Chapter 14: mom,what happened to Andrea?

In An Apartment In America

Andrea got up after napping for hours, she came downstairs as she rubbed her eyes groggily.

" May, you are finally awake " Tessa said as she dropped the book she was reading.

" Mom Tessa, when I came you were not here " Andrea said as she rushed up to her and gave her a hug.

Mom Tessa slowly removed her glasses as she stared at Andrea's Baby bump " May, how long have you been pregnant? " She asked in shock.

Andrea itched her scalp awkwardly " five months  and some weeks " she said like a whisper.

Tessa's jaw almost dropped " When did you become so irresponsible, you have been pregnant for so long and you are only just telling me " she half yelled at her.

" Mom Tessa, what should I have said, I was too ashamed to tell you that I am pregnant " she said as she lowered her gaze to her stomach.

" How did this happen, May? " She asked as she gestured to her to take a seat.

" Mom Tessa, I know this might sound crazy but it's the truth " she said after narrating everything to Tessa.

" You mean all this happened, and those rich good for nothing people did all this to you? " She said furiously and Andrea nodded her head.

Tessa shook her head in annoyance " I'm so disappointed in you May. Why didn't you tell me that you had to go through all this humiliation, you have already been through a lot in the past '' she said sadly.

" My poor child, come " she gave Andrea a warm hug.

" Mom Tessa I know have let you down not just you but I also let myself done " she cried in her arms.

" It's okay, you need to be strong, kids are blessing from above " she patted her back gently.

" Where is Jasmine? " Andrea asked as she broke the hug.

" She went to get groceries, she will be back soon, " Tessa said.

" Mom Tessa, I was invited to a movie premiere by 7pm, so I will go get ready " she said as she stood up.

" I can't let you go alone, look at your condition, it is not even safe outside. I will tell Jasmine to come with you " she said and quickly brought out her phone.

Andrea remained silent; she knew it was next to in possible to convince her aunt to let her go alone. She got ready and came down shortly, luckily Jasmine was already back.

She was astonished to see Andrea pregnant, she quickly discarded her thoughts and went forward " Andrea, it's been a while " she smiled slightly at her.

" Mom Tessa, Jasmine looks so much like you now that she's grown up " Andrea smiled sweetly.

" Okay sis, I'll go change just give me some minutes " Jasmine said as she rushed upstairs and Tessa followed behind her.

Immediately Tessa got to the door, Jasmine shut it closed. " Mom, what happened to Andrea? " She asked.

" It's a long story, you better not ask her anything about it " Tessa warned her sternly before leaving the room.

Jasmine came down shortly already dressed in a purple short chiffon dress.

" Mom, stop looking at me like that, this is what modern girls wear to places like these " she said.

" Did I say anything? I was just admiring the dress on you " Tessa said with a chuckle.

" Mom Tessa, we will leave now " Andrea said nonchalantly.

" Make sure you have fun" Mom Tessa yelled as she waved at them.

They got out of the house and they found a black tinted Mercedes Benz parked outside the building, immediately they approached the car, the window came down and the person's face came into view. " Good evening Ms. Graham, our young master sent us to pick you up"

Jasmine grinned as she stared at the car infatuatedly, she inched nearer and whispered in Andrea's ear " wow sis you got a big one " she said.

Andrea shook her head, her lips parted slightly to explain but she suddenly held herself back it was best she ignored Jasmine words.

They got in, and the car drove off. The drive went smoothly as they enjoyed the cool air coming from the air conditioner, an hour later they finally arrived at a huge resort with about 15 floors. They got out of the car and  Jasmine droll as she stared at the building, she had never gotten a chance to  come to a place as grand as this.

Andrea and Jasmine walked into the entrance while the driver and bodyguard drove to the parking lot.

They were about to go in and two macho bodyguards stood in their way " you can't go in without a pass " he said in a severe tone.

Just then, a lady walked past them and brushed her shoulder against Andrea's.

She lost her balance and almost fell luckily Jasmine quickly held her for support.

The lady glanced at Andrea lowly from head to toes and suddenly scoffed loudly " you!, won't you tell this beggars that this isn't a charity home and they should leave the premises before Jacob sees them " she said to the guard in a proud manner.

" I'm sorry ma'am, I will get rid of them now " the security bowed slightly

Andrea gaze returned to the lady, from one glance she could tell she was an important figure for tonight's event. She suspects she's one of the stars from JJ entertainment, however she wasn't a big fan of movies but she could vividly recall that she had seen this face somewhere.

She was putting on a tight silver dress with a long slight, showing her long smooth legs, her dress glitters as the reflection of the Light flash on her dress making her the

centre of attention.

With her head held up high she proceeded into the building, as she sashayed on her white heels.

Jasmine was about to pull her back , but Andrea quickly held her " don't Jasmine, don't forget we are just guests here " she said casually.

" Sis, aren't you mad that she called us beggars a while ago, how do we look like beggars you should have let me teach the bitch a lesson " she said, already raising her voice making the people present stare at them weirdly.

" Jasmine stop it, do you want to create problems for Mr Jones?, just let it be, leave everything to me " she said with a smile.

Just then the guard that was inside the car that brought them here approached them" ma'am you are still standing here? " He said with a frown.

" They refuse to let us in, " Jasmine snapped furiously.

" Who are these people and why are you letting them in? Boss will get angry if he sees these beggars at his party, they might create chaos " the security who was in charge of the door said.

" Are you out of your mind? If the boss gets here he wouldn't spare you, they are special guests and were invited by the boss himself " the other bodyguard said.

" Then where are their invites? " he said matter of factly.

" He sent an online invite to me but the thing is I left my phone at home, " Andrea said.

" I'll call the boss to confirm " the security at the gate said as he called Jacob Jones on the phone.

" Boss there's a lady here, Andrea Graham, she claims she was invited by you sir " he said over the phone.

" Let her in quickly, " Jacob Jones said.

" I'm sorry ma'am, I was only doing the job I was paid for , you can go in " the security said.

Jasmine let out a mirthless laugh " in your face fool! " She muttered before going in with Andrea.
