Chapter 231: Chapter 231
"Slut!" Kenneth Brown still couldn’t find the words to describe this woman.
"If you agree, I’ll go to Sienna Johnson and tell her about you and..." She deliberately paused, then slowly savored Kenneth’s angry expression.
Sabrina Johnson found herself actually liking this man a bit. He truly was quite adorable.
"Hmph... What are you hesitating for? I’m a beauty too, far better than those filthy women, right?" she giggled, looking completely smug.
Kenneth’s face turned livid as he snatched the manila envelope from her hands. He took out a lighter, flicked it on, and held the lighter in one hand and the envelope in the other.
Kenneth said desperately, "Sabrina Johnson, this wasn’t our original agreement! If you keep pushing your luck, I’ll burn the formula for this miracle drug right now! Then, you’ll get nothing."
Sabrina looked at the envelope in his hand, her smile vanishing. She asked tentatively, "Aren’t you afraid of Sienna finding out about your dirty deeds?"
"I can’t trust a woman who doesn’t keep her word. Even if I give you the drug formula today and sleep with you tonight, you’ll just find other things to threaten me with!"
"I always keep my word!"
Kenneth said, "Fine. As we agreed before: if you consent, we cooperate. If not, I’ll take my chances, risk everything, and confess to Sienna myself. If she doesn’t forgive me, I’ll accept the consequences."
He would never allow this vicious woman to hold this over him, to blackmail him repeatedly. He would never let himself be backed into such a corner.
Sabrina stared at Kenneth. Both were trying to gauge the other’s limits, seeking to secure the greatest advantage for themselves.
"I’ve never been able to conceive, and I suspect it’s my husband’s issue. So... if you can get me pregnant, your child will inherit the entire Stewart family fortune. Isn’t that a tempting offer?"
Kenneth sneered. "If the mother of my child were a woman like you, I’d rather my family line end with me!"
"Sabrina Johnson, I won’t waste any more words on you. As we agreed: if you consent, I’ll give you the formula for the miracle drug. If not, then we go our separate ways."
Kenneth spoke with finality. Sabrina, seeing she couldn’t gain any further advantage, had no choice but to nod. "Alright, give it to me!"
Kenneth had absolutely no trust left for Sabrina. He warned, "Sabrina Johnson, once you take this formula, you’d better stick to our original agreement! If you don’t..."
Sabrina laughed. "What will you do?"
"You should know that when people are pushed to their limits, they’re capable of anything! If I don’t get what I want, then we’ll both go to hell together!"
"Are you actually going to kill me?"
"Yes!" Kenneth looked at her, his expression deadly serious; he wasn’t joking. Seeing she couldn’t gain anything more from Kenneth, Sabrina decided not to provoke him further.
Kenneth looked down at Sabrina condescendingly, tossed the envelope to her, and then turned and left without a backward glance.
One wrong step leads to a cascade of errors!
Kenneth still didn’t know how to face the consequences. Now that the formula for the miracle drug had been copied, all the years of hard work and dedication by the Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory’s Research and Development Department were for nothing.
He had once been part of the Research and Development Department. He knew how incredibly difficult it was to develop a new drug. It wasn’t just laborious; many research projects took years, even decades, to overcome challenges.
And now, he had just leaked the fruits of all their successful research.
Kenneth kicked a nearby trash can, sending it flying. Pedestrians stared at him in surprise as he hastily walked away.

After dinner, Kiki took Curly out to play, while Sienna and Lucas Robertson went for a stroll in the garden.
Lucas reported to Sienna the news he had gathered regarding Sabrina. After listening, Sienna couldn’t help but laugh.
"This Sabrina Johnson, she’s truly becoming more and more outrageous."
Thanks to Adrian Desmond’s meddling, Lucas had discovered that Sabrina’s desire to sleep with Kenneth wasn’t born of love, but merely a tactic to disgust Sienna.
"How did Kenneth react?"
"He refused. Apparently, he was furious!"
Sienna smiled. "That sounds just like Kenneth."
"There’s one more thing..." Lucas continued, "Adrian Desmond is planning to buy the house next door to the Johnson family home."
"Oh?" This piece of news was clearly more surprising to Sienna than Sabrina’s scheme involving Kenneth. She paused before a rose bed, her gaze fixed on a single bloom, lost in thought.
"Isn’t he planning to return to Abyanabad?"
"I’m not sure about that."
"I see. You may go about your work."
Lucas didn’t move. Instead, he looked at Sienna as if he had something more to say. Noticing his hesitation, Sienna turned to him and asked, "Is there something else you wanted to tell me?"
"Could you please stop trying to introduce Kiki to potential boyfriends?"
Seeing Lucas’s expression, Sienna gave a slightly mischievous laugh, feigning ignorance. "Why shouldn’t I introduce suitors to Kiki? She’s not getting any younger. Don’t you want Kiki to find happiness too?"
Lucas’s expression soured, but he remained stubbornly silent.
When he didn’t speak, Sienna pressed on, "You don’t need to concern yourself with Kiki’s affairs. Rest assured, I’m determined to see her married this year."
"I like Kiki." After all these years, Lucas finally voiced the words he had kept hidden in his heart.
"Like her? How is that possible? I distinctly remember Kiki confessing to you, and you flatly rejected her. You’re not just saying this to humor me, are you? I know Kiki is a wonderful person, but you can’t expect her to remain unmarried forever, can you?"
"Miss, I know I’ve made many foolish mistakes in the past. I’ve thought things through now, so please don’t tease me anymore. I genuinely like Kiki, and I intend to marry her."
Lucas knew that if he didn’t make his intentions crystal clear, Sienna would continue to feign ignorance. So, he laid his heart bare, saying everything he had longed to express—words he wished even more to say directly to Kiki.
Yet, when faced with Kiki, he could never bring himself to utter those words.
Kiki was sensitive. After confessing her feelings to him once and being rejected, she never spoke of love again. She simply treated him with the care one would reserve for a close relative, never letting any hint of her past affection show. Follow current novels on novel•fire.net
When Kiki had fallen for him, he was still lost in the shadow of his fiancée’s tragic death. Now that he had finally emerged from that darkness, Kiki, it seemed, no longer harbored those feelings for him.
"Does Kiki still harbor feelings for you?" Sienna asked.
"I... I don’t know." He couldn’t decipher Kiki’s heart now. That was why he dared not broach the subject with her, terrified of jeopardizing the relationship they currently had.
