Chapter 11: The man is so sly

He quickly shook his thoughts away. “Where is her mother now?” Sean asked as he rested his hands on his chin.

“ Her mom got married a long time ago with two kids and she's currently in France, ” Drew replied.

Sean scoffed “ they are not even worthy to be called parents ” he muttered.

“ What about her aunty? I'm sure they must still have a relationship ” Sean said.

“ She hasn't been in contact with her aunt ever since she got pregnant, ” Drew replied.

“ Alright you can leave now ” Sean waved his hand in dismissal.

He tilted his head with his eyes narrowed “ is she the lady I spent the night with? Is the baby mine?. I need to get to the bottom of this soon ” he mumbled.

Andrea sat on the sofa in her blue hoodie while eating some popcorn.

Elena came down the stairs already dressed in casual black jeans and white shirt. “ I will be leaving now. I'm on the night shift tonight. Take good care of yourself ” she said.

“ Andrea frowned and sat up ” er…… if you are on the night shift then why are you leaving for work now? “ she questioned.

” Oh, I have been skipping my shifts for over a week now and it's my turn to pay back the favour, “ she said nonchalantly.

Andrea felt a gush of warmth flood her heart

She wondered life without Elena,she  wasn't just her best friend but a sister to her. She knew Elena had taken a leave previously just to take care of her.

” Thank you Elena, I owe you big time, “ she said with a warm smile.

Elena knocked her on her head ” stop embarrassing me by thanking me. I will leave now, bye “ she said and finally headed out.

Andrea waved at her. She sighs loudly” I guess it will just be us all through babies “ she said to her stomach.

She was about to climb the stairs when she heard a beep sound in her phone indicating she was sent a message.

” Hi Andrea, it's me, Jacob Jones. How are you doing?“ she glanced at the message and smiled.

She sat down back and replied ” hello, I'm doing good “ she replied.

” and the twins? “ he sent another message instantly.

Andrea rolled her eyes as he was just looking for a way to keep the conversation going. Why didn't he just add this to the previous message?

” The twins are very naughty and strong, “ she replied.

He sent a laughing emoji. She only smiled and dropped her phone back on the sofa.

She got up but before she could take a step her cell phone started ringing.

She picked it up and said ” hello “ she said.

” It's Jacob, Jacob Jones. I was wondering if you will take me around Australia to explore. It's been boring staying at the Villa, “ he said.

Andrea rolled her eyes ” oh that's easy you can try a tourist they will give you a tour around the city “ she said unceremoniously.

The other end of the line was silent for a while ” it wouldn't be fun, when I'm not with someone familiar to me “ he said gently.

” But Mr Jones you don't even know me “ she said with a puzzled look.

” I know I know but we have met before come-on. We are already acquainted with one another. You can take it as paying me for the other night“ he said.

” Mr Jones I didn't know you were this petty. So you helped me with the intention of getting a favour back in return? “ she asked surprisingly.

” No, I'm not like that, I'm not a narrow minded person. I…I  “ he stuttered nervously.

” No more questions, just do this for me please,please “ he pleaded playfully.

The big boss of JJ entertainment was pleading with her of course she couldn't say no anymore in fact she felt flattered.

” Alright, fine, fine, “ she replied.

” Thanks, I will come over soon “ he said and hung up.

"This man is so sly"  She shrugged her shoulders and went upstairs to change.

At the top floor of the building in the CCTV room. Sean sat on the chair with his legs crossed.

” For heaven's sake Sean, you want me to find you footage of five months ago “ Riley said.

” Is there a problem with that? “ he said as he pressed his lips together.

Riley shook his head in annoyance and returned his gaze back to the computer.

After more than 30 minutes Riley called him over. Here is all the footage from five months ago.

” move “ Sean pushed him roughly and sat on the chair as he finally took over.

Riley clenched his jaw in anger. Sometimes he wondered how he ended up being friends with this arrogant man.

Thankfully he could still remember the date clearly. He went straight to the footage from outside the club.

After scrolling for what seems like forever he could feel his eyes aching. He had been staring at the goddamn screen for ages. He turned to Riley with red watery eyes.

” It's your club not mine and as you know the customers are always right “ he said and pushed Riley back on the chair.

” fuck you! “ Riley cursed angrily as he took control again.

They kept scrolling while Sean watched carefully trying to find Andrea on the footage.

His eyes suddenly caught sight of a lady in a brown dress.

” Pause, “ he quickly said.

Riley turned to him waiting for his orders. Sean rolled his eyes ” of course zoom in must I tell you everything“ he said.

Riley zoomed in and his heart sank immediately ”Andrea was really present that night “ he said inwardly.

” Good check the footage from inside the club now “ Sean demanded again.

He watched the video and it got to the part when he had walked into the dim light bar. His gaze was fixated on the screen anticipating to see the lady he had spent the night with.

He watched as he approached the counter and suddenly the video turned blank.

" What's going on? " Sean asked with annoyance.

” I don't know, I think this video has a virus or something I'll call someone to come check “ Riley rose from his seat.

” I need to go now, “ Sean said, heading to the door.

” really?  won't you even say thank you?“ Riley asked.

” Why should I ? “ he threw the question back at him, he went out without waiting for Riley's reply.

At the condominium, Andrea got out of the house and she spotted Jacob Jones leaning on his car.

“ hi ” he waved at her and she chuckled.

“ Why did you change your car? she asked quizzically as she stared at his maybach.

“ oh I thought that the Lamborghini didn't suit your current condition so I got another car ” he replied with a smile.

“ Well thanks for being thoughtful,” she replied.

They got in and she showed him the way.

“ Here, stop here ” she said and he stopped.

They got down and they walked into a park.

He looked at her with a puzzled look “ why did you bring me over here ” he asked.

Andrea smiled “ Mr Jones when I was three whenever I was sad my Aunt always brought me here to cheer me up ” she said.

Jacob smiled at her “ what about your mum?” he asked and her smile slowly faded.

She sat on the bench and lowered her head “ I didn't grow up with my mom ” she said and he could hear the hint of hurt in her voice.

He took the seat next to hers “ I'm sorry about that. Is she late? ” he decided to ask after all he had already opened old wounds.

She shook her head “ mom abandoned me when I was just three” she said sadly.

“ I'm so sorry to hear that ” Jacob Jones said and regretted asking.

“It's okay,” she smiled.

“ So Mr Jones, there are alot of places I have not been to here in Australia” Andrea said.

He laughed “ are you kidding me weren't you born here ” he asked.
