Chapter 34: Don't you think they make a powerful couple?

GREEN HILL HOSPITAL

Elena held onto Andrea's hand as she was pushed into the delivery room. "Andrea, you don't have to be scared. You will be fine, okay? I will give your Aunt a call now," she said, and Andrea nodded in pain.

"Doctor Paula, I will leave you in the care of my friend," Elena said.

Doctor Paula nodded. "I will do my best, Elena," she said before walking into the room.

Elena brought out Andrea's phone from her handbag, and just then Nurse Alexa rushed to the direction of the delivery room and met her by the door.

"Head nurse, I heard Andrea is in the delivery room," Elena raised her head from the phone screen and back to Nurse Alexa.

"Yes, I was the one who brought her here. Are you going in also?" She asked as she noticed the way she was dressed.

Alexa nodded. "Yes, Doctor Paula asked me to assist her. I need to go in now," Elena sat on the bench outside the ward with a loud sigh. She quickly dialled Mom Tessa's number.

At A Condominium

"Philip, please don't do this to me," Lisa whimpered as she gripped onto the edge of his shirt like her life depended on it.

Philip gritted his teeth. "For the last time, Lisa! Let go of my shirt," he pushed her away roughly.

Lisa landed flat on her face. She didn't even mind the fact that she was lying on dirt. She sat up and went on her knees. "Don't act like this, Philip. You have to be responsible for our son," Lisa wiped her tears, smearing her mascara all over her face.

Philip scoffed loudly. "Do you think I wanted a kid? Damn you, Lisa! Have you forgotten how this kid came about so soon?"

Lisa's expression turned ugly immediately. ”Wow! You are really a son of a bitch. You have forgotten so quickly how I had saved your family's company. Why didn't you go to that good for nothing Andrea of yours? I did everything because I love you,”

Philip clenched his jaw in exasperation. " Is this love or stupidity? You better not utter a word against Andrea again. You know how much I love and cherish her,” he spat out angrily.

Lisa smacked her hands together as she cackled loudly ” Why did you accept help from me in the first place? You don't even have the right to love anyone. Philip, stop acting like you are a saint here. Both of us hurt Andrea and you fell into my traps because you were selfish and you put your needs first before her,” she said in a hoarse voice.

Philip sneered and slowly nodded his head ” I'm done with this conversation,” his gaze returned to his luggage as he pulled it out of the house.

Lisa felt goosebumps all over her body ” Philip, are you really going to walk out on me? What the hell is wrong with you? What about our son? I haven't even signed the divorce papers yet,” she said in a crushed voice.

Without turning to even take a second glance at her, he walked out of her sight and soon she heard the sounds of his car engine getting further away.

CRESCENT WOOD MANSION

Sean walked into the living room and met Carmen, sitting with his parents with a charming smile on her face as they conversed.

” What is she doing here? ” He said in an arrogant tone.

Mr Wilson raised his head from his magazine ” Oh I forgot to mention this. I needed someone to help me take a look at the papers to check If it's favourable to us So I asked Carmen to come with you,”

Mrs Wilson chuckled softly ” After all, she's a well-known lawyer,” she chimed in.

” You should have saved yourself the stress. I could have asked my company's lawyer to come with me instead,” Sean said furiously.

” No need to call Mr Moore. Actually, you know my lawyer left my company recently. So I told Mr Moore to work for me from henceforth,”

” How can you do that dad? You know Mr Moore is a very important figure in my company,”

” You don't need to worry. I have got everything fixed already. Carmen will be your company's lawyer from now on. She's professional and trustworthy. After all, She's your childhood friend,”

” Right! Don't you think they make a powerful couple?” Mrs Wilson gushed sweetly and Carmen's cheeks flushed red instantly.

” Look, you are running out of time. I guess you guys should get going now,” Mr Wilson said hastily before Sean could object to his words.

Sean left the house in anger while Carmen trailed behind him happily. He opened the back seat and got in. He was about to slam the door when he noticed a female leg, his gaze travelled back to Carmen, who was about to get into the back seat with him.

” Get into the front immediately,” he said in a very cold voice, making her flinch in fright.

Carmen pouted her lips as she got into the front seat with the driver. ” You just wait Sean, you will become mine before the end of this business trip,” a mischievous smirk settled on her lips.

They finally arrived at the airport, they boarded Sean's private jet and they both settled down waiting for it to take off.

He received a call from Drew and walked far away from Carmen. ” Speak up,”

” Boss I just wanted to inform you that I have bought the building like you instructed me to,” Drew said at the other end of the line.

” Good. Once I'm done with dad's work, I will fly to Australia and I want you to come join me,” he hung up the phone.

The plane took off and both of them didn't even exchange a word throughout the trip. Carmen was trying to get his attention, but she didn't succeed as she ended up falling asleep after many failed attempts.

They finally arrived in Canada. They got into the ride Sean's father had arranged for them. The car came to a halt in front of a huge five-star hotel. Sean glanced at the place with a satisfied look on his face. He went to the counter to retrieve the keys to the room.

The receptionist smiled politely at them ” Good Afternoon Sir and Ma'am, welcome to Spring Hotel. How may I assist you?”

” Check your reservation system. Mr David Wilson,” he said in a domineering manner.

The lady by the counter nodded her head ” Here it is Sir, The presidential suite with room number 217,” she said as she presented the room card to him.

He retrieved it and was about to stride off before Carmen stopped him. ” Sean what .. What about my room? ” She frowned.

” Sorry ma'am Mr Wilson only made reservations for one room, which is the presidential suite,” she said with an apologetic look on her face.

Carmen scrunched up her face ” What should I do now? ” she pouted.

Sean's expression closed up. ” Just get her a room in the hotel,” he said unceremoniously.

The lady shook her head ” I'm sorry sir. There are no vacant rooms available. All the rooms in this hotel have been taken,”
