Chapter 131: Chapter 131

Andrea was later discharged, and by the time Sean found out, he arrived at the hospital only to be told that she had been discharged and her family had taken her away.

Sean drove straight to the Jones residence with the twins. He hadn't been able to get home earlier when the nanny informed him through Ruby's iPad.

"Daddy, why did we come to see Grandpa and Granny? Aren't we going home to Mommy?" Ruby asked.

"Because Mommy is here with Grandpa and Granny," Sean explained as they walked into the house, where the maids bowed slightly in respect.

Jacob came out of his room downstairs and walked up to Sean. "So where were you when my sister was in pain? You left her all by herself because your company is more important than her health? Don't forget you're the one who put her in this condition!"

Mr. and Mrs. Jones came downstairs, having heard Jacob raising his voice, and already assumed Sean was there.

"Uncle, why are you shouting at Daddy?" Pearl chimed in.

"Daddy didn't do anything wrong. He loves Momma," Pearl added.

"Girls, come upstairs; let me take you to see your mom. She has been asking to see you since she came to visit me," Mrs. Jones said, holding Pearl and Ruby's hands and taking them upstairs.

"Dad, is Andrea fine? What did the doctor say?" Sean asked, not having time to bicker with Jacob at such a crucial moment.

Mr. Jones sighed deeply. "What can I say? The doctor said it's one of the effect of placenta previa."

Sean's expression darkened slightly; he had made sure she took her medications as instructed by the doctor, so he couldn't understand how this happened.

"Dad, what's the need to tell him? Andrea will get an abortion done. I don't want my sister going through any sort of pain anymore," Jacob said.

"Jacob! What are you saying? Andrea and Sean are the parents of this baby, and he has every right to know what's going on with his wife," Mr. Jones snapped, fed up with his son's nonsense.

"Can I see Andrea?" Sean asked.

Mr. Jones nodded, and Sean quickly headed upstairs to see Andrea. He found her lying in bed, surrounded by their two daughters, who were cuddled up beside her. She was reassuring them that she was fine.

"Sean, you're here!" Andrea smiled and gestured for him to take a seat.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there, and I left my phone at home when you tried to reach me," Sean said, his voice laced with regret. "I should have never left your side, and now I just feel consumed by guilt."

"It wasn't your fault that my tummy started hurting suddenly," Andrea said. "You've been a great support system for me these past few weeks, and I feel blessed to have you as my soulmate."

Sean's expression turned solemn. "Andrea, look at the baby... I think it's best we consider getting rid of it. Dad explained everything the doctor said, and I can't bear the thought of putting your life in danger any further."

The girls excused themselves to go tell their grandmother to make soup for Andrea.

As soon as they were out of earshot, Andrea began to speak in a serious tone. "Sean, what has come over you? I thought we'd already made a decision about this baby."

"I know we did," Sean replied, "but now your condition has advanced to another level. Should I just sit back and watch my wife slowly slip away?"

Andrea's response was icy cold. "Sean, there's nothing you or anyone can say to make me get rid of this baby. It's my life, my body, and my baby. If you don't want to be a part of this child's life, that's not a problem."

Sean looked taken aback by her words. "Are you being serious? Come on, don't be stubborn, Andrea."

Andrea turned her back on him without sparing him a glance. "Sean, please leave. I want to rest."

"Are you coming home with me and the kids?" Sean asked.

Andrea's response was dry and detached. "Mom, Dad, and Jacob already talked to me, and they want me to stay with them for a while, which I agreed to."

"Okay then," Sean said. "What about the girls? You know they won't leave if you don't come with us."

"Then let the girls stay here with me," Andrea said firmly.

Sean left quietly, leaving Andrea alone in the room. She finally let out the tears she had been holding back. She was exhausted from fighting for herself and everyone else's understanding.

....

Later that day, Elena arrived to spend time with Andrea and cheer her up. Jacob had told her about the fight between Andrea and Sean.

As Elena stepped into the Jones residence for the first time, she felt a mix of nerves and apprehension. She wasn't prepared to meet Mr. and Mrs. Jones, who were eager to see their son settle down with her.

Luckily, only Pearl and Ruby were in the living room, playing with their toys. They spotted Elena and ran to her, excitedly greeting her. "Godmom, you're here!" Ruby exclaimed.

" Aunty!"

"Don't call her 'Aunty', Ruby said "Momma said she's our godmom, and when she's not around, she'll take care of us," Ruby corrected.

Elena's eyes widened as she knelt down to hug the twins. "Kids, don't listen to her, okay? She's never going to be absent," she whispered.

Just then, Jacob emerged from his room, looking for Elena. He was relieved to find her already in the living room, hugging the twins. It was a heartwarming sight that made him think Elena would make a great mother in the future.

"Uncle, Godmom is here!" Pearl giggled mischievously.

Jacob picked her up and tickled her until she squealed with laughter. Elena tensed up at the sight of Jacob, fidgeting with her fingers before clearing her throat. "Where are Mr. and Mrs. Jones?" she asked thoughtfully.

