Chapter 35: How are Andrea and the babies?

Sean sneered as he looked around the huge hotel.” How is that even possible? Look it's okay even if the room is as tiny as a hole,”

” Sorry sir, there's nothing we can do to help unless you share your presidential suite with her,” the lady said.

” Of course not. I guess we will have to look for another hotel nearby,” Sean passed the card back to her.

” I don't think that's a good idea, Sir. Unfortunately, there are no hotels close by and that's why the rooms are fully booked,”

Sean rubbed his temples ” I can't share my room with this woman. I don't care about the distance. I just want to get far away from her,”

Carmen's eyes began to tear up. She took in a sharp breath ” I'm afraid we can't do that right now. Uncle's appointment is less than an hour from now,” she reminded him.

Sean pressed his lips in annoyance before reluctantly picking out the card he had dropped on the counter awhile ago. Carmen smiled secretly as she followed behind him. They took the elevator and they finally arrived at room 217. Sean slid in the card and the door opened, revealing a cosy looking room with modernistic features.

” You can take the room on the left while I take the other room,” he said as he strolled into his bedroom and slammed the door.

Carmen bit her lip hard as she stood still thinking of a plan to get close to him. She sighs silently as she stares at his door for a while before going into her bedroom.

GREEN HILL HOSPITAL

After what seemed like forever, Doctor Paula finally emerged from the delivery room as she dabbed the sweat from her forehead.

Elena rose to her feet and quickly rushed up to her . For some reason, she was feeling very anxious. As an experienced nurse, she had seen a lot of pregnant women who didn't come out alive from the delivery room and those who lost their babies in the process. She didn't want any of these terrible things to happen to Andrea.

” How are Andrea and the babies?” she inquired nervously.

” Congratulations, she gave birth to two healthy baby girls,” Doctor Paula grinned sweetly.

Elena heaved a sigh of relief ” What about Andrea? Is she fine? I hope nothing happened to her,”

” Relax, Andrea is fine. I must say she's a very strong woman and she would make a great mom. You can go in to see her,” Doctor Paula chuckled.

Before Elena could take a step, she saw Nurse Alexa coming out with the babies.

She walked over to her briskly ” They are so cute,” Elena couldn't help but smile as tears shone in her eyes.

” Wait a minute, head nurse before you get all emotional, permit me to take the babies to the nursery,”

Elena sniffled, wiping her tears ” Sure I will come with you,”

On their way, she couldn't help but ask about Andrea's welfare ” How is Andrea? ”

” Ms. Andrea is fine. To be honest the babies are quite stubborn. It was slightly difficult before we got them out, ” Alexa gigled.

” I will deal with these little cute rascals when the time comes,” Elena burst into laughter.

Nurse Alexa went in while she remained outside the door to pick a call.

” Andrea I went over to your place but couldn't find you? Is everything okay?” he asked.

” Hello Mr Jones, this is Elena speaking. Andrea is currently at the hospital . She just put to bed,”

” Wow! That's wonderful news. How are she and the babies doing?” Jacob beamed in excitement.

” Andrea and the babies are fine,”

” Okay. I will drop by at the hospital,” he said before disconnecting the call.

RECOVERY ROOM

Andrea laid on the bed fraily as she looked at the ceiling, patiently waiting to see her babies.

The door burst open, revealing Elena and Nurse Alexa with her babies.

” Lena, it's good to see you again,”she let out a faint smile.

” Come on, just shut up. I knew nothing was going to happen to you,” Elena rolled her eyes at her as she sat close to her.

Nurse Alexa carefully handed the babies to their mother. ” There's nothing to worry about. The babies are very healthy,” she smiled warmly.

” Thank you Nurse Alexa,” Andrea gave her a polite smile.

” Head nurse, I have to go now,’’Alexa said before leaving the room.

Andrea carefully examined her babies ”Lena do you notice the babies don't look like me one bit,” she pouted her lips.

” Yes I noticed that and I also noticed that their father must be very handsome,” Elena smiled and Andrea scoffed.

