Chapter 138: Chapter 138
At the crescent wood residence, the garden was dashingly decorated for the sip and see party of Sean and Andrea's son, where friends and family gathered to welcome the baby.
Andrea was dressed in matching blue outfits with her son, while the twins matched with Sean. The smiles on their faces were evident and blissful. Andrea climbed the stage with her son in her arms; he was the exact replica of herself, with black hair and green emerald eyes, just like hers.
Sean was jealous at first, but thought it was fair since the twins looked exactly like him.
Andrea stepped up to the microphone, her hands trembling slightly as she adjusted it to her height. The air was thick with anticipation. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves, and began to speak.
"Good day, everyone," she said, her voice steady but laced with emotion. "First and foremost, I'd like to thank each and every one of you present for standing by me, Sean, and the kids during our hard times. It means a lot to us that you're here to support us."
The audience was a sea of familiar faces, people she had known for years through school, work, and community events. They all smiled and nodded as she spoke, their faces filled with warmth and goodwill.
Andrea paused, taking in the crowd's reactions, before continuing. She felt a lump form in her throat as she thought about the journey they had been on. From her pregnancy to the joy of finally welcoming her son into their lives, it had been a rollercoaster ride.
She took a few deep breaths, trying to compose herself. "Before we all get emotional," she said, her voice cracking slightly. "Let's not forget the reason we're all gathered here today. So, without any further delay, everyone, meet our son, Ezra Ivan Wilson."
The crowd erupted into applause as they took in the sight of their son. Ezra was a sweet-looking boy with his mother's bright emerald eyes and black hair. He was dressed in a tiny suit and tie, looking like a miniature version of his mother.
Andrea smiled through tears as she gazed at her son, feeling overwhelmed with emotion. She glanced over at Sean, who was beaming with pride beside her. He took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Please feel free to enjoy yourselves," Andrea said, trying to speak over the applause. "And thank you all for coming."
With that, she stepped off the stage with Ezra in her arms, followed by Sean. The audience applauded again as they made their way through the crowd, shaking hands and accepting congratulations and well-wishes.
"That was a great speech!" Sean kissed her forehead.
"Ezra, come to Daddy." Sean attempted to take his son from Andrea, but instead he burst into tears and his little hand clutched Andrea's cloth.
Alicia and Lin, who were chatting as they walked by, stopped in their tracks and laughed. "Andrea, I think you just got yourself a mummy's boy," Alicia said, speaking out of experience.
Sean's mind wandered to the next couple of years ahead, imagining the challenges he and Andrea would face. He couldn't help but think of Sonny's stories about how their son had created a rift between him and his wife.
As Andrea walked by, she chuckled at Sean's worried expression. "Oh, stop crying, baby Ezra," she cooed. "I know you're hungry again. Mommy, will you feed you now? Let's go in." She passed by him and headed towards the house.
Sonny tapped Sean on the back. "That's how it started for me and Alicia too," he said. "You guys are still in the beginner phase. Soon it'll look like this." He pointed to Alicia, who was struggling to free herself from Louis's death grip on her dress.
Sonny let out a frustrated sigh. "I'm just the third wheel in their little world," he complained. "You need to be strong too, bro. You'll get over it with time."
Sean's expression darkened, but as he gazed at his twin princesses who were playing with Anna, Andrea's PA, his mood instantly brightened. He smiled, realizing that Ezra could do whatever he pleased as long as his girls were still by his side.
Jasmine's pregnancy was almost due, and since her arrival, she had been indulging in the buffet area, devouring every dessert that caught her eye.
"Ah, Jasmine! I've been looking for you everywhere," Jace said, shaking his head in disbelief as he approached her.
"Don't bother me," Jasmine managed to say, her mouth still full of muffins.
Jace chuckled and pulled her away from the buffet area before she further embarrassed him in front of his colleagues from work.
Andrea had invited a few colleagues to the sip-and-see ceremony, and they all held Jace in high regard. During Andrea's illness, he kept the company afloat, and his hard work had made a significant impact on the business.
Meanwhile, Elena had searched everywhere for Jacob but couldn't find him. "I mean, who doesn't attend their own nephew's sip-and-see party?" she thought to herself inwardly. "What could be more important to him?"
She pulled out her mobile phone from her purse and dialed his number. "Hey, why aren't you here yet?" she asked as soon as he answered.
