Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Vanessa was so shocked, she had no idea he would go to the extent of following them to the house. She came down from the steps and approached Alfred who was leaning on the car.

“ What do you want? What are you doing here?” She asked him Angrily. “ Who is that?” Alfred asked her instead of answering her Question. “ I asked you first” Vanessa blurted. “ I’m here to see My child and her Mum” He smiled and Vanessa Chuckled.

“ How many times will I tell you to stay away from our lives? Mara isn’t your child and you have no right to come see us” She said. She turned around but didn’t see Derek outside again, just as she was praying he shouldn’t do what she was thinking, he came out with Mara.

“ Daddy!” Mara screamed running to Alfred. He bent down and hugged her tightly. “ I missed you so much” Alfred said smiling excitedly. “ I missed you the most, you took long to come for me” Mara said happily.

“ I’m sorry baby, I’m here now” Alfred said. He looked at Vanessa who was surprised about the scene and he smiled. “ Won’t you hug me?” He asked her. Vanessa Chuckled, she walked away to Quarrel Derek.

“ Why would you do this to me?” she queried. “ I’m sorry but take a look at them, they both look so happy” Derek said smiling. “ What if she wants to follow him again? What would I do? I’m working my self out to leave this city and you are trying to spoil everything for me” Vanessa was so Angry.

“ I’m sorry Vanessa, I won’t Repeat that again and I won’t allow him to take her away” He promised her and she sighed.

“ Daddy bought you a gift” Alfred said to Mara and she became more happy. “ Did you buy for Mummy?” She asked. “ Yes, why wouldn’t I buy a gift for the Queen?” He said smiling at Vanessa who looked away.

He looked at his Assistant and signaled him to bring out the gifts. The Assistant Opened the car boot and brought out two extra large bags. He handed them over to Vanessa but she refused to take them.

“ Bring them here” Derek took the bags from him. “ Thanks Daddy, come in and I’ll show you our room” Mara said to Alfred. He carried her on his arms and made his way inside the house. Vanessa wanted to stop them but Derek held her back.

“ Release my hand!” She fling her hand from his grip and followed them inside. She Hurried ahead of them and blocked the way to her room. “ What do you think you are doing?” She asked Alfred who was carrying Mara.

“ I want to show him our room” Mara said. “ And who said you can show anyone where you sleeps?” She asked her. “ But he’s not just Anyone, he’s My Daddy” Vanessa Chuckled, she looked at Alfred.

“ Is your room untidy?” He asked her and she rolled her eyes. “ it’s not” She answered him. “ Then lead the way” He said but Vanessa didn’t move. “ Please come sit here, sir” Derek said Dustin the Couch, Maya was so surprised by his sudden change of attitude.

“ What are you doing?” She asked him but he ignored her. Alfred sat down on the Couch and put Mara on his lap. “ What do you want to drink?” He asked Alfred who was playing with Mara’s fingers.

“ Just water please” He said and Derek went inside the kitchen. “ Don’t you want to look at the gift I bought for you?” Alfred asked Vanessa and she looked away. “ I’m not interested, just finish what brought you here and leave” She said pointing to the door.

“ Mummy, stop it” Mara said looking at Vanessa. Derek returned with a glass of water, he hand it over to Alfred and and sat down on a Couch facing him.

Vanessa stood in front of the door looking at Alfred and Mara and for the first time ever, she discovered Mara looked like Alfred. Her mind traveled back to the day she was drugged by her sister.

Vanessa and Tiana had a fight in the morning of her 20th birthday. And in the evening, Tiana had told her she wanted to surprise her for her birthday and Vanessa agreed with her because Tiana apologized for what she done to Vanessa in the morning.

Vanessa with a clean heart, followed Tiana to a party which she still has no idea whom it was for. She waited for Tiana on a chair in the corner of the hall while Tiana wandered around. She finally returned with a glass of wine and gave it to Vanessa.

“ Happy 20th Birthday to My Lovely sister” She had said to Vanessa and Vanessa had smiled. She had no idea Tiana had put drugs inside and she drank everything.

Few minutes later, her Vision started to blur, Tiana took her inside a room and locked her up with a guy who was also drunk.

“ could that man be him?” She thought, looking at Alfred who was playing with Mara. “ Oh God help me” Vanessa sighed, She vowed not to forgive Tiana for what she had done to her.

“ She must tell me who that man is” Vanessa was interrupted by Derek who she didn’t know was standing beside her.

“ What are you thinking about? You seem to be so lost in thought” Derek Asked. “ N.. nothing” She said and he chuckled. “ I know you so well. Are you in love with Him?” He asked her and she Chuckled. “ Who?” She asked him. “ Him, The handsome billionaire who look like Mara” Vanessa Scoffed “ Keep an eye on them, do not allow him to go with my Baby” She Opened the door and entered inside the room.
