Chapter 105: Chapter 105

Sean leaned in and gently pressed his lips against his wife's. Her eyes fluttered closed, and a contented smile spread across her face as she savored the sweetness of their kiss.

He pulled away shortly afterwards. "Good morning, hubby. Why haven't you gone to work?" Andrea said, narrowing her eyes suspiciously at him.

"Isn't it nice to wake up to see your husband's face first thing in the morning?" Sean replied with a question.

"It certainly is," Andrea responded enthusiastically. "In fact, I would like that every day, by the way," she added as she sat up on the bed with her back relaxed against the headboard.

She titled her head and noticed a tray containing a sandwich, nicely cut apples, and a cup of tea beside her. "Wait, did you do all of this for me?" Andrea asked. Her eyes quickly softened, feeling touched by his thoughtfulness.

Sean replied, "Yes. Do you like it?"

Andrea's eyes lit up with joy. "Of course I do. Thank you so much, honey," she pecked him on the cheek.

Sean stroked her hair. "I'm glad you do. My culinary skills might be lame," he said, using quotation marks to indicate that he was quoting someone else's opinion, "but trust me, my sandwiches are out of the world."

Andrea, who was about to take a bite, froze in her movement. She was taken aback by his words; even lame was an understatement when it came to his culinary skills.

The saying "nobody is perfect" perfectly describes Sean in this case. While he excelled in other areas, such as managing a multi-billion-dollar business, being a good father to Ruby and Pearl, and satisfying his partner's intimate needs, there were still flaws.

She hesitated to eat the sandwich again, as she didn't want to risk food poisoning for the second time. She set it down and smiled at Sean. "I'll go brush my teeth first." She quickly got up and prepared to leave the room, but Sean held her wrist.

"I know you're scared to try it out. Baby, please just trust me and have a bite," Sean coaxed her gently. Andrea reluctantly agreed and took a small bite, chewing slowly and savoring the flavor before swallowing.

Her face brightened as she began to enjoy the sandwich more than she expected. "Okay, this is appetizing," Andrea declared as she shamelessly began to devour the sandwich.

"Wow, this is way beyond my expectations," Andrea added as she washed down the sandwich with a cup of tea.

Sean couldn't resist teasing her by saying, "I thought you said you wanted to brush your teeth first a while ago."

Andrea felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment as she bit her lip gently. "So why aren't you getting ready for work?" She quickly changed the subject.

Sean's lips curled into a slight smile as he closed the gap between them, their bodies pressing against each other, both feeling the heat radiating from their bodies. "Today is a special day," he said, "considering I'm spending the entire day with you, darling wife."

.....

"Hey Jasmine," Amber said enthusiastically as she sat down opposite her at the canteen.

"Why the long face? What's wrong?" Amber asked, eyeing Jasmine suspiciously.

"I'm fine," Jasmine lied through her teeth as she boredly stabbed the vegetables with her fork.

"Okay, if you say so." Amber shrugged her shoulders casually and focused her attention on her food.

"Fine! It's Jace," she mumbled in a low tone.

"What about him? I thought you weren't in a relationship with him." Amber waggled her brows suggestively.

"Would you quit that? It's just that he's been acting different lately. He no longer texts me, sends me flowers, or comes to the hospital to see me. I guess he was just trying to get under my skirt all along. I really thought he was different," Jasmine said, looking aggrieved as she shared her problems with her best friend.

"I know, right? Would you have said yes to him if he kept acting relentlessly?" Amber suddenly asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jasmine bit her lower lip and nodded slowly in response, "Yes. I think he's kind of cute and definitely my type of guy."

Amber exclaimed excitedly, "Oh my goodness! Are you in love with him, Jasmine?"

Jasmine sighed deeply. "I guess so." The thoughts were both exhilarating and scary for her. She wasn't sure when or how she started developing these feelings for him, but she was certain they were genuine.

"Maybe you should try calling or texting him. There's no harm in trying," Amber simply suggested.

Andrea let out a silent sigh as Sean surprised her yet again. First, he prepared breakfast in bed for her, then he took her to the nail salon to get her nails done. Now, they were on their way to an unknown destination, and Andrea couldn't contain her excitement.

"Where are we going now?" Andrea asked Sean, who was focused on the road ahead.

"We'll be there soon. Be patient," Sean replied, glancing at Andrea before returning his gaze to the road.

Andrea turned to look at the well-behaved children in the backseat, who were unusually quiet today.

"What's up with Ruby and Pearl? None of them have thrown a tantrum yet. Should we be worried?" Andrea asked, looking a bit concerned.

