Few minutes later, the meeting started and he left for the hall. Alfred couldn’t concentrate on the meeting so we’ll because his mind was at home. He wanted to go home quickly and share the Good news with Vanessa that Kiara was out if his life for Good. The meeting took longer than he expected and head no choice than to stay until they were done.
7:30pm, The meeting was over. Alfred didn’t stay to exchange greetings with the Delegates sent from The Wendy’s, he was also glad that they didn’t send the Nala the last born of the Family. He quickly left the office because his Assistant didn’t come with him to the company. He entered the house beaming with smile and saw Mandy coming out from Mara’s room. He looked at her from head to toe and Chuckled, Mandy was wearing a short tight skirt with a sleeveless crop top, her belly button was outside and she was wearing a black high heel shoes.
“ You are back” She smiled happily when she saw Alfred. “ What were you doing there?” He asked her and she Chuckled. “ I don’t know” She said and walked past him. “ Where are you going? It’s already 8pm” Alfred said and she turned around. “ I’m going for a friend’s birthday party and I won’t return now” She said and went away before Alfred could say a word because she knew he might Stop her from going out. Alfred shook his head, he wanted to open Mara’s room but didn’t. He went to Vanessa’s room and she was already sleeping. “ Damn it, I should have returned earlier” He closed the door Quietly and went to his room.
Next morning, Vanessa woke up with a slight headache. She Dragged herself to the bathroom and took her bath, she brushed her teeth and came out of the bathroom tying a town on her chest and another towel on her wet hair. She sat in front of the mirror touching her face Which was swollen from the sleep.
“ What’s this” She said and started applying the lotion. She dried her hairs, Changed in to a simple gown and left for the sitting room. She sat down on the sofa and minutes later, Alfred also came to the sitting room. “ What Happened to your face?” He asked her and she rolled her eyes. “ I don’t know” She said looking away. He sat beside her on the sofa and wrapped his arms around her Shoulder. “ Hey, Stop this” She wanted to move away but he dragged her back. “ You are my wife to be” He reminded her. “ Whatever” She said.
Bella came out from the kitchen and greeted them , She went upstairs to prepare Mara for the days and when she opened the door, Mara wasn’t on the bed.
“ Awn my little baby is now grown up” The bed wasn’t Squeezed, she went closer to the bathroom after waiting for some minutes for Mara to come out. She knocked on the door but got no response, she opened the door but Mara wasn’t there. “ Maybe she’s in the garden, She waited for me but didn’t see me” she smiled while going out of the room. She walked past Alfred and Vanessa who were playing love in the sitting room and went out to the garden. “ Weird” She looked around but didn’t see Mara where she always go to, Bella became alert, she Searched everywhere in the house but didn’t see Mara. She went back inside the house again and entered the kitchen.
“ Have you seen Mara?” She asked Mary who was in the kitchen with Mona. “ No, why?” Mary asked. “ What about you?” She asked Mona but Mona nodded her head “ I can find Mara, she’s nowhere to be found” Bella said worriedly. “ Are you serious? Did you look everywhere? She might be hiding somewhere” Mary said. She washed her hands and cleaned them on the apron. “ Let’s go” They went out of the kitchen together with Bella and Vanessa asked them. “ What’s happening? Why are you moving around in a hurry?” She asked Bella. “ I…I can’t find Mara” She stammered. Alfred and Vanessa sprang up from the sofa and looked at each other.
“ What do you mean by you can’t find Mara? Did you check everywhere?” Alfred asked and Bella nodded her head. “ Yes, I searched everywhere in the house, I also asked the security man but he said she haven’t come out from the house today” Bella Said worriedly. “ What!” Vanessa ran upstairs, she entered Mara’s room but she wasn’t there. She checked under the bed because Mara loved hiding under the bed but she wasn’t there. She checked the bathroom too and the wardrobe but Mara wasn’t there. “ Mara” Vanessa called, her heat started beating fast and she started Sweating. She ran out of the room, she went out and started shouting Mara’s name but got no response.
Alfred, Vanessa, Mary, Bella, The Assistant, the security man and even Mona joined them in searching for Mara all around the house but there wasn’t a glimpse of her.
“ What should I do, where did Mara go?” Vanessa held her head with her hand as tears escaped her eyes. Alfred was as confused and scared as Vanessa was. “ How did she get out of the house? When did she get out?” He Thought. He asked the security man again but he wasn’t the one that did night duty. He took over this morning and the one that did the night had already left. “ Those this means Mara left the house in the night?” His Assistant asked. Alfred brought out his phone, he dialed a number and called the cops. He gave them the details of who they should arrest and cut the call.
“ My Baby” Vanessa cried, Alfred held her and took her inside the house. He had send the cops to arrest the security man that did the night duty but there was another person that came to his mind.
