Chapter 5: Chapter 5

When Chloe finally arrived at the hotel room she was staying in, she was totally exhausted. It was more of an emotional draining than physical and it was all because she had not been able to get that man that she encountered about an hour ago off her mind.

They had only talked for fifteen to twenty minutes but it was enough to drain her so much, maybe because she had been holding herself back, using every fiber of self-control to keep herself from ripping his clothes into shreds and pouncing on him.

After taking a warm bath, she chose to sip a cup of coffee since her stomach did not feel like it was in the mood for any food.

She settled down on her bed, taking a decision to call her benefactor inorder to inform him that the first stage of the sabotage mission had already began but the moment she picked up her new phone, that had been bought for her, the gadget she would have no use for after the mission because she would toss it out while cleaning up all her traces, the phone began to vibrate. She picked up the phone and began talking with Nate's brother Neil.

" Hello boss, I was about to call you just now, the first stage of the mission is now complete, Alexandra Daley is now the official secretary of your dearest brother."

"And a good afternoon to you too Miss Blair," Neil replied back in a trustful tone, he knew she was the right person for the job.

"We might be business partners but it wouldn't hurt to take these minor courtesies in mind and keep to them."

She sighed tiredly,

"How does greeting you affect the mission that you have given me?" She asked him in a neutral voice holding no expression whatsoever.

She heard a grunt from the Neil's part of the phone,

"You know the moment I met your sister I was quite surprised to know that both of you were related, I was almost sure that I walked into the wrong ward. She was so nice and friendly I thought she was an angel. Although, I admit that she was no longer as pretty as you, she's all skin and bones, I was wondering how long I would have left to live if I hadn't met you."

Chloe understood his game, she knew what he was doing. She could hear it from the tone of his voice. He was trying to put her in her place, to remind her that without him she would probably be dressed in all black now preparing for her sister's funeral.

She made a mental note to be cautious of these men, She should beware of both brothers more but that did not mean that she was just going to bend like a rubber to Neil's every request. Then again, she wasn't given much of a choice,

"Oh please forgive me for being so ill mannered. How are you, how is your pet dog, how are your neighbors, how is everyone?" She said in the most plastic shuffle voice she could offer. There was silence over the line for a while and she thought she had managed to silence him or better still if she had made him drop the call until his voice came through again.

"I knew I made a good choice with you, you're an obedient sweet girl," was all he said, before becoming quiet so she could tell him every detail about the meeting that she had with his brother. He was listening to her very patiently and very intensely as well, making sure he didn't miss any spare details.

"You did very well, not many women can handle my brother the way you did, trust me he would fall for you. You are blessed with what men can't resist and of course my naughty brother won't see this package coming…now, let the sabotage process begin."

"What happens if he catches feelings for me, what do I do?" She asked honestly,

"Do you plan on getting married to him? You play with his feelings, do to him what he would never forget. That's what he gets for taking what's not his in the first place." Her heart loudly in her chest, she couldn't bring herself to think of hurting that young man even if he was a bad person.

She gulped, fanning herself with the magazine on her bed, the internal heat she was feeling right now could not be quenched.

"Yes boss," she stammered which raised a little bit of suspicious from Neil,

"Are you falling for my brother?" He asked with his eyebrows raised,

"No boss, I'm just really nervous, your brother seems so intelligent I just hope he will not catch me."

"You are more intelligent than him. The fact that you're an attractive woman makes the job easier. I need you to relax and do this job perfectly. Remember, your sister's life depends on whether or not you do this job without hesitations."

She cleaned the droplet of tears trickling down her eyes, never had she been so scared. She recalled the memories of her sister in the hospital and how everyday was a daily struggle for her.

"It's fine boss, I won't let you down."

"Good! You're the perfect baby doll for the job, I trust your capability completely."

"Yes boss, thank you for your trust in me, I won't let you down."

"Least I forget, I have a little package for you. They contain everything you need to make yourself look presentable for the job, I bet my brother would be drilling over you."

"Yes, I mean no, I don't know. His countenance is really hard to read," she replied in a confused manner,

"You don't need to worry, I know my blood, I know what he loves to see. I've given you all the instructions, do not fail me."

"I won't boss," she said for the last time before the call dropped. She called the room attended To get her a bottle of vodka. She drank to stupor, her eyes closed as the glass of wine poured on the ground due to the way she laid down.
