Chapter 304: Chapter 304

Qi Longbing spoke coldly, his expression frosty. As he uttered those words, it was as if he were already saying goodbye to his former self.

From now on, he was going to be a brand-new him. He didn’t want to be President Qi anymore, the Qi Longbing who let others pull his strings.

This so-called manipulation, however, was solely at the hands of Hua Xiaomo. As for anyone else trying to manipulate him—that simply wasn’t going to happen.

"Yes, President." The secretaries quickly left the office.

Before long, the tense meeting began. Qi Longbing threw himself into his work. The meeting lasted an entire day, as if he sought to numb himself with the hectic pace of work, to calm the turbulent emotions deep within his heart.

A Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit pulled up.

"Second Young Master, Miss Hua, I’ve already taken care of the luggage procedures for you," Butler Qin Feng said.

"Thank you, Uncle Qin." After Lingfeng finished speaking, he glanced at Hua Xiaomo beside him. "Xiao Mo, let’s get out of the car!"

"Okay." Hua Xiaomo agreed and then stepped out of the car as well.

Another young man, Zi Yunsui, was also accompanying them.

Qin Feng looked at Zi Yunsui. "Zi Yunsui, take good care of the Second Young Master and Miss Hua."

"I know, Uncle Qin." Zi Yunsui nodded his head, not saying much else.

He remembered when his master had decided to go to America for convalescence, he had asked him whether he wanted to go with him or stay at the Qi Family Mansion. At that time, he had expressed that wherever his master went, he would follow. Indeed, no matter how grand the Qi Family estate was, without his master, it was merely an empty shell to him, offering no reason to stay. Of course, he would go to America with his master. This was not only to take care of him but also to guard against unforeseeable future events. His master’s injury, inflicted by Sha Po Lang, was hardly a simple matter.

"Uncle Qin, I’m entrusting the Old Master to your care. It may be a while before I can return this time. But don’t worry; I won’t disappear like before. We’ll keep in touch by phone," Qi Lingfeng said with a smile.

"Second Young Master, just remember what you said. Your Uncle Qin isn’t worried at all," Qin Feng smiled. He didn’t say much else and soon watched them board the plane.

The news brought by Yu Bao cast a layer of gloom over Qi Longbing’s face, which had remained calm throughout the day.

"President Qi, Miss Hua took a flight this afternoon and has left City A," Yu Bao said calmly. He was somewhat worried about Qi Longbing’s state, but any comforting words now seemed futile.

Miss Hua had already left, and it would likely be quite a while before she returned.

And the relationship between him and the President, it seemed, would simply fizzle out.

Alas, it was such a pity. He had previously thought they could be together, but reality was so cruel. The President had just missed his chance. Who would have thought he would lose to the Second Young Master of the Qi Family—lose nine years of opportunity! Yes, no matter how one looked at it, the Second Young Master of the Qi Family had met Miss Hua a full nine years before the President did. With Miss Hua won over by him, Qi Longbing was so thoroughly outmaneuvered he had no recourse.

"Get out," Qi Longbing said, his voice dark. He spoke no other words, his heart only growing heavier.

Yu Bao exited, leaving Qi Longbing alone in the office. He was enveloped by a suffocating silence. The surroundings grew increasingly quiet, until the loneliness deep in his soul intensified.

It was a long while before Qi Longbing stood up. He walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the scenery outside. The corners of his lips curled up coldly.

"Hua Xiaomo, you really left. But do you think you can really just leave like that?"

"I’m telling you, this isn’t the end; this is just another beginning."

Qi Longbing’s face was somber and dark. He said no more, just gazing at the expanse of darkness before him, as if even the blue in his pupils had been dyed black.

It was the color of hell, a place where even tranquility lost its warmth, completely shrouded by infernal darkness.

Uncle Qin arrived early in the morning, waiting for the return of the Second Young Master of the Qi Family.

Before long, people emerged from the aircraft. Among the crowd, a familiar face emerged. He was accompanied by a young woman. However, it wasn’t Hua Xiaomo; it was someone new.

Uncle Qin quickly went forward to take his luggage.

"Second Young Master, you’re back! The Old Master has been missing you terribly at home. Hurry back with us; he has prepared a feast to welcome you," Qin Feng said.

"I missed the Old Master, you, and of course, my elder brother while I was in America," Qi Lingfeng said with a graceful smile. A white suit draped elegantly on him, making him look as effortlessly stylish as ever.

Qin Feng smiled but said nothing about Qi Longbing. He had informed the First Young Master, Qi Longbing, about Qi Lingfeng’s return, but the First Young Master had shown no emotion. Qin Feng himself merely smiled, saying nothing more.

Qin Feng felt helpless about the lukewarm relationship between the two brothers. When would these two blood brothers ever truly act like family? That would be a strange day indeed. Perhaps ever since Hua Xiaomo came into the picture, it had become impossible for them to be close.

But Qin Feng’s attention quickly shifted to the long-haired, elegant young woman beside Qi Lingfeng.

"Who is this beautiful young lady...?" Qin Feng asked curiously. Previously, weren’t Miss Hua and Zi Yunsui the ones accompanying Qi Lingfeng?

What happened? Zi Yunsui and Miss Hua hadn’t returned; instead, Qi Lingfeng had come back with another young lady. What did this mean?

"Uncle Qin, this is Yuan Youya, my girlfriend," Qi Lingfeng stated. He spoke comfortably, without a hint of unease, as if it were all perfectly normal. Follow current novᴇls on 𝗇𝗈𝗏𝖾𝗅•𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾•𝗇𝖾𝗍

With that, Qi Lingfeng put his arm around Youya’s shoulder, and she leaned into him like a bird snuggling close.

Qin Feng frowned as he watched them. He quickly shot Qi Lingfeng a significant look, but in deference to the young woman, he didn’t voice his concerns aloud.

This was bizarre, utterly illogical! How had a situation that should have involved Miss Hua returning for an engagement and marriage turned into this, with another girl? This was too strange, too far from normal.

He really didn’t know how he would explain this to the Old Master when they returned.
