Chapter 136: Chapter 136

"Actually, I don't think that's a really good idea?"

" Are you scared that I might make a move on you? Come on, I won't touch you without your consent Lena, I promise"

That was the last thing Jacob would ever do after discovering that she was a victim of assault, although the culprit have been jailed. He had planned to tell her, but he knew it would make her uncomfortable and might make her feel unworthy of him, so he decided to keep it a secret.

" Really?"

" Yeah" Jacob came forward and carried her in a bridal style to his bedroom upstairs, he placed her gently on the bed and squat down in front of her. " This room belongs to the both of us and what is mine is yours too." he then fetched out a small blue box from his pocket, revealing a heart shaped blue diamond ring.

" Lena, don't panic. I'm not asking you to marry me just yet. I just want to make you feel rest assured so I got this promise ring for you" he took Elena's hand and slide the ring into her finger which looked good on her like it was specially made for her.

He gazed into her eyes with adoration and a smile played on his lips at the priceless reaction on Elena's face. He planted a kiss on her hand saying softly " I forever belong to you, Lena, just you and I promise you'd be save with me"

Elena gazed down at her finger, her eyes welling up with tears as she remembered the day three years ago when Ryan got engaged to her and broke her heart into a million pieces. The only thought that kept replaying in her mind was Ryan's betrayal, and if she would ever be able to heal from the pain.

"You're not saying anything, Lena. Don't you like it? If you don't, we can change it, and maybe this time we can go pick it out together," Jacob said, placing his hand on her chin and forcing her to look at him.

He gently wiped away the tears with his thumb. "Crying? What's wrong? Did I upset you?"

"You did nothing," Elena said, her voice trembling. "All of this just looks too familiar to me, and it reminded me of what happened years ago. I'm so sorry. But it still hurts a lot."

"Why are you apologizing to me?" Jacob asked, confusion etched on his face. "I'm not mad at you one bit."

Jacob pulled her into his arms, and Elena let out a sob, crying until his shirt was soaked with her tears.

"Are you feeling better now?" Jacob asked, laughing softly at her swollen eyes and rosy cheeks. He added, "You're quite adorable when you're upset."

Elena snapped at him, her voice firm but playful. "It's not funny!"

Jacob pretended to be hurt and ripped off his shirt, revealing his broad, muscular chest. Elena stuttered, her eyes darting away from the chiseled contours of his chest.

"I may take a quick shower," Jacob said, his voice low and husky. "Would you care to join me?"

Elena shook her head, her eyes avoiding his gaze. "No, that's okay, I'll wait for you to finish your shower or use the guestroom if needed."

With a playful smile, Jacob pecked her lips and winked before disappearing into the bathroom.

As he walked away, Elena couldn't help but notice his lean waist and broad shoulders, her heart skipping a beat.

When Jacob emerged from the bathroom, Elena felt as though she'd stepped into a romance novel, with his chiseled features and charming smile making him seem like a character come to life.

As they retired for the night, Jacob whispered sweet nothings in Elena's ear, his warm breath sending shivers down her spine.

"Good night, my dearest Lena," he whispered, kissing her forehead.

"Good night, boyfriend," she replied, snuggling closer to him as she drifted off to sleep.

..........

Mr and Mrs. Trevor had tried getting a lawyer to take Megan's case on but all the renowned lawyers in Newyork and outside refused to take on the case no matter the amount of money the Trevor's offered.

As long as they heard the girlfriend of the only son of the Jones is involved they quickly backed away without caring to know further.

At the end of the case, all evidence pointed against Megan and she was sentenced 25 years imprisonment.

Sean, Andrea, Jacob, and Elena all felt that she deserved the outcome, given everything she had done. This was just the law of karma, they believed. They were all relieved that their concerns about her were finally over.

Months later...

At BlueMoon Private Hospital, Sean stood outside the operating theater as Andrea was wheeled out of the VIP ward on a stretcher by two nurses. She was already dressed in her hospital gown, preparing for surgery.

"Baby, we got this, okay?" Sean grabbed her hand and kissed it, trying to reassure her.

Andrea nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks. She knew the risks were high, but she was willing to do whatever it took to ensure a safe delivery.

As the doctor prepared to take her into the operating room, Sean stopped him. "Please, make sure my wife's safety comes first," he said, his voice firm.

The doctor nodded. "We'll do everything we can to ensure Mrs. Wilson's safety," he promised, before proceeding with the operation. Sean paced back and forth in front of the waiting area, his anxiety growing as the minutes ticked by.

The lights flickered on, signaling the start of the operation. Sean took a deep breath and sat down on a nearby bench, his eyes fixed on the door as he waited for news.

As the hours ticked by, the hospital room grew thick with tension. The air was heavy with anticipation, filled with the antiseptic smell of disinfectant and the beeps of monitors. Sean paced back and forth his jaw clenched with anxiety.

Suddenly, the doctor emerged from the operating room, his expression grave. "Congratulations, your wife gave birth to a baby boy," he said softly.

As he spoke, a weak cry pierced the air, and everyone's attention turned to the baby. Elena rushed forward, her eyes shining with excitement. "Get him cleaned up," the doctor instructed, and Elena nodded, taking him to the nursery.

"What about my wife?" Sean asked finally breaking the silence. "How is she?"

