Chapter 84: Chapter 84

"Wait, you mean Sean Wilson is your first?" Amelia had a look of disbelief on her face. She knew Carmen from a long time ago, and she didn't seem like the type to hold back.

Carmen lowered her gaze to the table, afraid of meeting Amelia's eyes. She feared that Amelia might see through her lies. "I was so naive to have trusted him. Even after his betrayal, my heart still beats for him. I sincerely want him all to myself," she declared.

Amelia let out a loud sigh. "It will be quite difficult for you to maneuver your way into Sean's life, especially since..."

"Speaking of the vixen, there she is." Amelia's words were cut short by the sight of Andrea, her kids, and a familiar-looking lady.

A feeling of heartache washed over Carmen, and a tear unknowingly fell from her cheek, uncaring of her surroundings.

Andrea looked happy and relaxed, playing with her kids and engaging in a pleasant conversation with her friend, whom Carmen recognized as the lady she had initially mistaken for Sean's secret lover.

A scoff escaped Amelia's lips as her eyes scanned Andrea's body. "To be frank, there's nothing special about her. A smart man like Mr. Wilson is only using her for pleasure. I'm sure that once he gets exhausted of her, he will kick her out of his life," she remarked.

Carmen sniffled, and only then did Amelia realize she had been crying all this while. Only Carmen knew the amount of pain she was going through. At that moment, she felt like something was weighing her down, making it difficult to breathe.

"Let's leave already. I feel suffocated. I can't stay here any longer," Carmen urged Amelia, who had no intention of leaving.

The thought of Andrea being at the restaurant gave Carmen the impression that Sean might come here at any moment. After all, the restaurant was just a few blocks from Shimmers Company. It would be awkward if Sean found her here. He might get the wrong impression that she's stalking them.

"Why don't we go say hello to her? Crying here won't make you feel any better, sweety. I want you to wipe your face and restore your confidence," Amelia suggested with a sly smirk.

Carmen quickly shook off the idea. "No, I don't think that's a good idea. What if Sean comes here? By doing this, we will only be getting ourselves into trouble."

Amelia clicked her tongue. "Tsk! Stop acting like a coward. Come on." She pulled Carmen to her feet.

"Hi," Amelia said with her arms crossed over her chest as they walked over to Andrea's table.

Andrea cast a glance at her and then looked at Carmen beside Amelia. She already knew they were up to no good. "Yes," she responded calmly.

"You must be Andrea, right? The bitch who is only good at seducing and snatching people's boyfriends." Amelia scolded with a mocking smile.

"Why is everyone trying to test my patience today?" Andrea muttered under her breath, lowering her gaze. She could feel a headache coming.

"At least I'm good at something. What about you?" Andrea retorted, raising her head with a radiant smile to meet her gaze.

A gasp escaped Amelia's lips. "Carmen, she's so shameless. What a slut! You think you are the new Mrs. Wilson now, huh? You see, Carmen here is the only one Sean loves, and that's why he let her work at his company."

Andrea chuckled at this "You can keep yarning about it as long as it makes you feel better."

"Let me make something clear to you. Even if you birth ten babies for Sean, you are nothing but his slutty mistress, and nothing can change that." Amelia spat out angrily.

"And who the hell do you also think you are to speak to her like that? Are you Sean's mouthpiece or what?" Elena chimed in.

Carmen suddenly went down on her knees and burst into tears, leaving everyone dumbstruck. "Andrea, I'm begging you, please just let me have Sean. I'm tired of waiting for him to kick you out himself. You snatched him from me, and I thought I would be okay, but the truth is, it hurts so bad," she said in between sobs, palm placed on her chest.

Andrea remained expressionless as she stared at Carmen, sitting on the ground and crying as if her world had come to an end.

"What are you doing, Carmen? Would you stop embarrassing us," Amelia mumbled, trying to pull her to her feet.

The intense gaze and side gossips of onlookers couldn't be ignored. Andrea looked around, feeling slightly embarrassed by the situation.

