She asked him and he Quickly removed his Shoes. He placed them outside the room and tip toed inside.

Grandma was sitting on a cushion on the floor and in front of her was a mini table which the foods she was eating were.

“ Good Morning, Grandma” He greeted with a broken voice. “ Where’s Alfred?” She asked ignoring his greetings. “ He’s outside, Admiring the beautiful view of your house” The Assistant said Smiling.

“ And why did you left him alone?” She asked him. “ You said I should come in and close the door” The Assistant scratched his head, he was already sweating even though the fan was working.

Alfred Entered the room, Grandma turned to the door because her was was facing the door. He removed his shoes and wear a flip flop which was Beside the door.

“ You decided to come visit your grandma after been in the city for almost two weeks, right?” She asked him and looked away. Alfred went in front of her and sat down on a cushion facing her.

“ I’m sorry grandma, How have you been?” He asked. “ Didn’t your Assistant tell you I came visiting?” She asked him and Alfred looked at his Assistant whose both hands were on the floor as he sat on the floor.

“ He did” He said. “ Then why didn’t you give me a call?” She asked him taking a bite of the meat. “ I called you earlier but you didn’t pick the call” He said. “ you did?” she asked and he nodded his head.

Grandma dropped the fork on the plate and called the young lady out of the inner room.

“ Good morning, Boss” She greeted Alfred. “ Did he called my like today?” Grandma asked her and she scratched her head. “ I’m talking to you!” Grandma raised her voice. “ Ye..yes he did” She stammered.

“ Why didn’t you tell me?” Grandma asked. “ I’m sorry, I thought you don’t want to speak with him” She knelt on the floor. “ Why won’t I speak with my grandchild?” She asked him.

“ Because you called but he didn’t pick your calls” Grandma sighed, she held her forehead and looked at Alfred. “ I told you I don’t want a maid. This girl is always giving me an headache” Grandma said frustratingly.

“ You need a maid grandma, please forgive her” Alfred pleaded. “ Please forgive me, I won’t repeat that again” The girl pleaded. “ You always say that. You know what, just go inside for now. I’ll deal with you later” She stood up from the floor and looked at the Assistant who was trying to hold his Laughter.

“ What are you still doing here?” Grandma asked her. “ He’s laughing at me” She pointed to the Assistant. “ Really? Why are you laughing at her?” Grandma asked and his heart started beating fast. “ Both of you should go out now!” She raised her voice on them and they both ran out of the room.

She looked at Alfred who was smiling and she Chuckled.

“ I don’t know the reason why your Assistant and your maids are all like this. You should hire responsible people because I’m so fed up with them” She said and Alfred nodded his head. He wasn’t ready for her lectures and so, he agreed with her.

“ So, When are you going to bring a lady home? I’m tired of seeing you like this. Do you want to spend the rest of your life single?” She asked him and he sighed.

“ No Grandma, I’m afraid of bringing another woman to you again” He said. “ Why? I’m so desperate to see your kids before I die” She said and he sighed. “ I’m Afraid you will Turn her down again” Grandma Chuckled, she drank the water and stood up.

“ You don’t want to listen to your grandma right? Get out of my house” She showed him the door. “ I’m sorry Grandma, that’s not what I mean” Alfred pleaded. “ Then what do you mean? Get out now and do not come back here without a girl you will marry” She said and Entered the inner room..

Alfred sat so dumfounded, he sighed deeply and stood up from the floor. He wore his shoes and went out of the room. His Assistant and the maid were outside arguing when he came out.

“ What are you two doing?” He asked them and they bowed their heads. “ Let’s go” He said and they left the house. Alfred sat in the back Quietly and suddenly, an idea came to him.

“ To the Estate” He said but his Assistant kept driving forward. “ I said to the Estate!” He repeated. “ Which Estate, Boss?” He asked. “ Where Mara and her Mum lives but first, make a stop at a mall” The Assistant had no choice than to heed to his command.

He wasn’t Happy that His Boss was going to see Mara when he thought he would never bring any topic concerning Mara and her Mum again.

“ Do you have kids?” Alfred asked his Assistant. “ No sir, I’m not even married” He said. “ No wonder” Alfred said and the Assistant wondered why he asked him. He drove them to a Mall, Alfred bought a lot of gifts for Mara and her mum and they left.

They arrived at the Estate, He stayed in the car while his Assistant knocked on the door. After knocking for seconds, Derek opened the door.

“ Who’s that?” Alfred said looking at them through the rear view mirror. He came down when Derek was asking The Assistant what he was doing there again.

Derek’s attention diverted to Alfred who just came out from the car. He couldn’t believe he was seeing the president of GI conglomerate in front of him and to think that he was there to see Mara and Vanessa.

Derek Quickly went back inside the house and came out with Vanessa.