The doctor's expression turned serious. "The mother hasn't regained consciousness and should be closely monitored in the ICU for any signs of other complications."

The room fell silent, as if everyone was holding their breath. Mrs. Jones eyes welled up with tears, while Sean's face contorted in worry.

Sean broke the silence, his voice firm but weary. "I think it's best if everyone goes home and gets some rest. I'll update you all once Andrea wakes up and it's safe to see the baby."

As they filed out of the hospital room, Mrs. Jones turned back to gaze at Andrea's still form, her heart heavy with worry for her daughter's well-being.

As the night wore on, Sean's phone buzzed with a call from Mrs. Wilson. He answered, and her warm face appeared on the screen. "Sean, how's Andrea and the baby?"

His voice filled with relief, Sean replied, "The baby's here. A boy! But Andrea's still recovering and hasn't woken up yet."

Mrs. Wilson's expression turned concerned, but then softened into a warm smile. "Thank goodness for that. Congratulations, son! You must be over the moon."

Sean chuckled, feeling a mix of emotions. "Yeah, it's a lot to take in. But I'm happy everything went smoothly."

Just then, Pearl's curious face popped into view, her big blue eyes shining with excitement. "Daddy, when are we coming home?"

Sean smiled, trying to reassure her. "Not just yet, sweetie. Mommy needs some rest first, and I need to get everything sorted out here at the hospital. But soon, okay?"

Ruby, who was sitting next to Pearl, piped up, her voice full of wonder. "Mommy had a baby brother!"

Sean's heart swelled with joy at his daughters' reaction. "That's right, Angels! You have a brand new baby brother."

The twins exchanged excited glances, and Pearl asked, "Can we see him?"

Sean hesitated for a moment before responding. "Not just yet, sweetie. Mommy needs some time to rest and get strong before we can bring you guys to meet him."

The twins nodded understandingly, and Sean continued, "But soon, you'll get to meet your little brother and give him lots of hugs and kisses."

" Go to sleep and don't stress your grandma, alright?"

With that, he hung up the phone, feeling grateful for the update from his parents and happy that his daughters were so excited about the new addition to their family.

Sean stood at the ICU window, gazing at Andrea's still form with a mix of worry and anxiety etched on his face. The doctor's reassurances that she would regain consciousness soon didn't seem to calm his nerves. He felt like he was stuck in a perpetual state of limbo, unable to shake off the feeling that something was off.

Just as he was starting to feel like he was losing his grip on reality, Jacob's gentle touch on his shoulder broke the spell. "Hey, buddy, come on. Let's get some food. You haven't eaten since morning."

Sean turned to face Jacob, his expression unreadable. "I don't know. I just can't seem to shake this feeling..."

Jacob's tone was soothing as he replied, "She'll be fine, Sean. The doctors said she'll wake up soon. But even if she doesn't, we can't sit here all night worrying about it. We need to take care of ourselves too."

Sean hesitated, but Jacob's words were laced with conviction. He knew his friend was right, but it was hard to tear himself away from Andrea's bedside.

As they made their way to the cafeteria, Elena was waiting for them with a warm smile. "Hey, guys! I managed to get some decent food ordered for us."

The spread before them was impressive – clam chowder, cornbread, and BBQ sandwiches. Jacob gave Elena a pat on the hair, and Sean couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy at the easy affection between them.

He took a few bites of his food, but his mind kept wandering back to Andrea. The uncertainty gnawed at him like a persistent itch he couldn't scratch.

Finally, he pushed his chair back and stood up. "I think I'm going to head back up to the ICU."

Elena's eyes narrowed slightly as she watched him go. "Sean, you're going to exhaust yourself if you don't take a break. Why don't you let us keep an eye on her for a bit?"

Sean shook his head stubbornly. "I need to be there for her."

As he walked away, Jacob called out after him, "Hey, Sean! You're going to make yourself sick if you don't eat and rest too!"

Elena's lips parted to speak, but Jacob intervened, shaking his head firmly. "It's futile trying to make him do anything. He'll only listen to himself."

As Sean disappeared from view, Jacob turned to Elena, his emotions warring on his face. "I never realized how deeply he loved my sister, or that he could love someone unconditionally. I guess I was so caught up in my own feelings that I couldn't see it."

Elena's expression softened, and she reached out to touch Jacob's arm. "Actually, come to think of it, they never did have a traditional wedding," she said gently.

Jacob nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, and I think that's because people like them, who are so deeply in love, don't need those formalities. Some people say their vows and break them left and right. But for Sean and Andrea, being there for each other is what matters most."

As they stood there, Elena's touch on his arm was a gentle reminder of the emotional connection between them. Jacob felt his respect for Sean growing, not just as a person, but as a partner to his sister.

Sean returned to the ICU, his eyes fixed on the photo on his phone. The picture showed Andrea and the twins laughing and smiling on their vacation in Maldives, taken on their third birthday celebration. He caressed the screen with his thumb, his eyes welling up with emotion.

"Come on, Andrea," he whispered, his voice cracking. "When will you wake up? I'm missing you so much. Don't you want to meet our little one? You were always so excited when we found out you were having another baby."

He gazed at the photo, lost in thought. This was his favorite picture of her – the way her eyes sparkled with joy, the way her hair shone in the sunlight. He felt a lump form in his throat as he remembered the happy moments they'd shared as a family.