"Chill, I'm on my way already. Is everyone there yet?" Jacob replied.
"You're two hours late already, so of course everyone is here," Elena said dryly.
"Honey, are you mad at me? Look, I know you're missing me a lot, and it must be boring over there without me," Jacob said apologetically.
"What nonsense! No one needs you here if you don't bother to come," Elena snapped.
"Honey, I'm behind you; please turn around," Jacob said softly.
Elena turned around swiftly and was left stunned when she saw Jacob eight feet away on one knee, with Pearl, Ruby, and Richard holding up a sign that read, "Will you marry me?" Behind him.
Lucious, dressed handsomely in a blue suit and red bow tie, walked over to Elena with a bouquet of roses in hand and presented them to her. "These are for you," he said in his sweet, tiny voice, causing everyone to coo over his cuteness.
"Thank you, little guy," Elena's eyes welled up with tears as she walked up to Jacob.
"What are you doing?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"What I should have done a long time ago," Jacob said, his eyes shining with emotion. "Elena, since the moment I knew you, my life has changed completely. I've been able to smile and laugh again, and it's all because of you. You've made my life meaningful, and I want to spend the rest of it with you. Since I gave you the promise ring, I've been able to keep my promises of being by your side, and I want to keep them till eternity. My love, Lena, will you make me the happiest man on earth by saying yes to marrying me?"
Elena extended her hand, nodding her head firmly as she spoke in a hoarse voice, "Yes, I want to be your wife."
Jacob removed the promise ring from her finger and slid the white diamond ring onto it. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause as they shared a kiss.
Mrs. Jones felt overwhelmed with joy and gratitude as she watched this momentous occasion unfold. Her daughter had escaped death's grasp and given her a grandson, and her eldest was finally getting married.
"I'm so proud of both of you," Mrs. Jones said, hugging them tightly as she basked in her proud mother's moment.
"Congratulations to you two," Andrea said with a smile, her words tinged with amusement. "You owe it to Ezra for stealing his shine at his sip-and-see party." The couple burst out laughing, and the tension was broken.
As Tyler walked in with Lacey by his side, a charming smile spread across his face. Everyone assumed she was his girlfriend, and they couldn't help but notice how elegant she looked alongside him. "Congratulations to you both!" Tyler said, his voice warm and friendly.
Jacob rushed over, arms wide open. "Bro, it's been ages!" He enveloped Tyler in a hearty hug.
Tyler laughed, releasing himself from the embrace. "Long time, no see, Jacob! I see you're still as energetic as ever." He turned to Andrea. "And congratulations to you too, Andrea! You're radiant tonight."
Lacey smiled graciously at Andrea, her eyes sparkling with warmth. Andrea returned the smile.
The atmosphere in the room was lively, with soft music playing and laughter filling the air. As Tyler and Lacey made their way over to join the group, Andrea felt grateful for this chance encounter with an old friend and his lovely companion.
As everyone congratulated the soon-to-be bride and groom, the evening continued with soft music playing in the background. Guests munched on food and drinks, played games, and made memories.
As the night drew to a close, Andrea tucked the kids into bed and joined Sean in the garden. He sat down on a chair, gazing up at the starry sky. Andrea relaxed into his arms as the chair swung gently back and forth, and they gazed up at the stars.
As they sat together, they reflected on everything that had happened over the past few months. They replayed memories in their minds, feeling grateful for their journey together.
Andrea gazed up at Sean with twinkling eyes. "Are you ready to take our next step together?" she asked softly.
Sean smiled, his hand warming her hand. "I'm always with you," he whispered.
You surely didn't take the necklace, but you did steal my heart," Sean teased, and Andrea burst into laughter, recalling their first encounter. When she had been framed for stealing the neckpiece.
"I'm so proud of us," Sean said, his voice filled with emotion. "We've overcome every obstacle that came our way."
"The faith and love you gave me helped me conquer even death itself," Andrea said with conviction. "And we were blessed with Ruby, Pearl, and Ezra."
"My love knows no bounds," Sean said. "Not even death can stop me from loving you."
"Our love will continue to live on forever," Andrea said.
As they shared a tender kiss, Sean cradled Andrea's face in his hands, his eyes locked on hers. "Forever and always," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
As they shared another passionate kiss, fireworks erupted in the sky above them.