"No, I don't think so. It's actually quite unusual for them to be this well-behaved. But let's not jinx it; hopefully, they will continue to be this way," Sean replied with a smile.

Andrea was relieved to hear that, but she couldn't help but wonder why the girls were being so cooperative. She turned to Sean and asked, "Do you think they're trying to make up for all the times they've misbehaved in the past?"

Sean chuckled and said, "Maybe they're saving their energy for the birthday party next week. Either way, let's enjoy this peaceful moment and cherish it while it lasts."

Andrea nodded in agreement and then asked, "What do you think we should do for their birthday? Should we throw a big party or keep it simple?"

Sean thought for a moment before responding, "We should definitely throw a grand birthday party for our little angels. They deserve all the love and attention in the world on their special day. Your mom and mine will definitely want to make it a grand affair too."

Andrea smiled and said, "You're right. Let's make it a day they'll never forget."

" Right! And I'm sure Ruby and Pearl want a sibling to play with," Sean said nonchalantly.

A bright shade of pink crept onto Andrea's cheeks as she replied, "I can't believe you right now. I'm not sure they want that; it's more of you saying what you want." Andrea rolled her eyes skyward.

Sean asked brazenly, "Ruby, Pearl, my sweet little babies, do you want mommy and daddy to give you a cute tiny sibling?"

Andrea, face palmed in frustration, said, "Oh my gosh, not again. You are so unbelievable, Sean!"

Pearl concidentally babbled innocently, "No-no!"

This made Andrea burst out laughing. "That's my daughter! Mommy is very proud of you, baby."

Sean scoffed loudly. "You know this is cheating, right? We both know 'no' is Pearl's second word so far after she called out to you for the first time."

Andrea decided to tease him: "Oh yeah, and she kept calling out to me ever since. Isn't it strange she hasn't called out to you yet? I mean, she even chose 'no' as her second word rather than to call out to you."

Ever since the day Sean asked Pearl to call him dada! In the presence of Andrea, she naively said 'no' to him; instead, Andrea had been mocking him.

"Thank goodness I was blessed with two beautiful daughters. Ruby will never forsake me, at least," Sean said with a smile as he pulled Andrea's cheek lovingly.

A notification sound went off on Andrea's phone. She saw a text from Linda saying, "Are you guys still coming over for dinner tonight? Rich is also excited to meet the twins."

Andrea smiled and immediately texted back, "Don't worry, Lin. We will be there at 7 p.m. sharp."

Sean looked at Andrea's phone and asked, "Who is making my wife smile so much?"

Andrea replied, "It's Lin. She texted me, saying that Rich is excited to meet the twins and can't stop talking about it."

"Unfortunately, we will not be going there for dinner tonight. I already told you that I only want to spend the day with you and the kids."

"But Lin has already prepared everything. Won't she be sad if I tell her we won't be coming tonight?"

"Come on, Andrea, aren't you enjoying yourself spending the day with me and just the kids? Do you want to spoil everything just to make Lin happy?"

Andrea firmly grasps Sean's hand and squeezes it reassuringly. "Absolutely not. I'm having the best time of my life spending the day with you and just the kids, and I wouldn't trade this for anything. Besides, you even skipped a day at work just so you could be with me all day. How could I possibly ruin everything you planned, honey?"

He felt his heart flutter at her touch; her voice was barely above a whisper as she spoke earlier. He couldn't help but bring her hand to his lips and place a featherlight kiss on it. "I love you very much, baby," he said. "I will try my best to spend more time with you and the kids from now on. I promise."

Andrea pouted sadly and texted back with some sort of excuse to Lin: "Sorry, we won't be able to come over for dinner tonight. I ate food poisoning from your brother-in-law."

"Sean, I don't want to be nosy, but I just can't get this thought out of my mind without an answer. Why do I feel like Alec and Lin aren't on good terms?" Andrea uttered it in a low tone.

"You're quite a good observer," Sean sincerely complimented her. "Lin's stubbornness is just getting in between her and Alec's relationship. You don't need to worry; they will sort it out," Sean responded calmly.

Andrea decided not to ask further. If Sean wanted to tell her more, he would have done that without waiting for her to ask. Instead, she remained quiet and enjoyed the amicable ride.

As the car slowly approached "The Serenity Center," Andrea's heart skipped a bit. Whenever she recalled Sean's speech from that night, it never failed to give her a cozy feeling.

"Why are we here?" Andrea turned to look at Sean with a puzzled look on her face.

"We are here to spoil my wife. My beautiful wife has been making no effort to spend the money her hubby has been making, so she left me with no choice but to force it on," Sean explained with a smile.