"They're upstairs and worried sick about Andrea's condition," Jacob replied. "So you don't have to worry; they're not in the mood for small talk."

Elena nodded. "Where is Andrea?"

"Let me take you to her room," Jacob suggested. Elena forced a smile and followed him.

She knocked on the door before entering Andrea's room, where she found her seated on the bed, munching on a bowl of fruit in a bored manner.

"Peach! Missed me?" Elena asked, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

Lena chuckled and sat down beside Andrea. "Yeah, Jacob was worried that you'd be bored all by yourself in this room all day."

Or he was missing you and looking for a way to get you here," Andrea wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

"No, it's not like that," Elena protested.

"Girl, trust me; that's the truth," Andrea said. "He was talking about you to me today, even went as far as telling me to give him more information about you and how he looks at you says it all"

"For real?" Elena asked.

"Absolutely!" Andrea confirmed.

"So tell me, do you want to talk about your fight with Sean?" Elena asked gently.

Andrea shook her head. "I don't want to. I'm the one who's sick here; does he expect me to beg him on top of that? Look, Lena, I'm really attached to this baby and I want it at all costs."

"What about Pearl and Ruby? Did you think about how they'll feel if something happens to you?" Elena asked softly.

"Just as much as I love Sean and my girls, I also love my unborn baby," Andrea said. "So if they love me, they should pray and support me during this tough time. Hopefully Sean comes back to his senses."

"I understand," Elena said. "I'm sure at the end of the day, Sean will respect your decision; he genuinely loves you and that's why he's mad at you because he can't imagine life without his soulmate."

Andrea hugged Elena tightly. "I hope everything will be okay."

"It will," Elena whispered softly, patting Andrea's back.

As the day went on, Elena suggested watching a new series that had just come out, and Andrea agreed. She turned on the TV and quickly connected it to the Netflix app.

As the day progressed, the sun began to set, and both ladies realized how dark it had become outside.

"Oh my goodness! How did it get so dark so fast?" Elena pouted her lips sadly.

"Hello... We watched 16 episodes in just one day. That's really crazy if you think about it," Andrea replied.

"You're right! By the way, I need to head out now. I promise to drop by and see you tomorrow," Elena said.

"Let me follow you downstairs and check on the girls. Mom must be exhausted from watching them fight," Andrea said.

The two ladies came downstairs, and Mrs. Jones' face instantly brightened up. It had been more than a week since she'd heard anything about Elena from Jacob, and she began to think that scumbag of a son of hers might have broken up with such a simple and decent woman like Elena.

"Oh dear, you're here! Why didn't you come see me? And why didn't that rascal send you up to meet me while you're here?" Mrs. Jones asked.

"Jacob told me everything that was going on, and how you and Uncle were feeling, so we decided not to disturb you both. But I promise I was planning on coming to say hi before leaving," Elena explained.

"Forget about that. How have you been? It's so good to see you here," Mrs. Jones stated delightfully.

"I've been doing very well, Aunt. I'd love to stay and talk with you, but it's getting late. Please help me say my goodbyes to Uncle and Jacob," Elena said.

"Then please stay for the night, dear. It's already late, and it's not safe outside. I could have asked the driver to drop you off, but he had an emergency at his place and had to travel back home unexpectedly," Mrs. Jones said.

"Yeah, Lena, please stay. There's a guest room here, and if you agree to stay, everyone will be happy," Andrea chimed in, stylishly winking at Mrs. Jones, who returned the gesture.

Elena didn't have the heart to reject the look of expectation on both the mother and daughter's faces, and she found herself nodding her head in agreement.

"Yay!!" Andrea clapped her hands in excitement.

"Jacob really won himself a lottery. I'm super proud of him," Mrs. Jones said.

"Mom, where are the girls?" Andrea asked, having not heard their voices since coming into the living room.

"Oh, I told the maid to run them a bath and put them to bed," Mrs. Jones replied.

"You know they wouldn't fall asleep if I don't read them a story or sing a lullaby for them," Andrea added.

"You're spoiling those kids rotten," Mrs. Jones teased.

"They are my babies after all; it's my duty to spoil them. Look who's even talking like you weren't the one who started spoiling them! Let me go check on them," Mrs. Jones said.

Andrea excused herself, leaving Elena alone in the living room with Mrs. Jones. "Dear, you must be exhausted and might want to get to sleep early," Mrs. Jones said. "Let me show you your room."

Elena nodded immediately, her mind racing with scenarios of what could happen if she stayed with Mrs. Jones for another minute. What if Mrs. Jones asked her about an engagement party or marriage? What if she asked her a question about Jacob that she couldn't answer? The thoughts swirled in her head, making her feel restless.

Mrs. Jones didn't take Elena upstairs as she had thought, instead leading her to a second room downstairs. "Please feel free to make yourself at home," Mrs. Jones said. "This is Jacob's room, which means it's also yours. Cleaning up the guest room is a lot of work, considering the time it will take. I'll have the maids send down anything you might need. Goodnight, dear."