"You should know the difference between the past, present, and future, Carmen. You are Sean's past, and I'm his present and future. It's better for you to move on with your life rather than waste your time trying to take something that already belongs to someone else."

"Then again, I won't tell Sean any of this, and please make sure you avoid me from now on," she concluded and shifted her gaze to Elena. "Let's go."

As they walked towards the car, Elena couldn't help but pour out all of her thoughts.

"Damn! Why didn't you tell that bitch that Mr. Wilson is your husband? What's wrong with the both of you? Why hide your marriage in the first place? I believe the whole world should know that you belong to each other."

"I was the one who insisted we keep it a secret until I adjust to my new life as Sean's wife," Andrea quickly defended herself.

"Haven't you adjusted enough? Does something terrible have to happen first? I can't believe Mr. Wilson agreed to this," Elena furiously said as she placed Ruby in the car seat.

A rush of uneasiness abruptly flooded Andrea's mind. "Lena, do you think Sean might leave me someday?" she said quietly.

Elena chuckled at the question. "Andrea, why would you even think such a thing? If that were the case, Sean wouldn't have taken such a risk to marry you."

"You know, when we were younger, I always hoped that the guy you would get married to should be someone who understands you just the way I do, or even better. And it seems dreams do come true."

"What are you talking about?"

"Actually, Sean told me about the incident that happened at his parents'. He had thought you would react or speak to him about the situation afterward, but you didn't do any of that. When he approached you, you told him you were fine. Sean knows how much effort you made to choose nice gifts for his parents, yet his mom..."

"What I'm trying to say is that Sean overheard you crying in the bathroom that night. He realized you are the kind of person who puts on a brave face even when they are in pain. He has promised to pay extra attention to you."

"Since when did you two become this close? Moreover, you know I hate looking vulnerable and weak in front of those I care about. It makes me feel awkward at the end of the day."

"I also told him this. Additionally, he is not just anyone. He is your life partner, somebody you can freely open up to, and who will support your every decision."

"You have always been a good friend to me, more than I have been to you," Andrea tightened her grip on Elena's hand.

"I know, right?" Elena playfully stuck out her tongue.

Andrea's phone beeped with a notification, and she quickly reached for it with high hopes that it was from Sean. She pouted sadly and unlocked her phone. "What is he doing in New South Wales?" she mumbled.

"Who is that?" Elena poked her head into Andrea's phone and smiled. "Are you still in touch with Mr Jones?"

"Yes, why did you ask?"

"Well... I don't think it's a good idea to be in contact with someone who has feelings for you. I don't know if I should be saying this, but I noticed back then, Mr. Jones was very much interested in you, even though you were pregnant."

"That's crazy!"

"I know, right? Even I find it kind of strange. I guess the attraction was so strong that his intentions became so obvious. Too bad you are taken already."

"If only he knew that. To him, I'm just a single mom visiting my aunt and cousin in New York. I don't know how he is going to feel or react when he learns the truth."

"Oh, you didn't tell him either?"

"Yeah. You see, both Mr. Jones and Sean don't get along. They are like sworn enemies, and it scares me a lot. On one hand, Sean is my husband, and on the other hand, Mr. Jones is my good friend. I wonder if something happened between them in the past."

Elena burst into laughter. "That's really funny. By the way, what is he doing in our hometown?"

Andrea shrugged her shoulders. "I have no idea! I should give him a call now," she said, already dialing his number.

The call connected immediately, as if he had been expecting a call from her. "How have you been, Mr. Jones?"

"I'm okay. What about you? Are you still in New York?"

"Yes. Is everything fine? I see you are in my hometown."

"I came for work reasons, but I will be flying back tomorrow."

The line suddenly fell silient "Oh, that's great to hear. I will leave you to continue your work. Bye!"

"Andrea!" suddenly he called out to her softly.

"Mhm."

"When I get back, I would like us to go for our movie night like we discussed last time. Also, there's something I want to ask you. I hope you'll say yes. Bye for now," he hung up, not giving her a chance to reply.
