Chapter 6: Chapter 6

The next morning Chloe woke up in a queen sized bed and for a moment she lost her bearings wondering how she even got here from her ghetto apartments. Her head spun from the hangovers she had from the vodka she took last night.

She looked at her messy room, where the vodka bottle and the glass she used to drink laid on the floor. Chloe hissed, her head still banging from the headache she got from the hangover.

She suddenly recalled that she had made a deal with a very smart businessman in order to help him have revenge on his deadly brother for betraying him.

"The damn problem I put myself into," she complained to herself, trying to organize her work wear.

"What should I wear?" She tried so hard to distract herself but the thought of the game she was about to play kept flashing back in her mind.

"If I betray Neil, my sister would die and if I get caught by Nate, I would lose my life. This is really a hard game to play, I wonder if my lucky cards will come around, I'm not sure I will be so lucky this time." She tried so hard not to overthink the problem in front of her right now, two deadly brothers who would do anything to be the main business tycoon.

She decided that she was going to call her sister later, because right now she had to prepare for work in Nate's company. Despite the fact that she had her life on the line for this job she was relieved about a couple of things. One of them was that, she was not going to lose her sister to cancer the main thing that was pushing her to this quest that many would call a suicide mission.

The fact that she could sleep knowing that her sister was in a private hospital under good care, and that she would not have to worry about losing the only family member she had left in this world calmed her thudding heart. Another thing was that she had missed her luxury life, and the good taste of wealth which was presented before her was properly dished with a spice of danger.

She felt like she was truly alive again, not like when she was still doing meager jobs that paid her almost nothing but peanuts. She recalled how she had given up her wealth to save her sister's life and how she was molested by a bar manager because of her womanly curves. Chloe's hope rose, at least she would be able to gather a little money if her plan goes haywire.

As she was washing herself up her mind found itself strolling on many things until it finally settled down on Nate, her new boss, the man was indeed very handsome. In fact saying that he was handsome was an understatement, one could say he was a demigod like the Adonis but what was even more dangerous than the fact that he was handsome was that he knew, and was fully aware of how striking his looks were, and that he was able to grab the attention of any pretty cheek.

She recalled the moment she looked into his ocean blue eyes. She could tell that those eyes had looked at many women, making them immediately lose their self control and do anything that he had ordered, but she promised herself that she was not going to be one of those women he flirted with and played around with.

"I'm not gonna be his puppet, I'm more than that, I'm smart and determined but my guts wanna fail me now."

When she got out of her warm bubble bath, she got another call from Neil. Of course she did not save his name down as Neil so that she was not going to make Nate suspicious by having his brother's number on her phone instead she saved him as the laundry man.

Then she saved another number that had already been prepared by Neil beforehand as to where she should be having fake conversations that will be revealed to Nate if she ever needed to pick another piece of his trust badly.

"Good morning sir, is there any new information that I need to know?" She spoke in a solemn voice, still trying to get over the sharp pain in her head.

"Good morning to you as well Miss Blair I'm glad that you took my correction yesterday to heart." Neil spoke in a gentleman's tone. He had forgotten what he wanted to say so he tried to stall her.

As soon as he said that she clicked her tongue in anger and released a patient sigh from her lips as she tried to calm herself down. "So is there any new information that I should know, something that could help make this mission faster because as it is, I'm getting nervous,"

She repeated herself again, this time making a general confession as she glanced at her clock. The last thing that she wanted was to be late to work on her very first day.

She wanted to make a very good first impression on her face on the day of work. Besides, she was going to be Nate's personal secretary and it was going to be a disaster if the boss would arrive before her. She placed the phone on her ear using her neck to support it as she scanned the drawer for the pain killers she had there. She took the pain killers and the glass of water on her counter to send it down her system.

"Someone wants to be a good secretary," Neil teased Chloe who was forced to listen to his boring conversation.

"You asked me to gain his trust, I have to appear like a good girl. I heard from a little spy that your brother likes good girls who have a touch of a bad girl in them."

On hearing Chloe's words, he chuckled darkly. He knew this pretty bitch was smart.
