he said to her that afternoon. He called her a schoolgirl and mocked her. She could take direct anger but not mocking. For some reason, it made her feel like she was worthless in the eyes of the other person.
It was not like she cared about what he thought of her but still…
‘You do care, Olivia. Don’t lie to yourself.’ Her subconscious reminded her. She scrunched her nose. Whatever!
He was already dressed as if he was waiting for her to wake up. And that was exactly the case.
He was wearing black button down shirt and cream pants. He had been waiting for her to wake up for over two hours. His thoughts kept him occupied the entire time. He was surprised at himself for pecking her forehead. What did it mean? Why was he so attracted to her?
Even when he had the opportunity to ogle every inch of her body or do what he wanted to do to her, he could not bring himself to do that. He also did not want to keep pestering her when she had clearly said she did not want anything happening between them. He was respecting her choices and values. He was not like that.
Before her, he always thought of himself only. It was all about what he wanted, not about what anyone else wanted.
And now too, when he heard some commotion from the kitchen, he quietly went to see if she had woken up. He had thought of taking her to dinner. He found her peeling some apples. Even a simple action like that was enough to drive him crazy.
The way she was softly handing the apple and the concentration with which she was working stilled him beside the door.
Her hair looked angelic in soft waves and the dress she was wearing matched her skin tone. Her soft milky arms were exposed. Her back curves were doing things to him.
Even when he cursed at himself to get a grip, he did not seem to stop himself from desiring her. He tried to forget the images of her in the shower or when she was sleeping on her bed. It made him guilty that he had seen her in conditions she would not have liked otherwise.
He quickly went to stop her as she brought a piece of apple to her mouth. He did not want her to feast on a fruit. He had already booked reservations at a restaurant which he knew she would like.
But now, she was being stubborn. Instead of being annoyed at her actions, he found it adorable. She was still mad at him, it seemed.
It was funny. He should have been the one to be mad at her. She had called him childish, immature, not needed and whatnot!
But there he was finding everything she did adorable even the grumble of her stomach.
She was standing there with folded arms and a cute frown on her face. He concluded that she would not listen to him. She was stubborn.
He went ahead and grabbed her waist throwing her on his shoulder like she weighed nothing. Olivia shrieked at the sudden movement. Her head spun as he started walking towards outside.
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” She yelled but he just kept on taking big strides. She started punching his back which felt like a stone. She was afraid she was not hurting him at all with her punches. It was her hands on the receiving end of the punches.
She quit her futile punching and just yelled at him. He was acting like he was not listening to her at all. Had he gotten deaf?
He stopped only when they were beside the car. She got quiet when she spotted the driver. She did not want to create a scene in front of him.
The driver opened the door for them and he tossed her inside, not forcefully though. He had to do that as she was clutching on his shirt tightly and refusing to get in.
She glared at him when he took a seat beside her and told the driver to start the car.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” She asked with clenched teeth. She had her hands in tight fist by her sides. Thomas looked at her.
Tigress! It was all his mind could think at that moment.
Her hair had gotten ruffled after the struggle she had put and her nose had gotten red with anger. Her cheeks were also flushed. He had never seen such a cute tigress.
“There was nothing there to eat. There is a cozy restaurant just around the corner. We will have dinner and then come back.” He informed coolly. His coolness was making her angrier. There she was fuming and he had the nerve to act so normal after throwing her like a sack of potatoes on his shoulder and then on the car seat.
How could he act so calmly after how he irked her?
“I am not hungry. You can go and have your dinner. Leave me alone, will you?” She said glaring at him. He could not get a simple point across his thick head. She did not want to talk to him or be around him. That was all there was to understand but no!
As if one embarrassment a day was not enough, her stomach roared again.
Her eyes widened looking at Thomas who was trying to refrain himself from laughing. Horrified, she turned her head away and stared out of the window.
Why the hell would her stomach choose to act the moment she said she was not hungry? It happened for the second time, and she did not think she could face him now.
She could hear that jerk laugh his ass off while she just sat there hiding her face from him.
