Outside the mall, a cab parked in front of the store and a handsome guy stepped out from the car. He was dressed in a jean trouser and a black t-shirt with smiley Emoji printed on it. His hair was as dark as the coal, his face looked like that of Alfred’s. his scent filled the air as he stepped inside the mall.
Jonah had just returned to the city and he wanted to buy some gifts for his niece and brother but when he entered inside the mall, he was greeted by the crowd his saw in the toys section. He stood there looking at the crowd surprisingly because there was no way he could get through that crowd to pick what he wanted for his niece.
“ This is weird, since when did people started fighting in public?” he shook his head and was about to go out of the mall when his eyes caught a face that looked familiar. “ Is that….. no, that’s not her. What would she be doing in this city?” he turned to leave but his instinct made him turn back again and he saw her face
“ Wait a minute, isn’t that Vanessa? What is she doing here and…” he paused when Nala paused Vanessa and she staggered backward. Without hesitating, Jonah ran there and caught Vanessa before she could fall to the floor. “ Jonah?” she said confusingly, they stared at each other until they were brought back to the reality by Nala. “ Look who we’ve got here” she clapped her hands after releasing Mara “ are you alright?” he asked but Vanessa was too surprise to answer him. “ Wait a second, isn’t this Jonah?” Nala was surprised to see Jonah after those years. “ Yes it’s me” Jonah said looking at Her Furiously.
“ What are you doing here? I mean, where have you been?” Nala asked but Mum interrupted them before he could answer her question. “ You are the father of that child right?” She pointed to Mara and that was the first time Jonah saw Mara. “ What are you saying?” Vanessa tried to shut her but Nala's Mischievous button was already pressed. “ Are you kidding me? Mara isn’t his child” Nala said with a Smirk. “ Look at their faces, that girl looks like him” Mum said and Nala shook her head.
“ Mum, don’t you remember him?” Nala pointed to Jonah who was looking at them confusingly. People have started withdrawing when they saw that it was more like a family issues. “ Oh that Boy? Wow! He’s grown up. Anyways, that explains everything, he disappeared when she got pregnant” Mum said but Nala Giggled. “ No mum, He disappeared before she got pregnant. I don’t think he’s the father of that child. I mean come on, She wasn’t his type that was why he left her” Vanessa was getting fed up of with all of that but the more she tried to walk away from them, the more that kept pushing it.
“ He’s Not my Daddy!” Mara shouted in her tiny voice. She too was so fed up to see them bullying her and her Mummy. “ Hey kid shut up, you don’t know anything” Mum said and Mara looked at Vanessa. “ Let’s Go Mummy, they don’t know anything” Vanessa took Mara’s hand and they left the Mall, she has never been Embarrassed in her whole life like that day. People were there and worst of all, her Ex boyfriend too was there.
“ What’s all this” She tapped her Forehead waiting for a Taxi to stop by. “ What happened?” Vanessa turned and saw Jonah standing behind her. “ N.. Nothing” Vanessa said trying to avoid him. He was her boyfriend, they loved each other so much but something happened that made them broke up. She never wanted that life for herself and she felt embarrassed standing in front of Jonah with a kid. “ Vanessa” He called but she stopped a Taxi and Mara entered, Vanessa looked at Jonah before she could enter the car. “ I never wanted this for myself” She entered the car and closed the door .
Jonah Froze, he couldn’t move or do anything. That wasn’t the Vanessa he knew, she was a lovely one and when they were together, she never allowed him to touch her.
“ What Happened, did she got married?” Jonah wondered. He went back inside the mall and shopped for what he went there to buy. When he was done buying the gifts, He bumped in to Nala who was also going out of the mall. “ Nala” He called and she paused. “ What do you want?” She asked him with a smirk and Jonah Chuckled. “ Somethings never change” He said, He thought Nala would have stopped being Rude since she has grown up but he was wrong. “ Did Vanessa got married?” He asked her and she Scoffed.
“ Why are you interested in her life?” She moved closer to him. “ Tell me what happened between you two that made you guys broke up. I’ve been dying to know but Vanessa didn’t tell us” Nala said and she smiled. “ I’m Relief that she didn’t say a word to you” He said smiling. “ Why? Did she do something bad?” Nala asked and he nodded his head. “ Nope, Vanessa is a good girl. I was the one that wanted a break up with her then. I Had my Reasons” He concluded. “ Then since she’s a Good girl, Your Good girl has done something terrible years ago and she now have a kid” Nala Raised a brow.
“ How? Tell me who got her pregnant” He Requested but Nala shook her head. “ I don’t know why you want to know but, No one knows who the father of that kid is. Maybe you should go ask her” she pointed outside. “ She’s already Gone, That means I should go with you” Jonah said smiling.