Elena stuck out her tongue ”Okay I'm sorry for speaking about him by the way Mr Jones called and I already told him the news,”

Andrea was about to reply and suddenly one of the twins burst into tears. ” Hey Ruby stop crying,” Andrea placed her on her chest, patting her gently.

Elena couldn't help but burst into laughter. ” I think she's just hungry,”

” Yes Elena is right. , It is advisable to breastfeed your little one within the first hour of birth,” Doctor Paula said immediately as she came in.

The baby's cries grew even louder and Andrea stuck her bosom into Ruby's little mouth. She snapped shut instantly as she suckled on her mother's bosom.

” Your big sis is such a crybaby right,” Elena said coquettishly to Pearl in her arms.

TORONTO, CANADA

At The Presidential Suite

After Sean dressed up, he emerged from the room and met Carmen, already waiting for him.

” Let's go,” he mumbled as he headed out of the room.

They got into their ride and arrived at a restaurant called The Bell Tower.

Carmen smiled as she walked shoulder to shoulder with Sean ” Wow! I remember when I used to come here to have lunch. I bet you will like their food over here too,”

”I guess you are forgetting the reason why we came here. We didn't come here for a vacation, we came here for work,” he said in an arrogant manner.

Carmen rolled her eyes as they came out of the elevator. ”Let's sit by the window,”

Sean nodded as they took their seats. Their table fell silent as he concentrated on his phone ” Why is it that you don't like me?” Carmen asked nervously, breaking the silence.

Without bothering to raise his head from his phone, he retorted ” I don't hate you Carmen, I just don't appreciate the fact that you are trying to get close to me,” he said nonchalantly.

Carmen's lips curved into a smile ” I'm so glad you don't hate me. I have been worried about nothing I guess. And don't worry from now on, I will stop pissing you off and maybe we can become best friends again,”

Two men dressed in neatly black suits walked over to their table. ” You must be Mr Wilson,” one of the men said.

Sean nodded and brought his hand forward for a handshake ” Nice meeting you Mr Lam and you must be Mr Clark,” he said as they exchanged pleasantries.

They all settled down and Mr Lam glanced at Carmen ” what a beautiful wife you have over here,” he said, making Carmen's cheeks rosy.

Sean shook his head ” She's just my lawyer,” he said unceremoniously.

Mr Lam coughed embarrassingly, he felt like biting his tongue off ” Oh! My apology. I just assumed. I'm sorry Mr Wilson and Misses,”

” Ms. Wallner,” she smiled as she shook hands with him.

The waitress sauntered over to their table with a menu ” Good day Ma'am and Sirs, can I take your orders,” she smiled politely.

Carmen flipped the menu in a languid manner ” Poutine will be fine with a glass of Pinot noir,”

” Get us those too. You sound quite familiar with this dish Ms. Wallner,” Mr Lam smiled at her.

Carmen chuckled softly ” This place is like my second home, I mean I schooled here in Canada. So I'm very much familiar and interested in their culture,”

” Very impressive. It's nice to see a beautiful American woman who is interested in our culture,” he laughed as he drank his glass of water.

Sean pursed his lips ‘‘Can we get to business?” he said nonchalantly as he leaned back in his seat.

” Of course, Mr Wilson. I'm sorry for the delay. I'm sure you have other important things to do. Here are the papers,” He brought out some papers from his suitcase.

Sean glanced at them thoroughly before handing the papers to Carmen. She also checked them out and nodded ” The terms are favourable to us. This is a good deal. You should go ahead and sign,”

Sean took the pen and signed the papers immediately. ” It's done,”

” It was a pleasure to do business with you.” Mr Lam guffawed.

They talked for a while longer, with Mr Lam and Mr Clark doing most of the talking while he just listened habitually. Mr Lam suddenly sighs ” It's getting late. We need to get going now. We would like to invite you to drink with us tonight if you don't mind Mr Wilson,”

” Sure. Just text me the address when it's time,” Sean nodded nonchalantly.
