Chapter 29: Chapter 29
"Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present."
Abhimanyu's Perspective
"You know you should..." She paused, pulling a serious mask, "You should kiss me to prove that you want me."
"I'll make sure you never touch alcohol hereafter." I shook my head, murmuring. "I can't do this now, baby. I promise to kiss you when you're sober."
"Why?" She pulled me closer by gripping my collar. "Why don't you kiss me? Are my lips chapped?" She pouted those luscious lips that I could chew and jerked me back. "Or do I stink?"
"God! You're making it difficult for me; go back to your seat, Shree." I groaned, trying hard not to follow her words. She'll be mad when she'll come to know about it.
"No...I think you stink that's why you keep retreating." She leapt to conclusion and I gripped her both hands. "I don't stink, I can prove it."
"Then prove..." She whispered leaning in and cradling her face in my palms, I moved forward. Her eyes closed and she gripped my shirt tightly.
The moment my lips swooped on hers, my body immediately responded to it. I realized what the meaning of sparks in real words is - I had my lips over hers, her breath was amalgamated with mine. She was so soft, like cotton floss. Once, I touched her, all the cells in my body burst into life. The heat that seared in my body coursed through my veins and landed in my core, rupturing in the globe of sparkles.
I left the abandonment and kissed her thoroughly. The sweet nectar that was hidden in her mouth, I sucked it all. I kissed her like I were dying and she was infusing life in me. Sucking her lower lip, until it was swollen, I bit earning her gasp and was about to rise the kiss on a whole new level, a horn blew my ears off.
Fuck!! Just when I thought she's mine. I groaned, pressing her tightly into me.
"Um..." She backed off irked and yelled. "Don't disturb us, we're kissing."
I pressed my palm on her lips. "We'll resume but before that let me park the car nearby. Okay?" She nodded, vigorously. "You need to go back to your seat."
Smiling tightly, she plopped back on her seat and I carefully parked the car in next parking area beside a restaurant and gazed at my sweet wife, she was still looking outside.
"Now come here!" I pulled her on my lap and leaned in but she turned her face away, pouting "I'm hungry. Feed me!"
What a sinful punishment she's giving here, getting me hot for her and then demanding food. Huh!! I deserved it for hurting her.
"Abhimanyu!" She poked my arm, and I drove to find the immediate food on this ungodly hour and spotted a Chinese stall.
"Stay in the car. I'm getting something okay, don't you dare to step outside." I said strictly unbuckling my seatbelt and she moved back to her seat, "Yup"
I smiled and climbed out. Padding next to stall, I ordered one plate noodles and bought one Bisleri Bottle. Sauntering to my car, I opened the hand with one hand and passed her the plate. She dug in hungrily and messily finished the food. I passed her the bottle and she chugged down in one go.
"Let's go!" She slurred, tilting her head back. Back to road, she demanded no kiss, no answers nothing but my hormones took a heavy toll on my desires. Fisting my hand, I tried to refrain from my head from it and drove to my home. I'd already informed her mom that she was going to stay with me, so that was not a problem but how to get her tipsy self inside my home?
"Sit here until I come back, okay?" I said to her as I parked the car in garage and she nodded.
I padded inside the home to see if anyone was in the hall. Precisely, mom came in view. "What are you doing in there, Abhi? Come inside, I was waiting for you. Go and get fresh, I'll serve the food."
"You go to sleep mom, I've already had my dinner in the office." I lied and stepped down back. "But where are you going?"
"I've forgotten my files back in the car. You go and sleep!"
"Okay!" Nodding, she left to her room and I made sure no one was coming to the hall until I safely delivered Shree to my room.
Sauntering back to car, I opened door for her and mimed to come down but she shook her head. "Pick me up. I'm too tired to walk." She lifted her arms.
"You'll be the death of me!" I murmured and scooped her up, kicking the door shut with my leg and she garlanded her hands around my neck, resting her head on my chest. Vigilant and aversive, I sprinted upstairs to my room and flipped her on the bed. She crinkled her nose, getting comfortable while I closed the door, latching it.
"Here, take your clothes and get change!" I opened her cupboard and gestured her. She cowered, pointing at one nightgown. "That pink one."
Up to nose! She's worse for drinks.
Reluctantly, I picked out her gown and handed her. She tottered to the bathroom almost knocking her with the door twice and slammed the door behind her. Meantime, I cleared the bed, throwing her heels off.
"Abhimanyu!" She called and I turned to her, tiredly. What's still there in the store???
"You said we'll resume the kiss." She slurred, spreading her arms eagled. The only thing which I needed to let go of, was her noncommittal but since now, she was junketing me why would I hold back.
"I'll make-up for it. I'm apologizing beforehand because I can't restrain now." I gathered her up in my arms, sauntering to bed and she smiled, closing her eyes. Her hands were finding my collars.
"I know I've hurt you a lot but I promise now you don't have to sacrifice. I'll make this work for both of us." I murmured, kissing her eyes and she gripped my shirt, tightly.
"I believe I love my wife. You're the lady I hanker after, Shree." With that, I slammed my lips on hers, clutching her waist tightly in my arms, pulling her baggy frame on my lap. Pressing a hand abruptly on her head, I made her lie on the bed and hovered over her. She was my sunshine; she was the girl who'd made me love again. She's mine, completely mine.
As softly as I could, I pecked her swollen lips before tracing my thumb on them. She turned to other side and her flushed cheeks made contact with my lips.
"My head's spinning. Are you intoxicating?" She mumbled drowsy and I laughed, spooning her. "No, you're addictive and I'm not planning to become sober."
Nuzzling my nose in her hair, I threw a possessive arm around her waist completely aware that next morning she would be mad at me, she would comeuppance on me but Right now, what seems perfect was, having her in my arms.
Shree's Perspective
Rubbing my drowsy eyelids, I yawned and snuggled closer to my pillow which was very warm. Acute pain poured forth in my head, making me wince. Untangling my hand from something like grip, I pressed my temple and tossed around, regretfully letting the warmth go.
Feeling the pinch, I tried to blink and respired heavily as my head hammered. Ahh!! Hangover sucks. A finger message would be aiding.
An on, I felt fingers crawling up on my temple, gently massaging my aching nerves, assuaging the pain and putting my mind on ease.
It's like déjà vu.
"Good morning..." A manly hoarse voice ruptured my almost over sleep.
I hit the bottle last night.
I was drunk.
I knocked down someone.
"Ahhh!!!" My head pained when I tried recalling furthermore. Hey ESV, babes are you there?
ESV didn't answer but snored loudly, 'Ah! My head! It's going to explode. Did I sleep with some drunken picklock??'
No no no no.... that's not true. It can't be true.
Ignoring the sharp pain that shot through my skull because of the sudden jerk, I looked at the hand belonged to the fingers. As my eyes ascended, I felt ambiguous susceptibilities; relieve and aggressive.
"You slept well?" Abhimanyu murmured, pecking my forehead and I scowled, moving away. The world was still dancing for me, so I squatted slackly and he helped me out as if I was taking to bed.
"How did I...reach here?" I asked out creakily, rubbing my head.
"Ah! That..." He paused looking me intently and blew my hair back from my forehead, "I'll fill you in but before that get fresh, you need to get rid of this hangover."
"Excuse me..! My mom..." I was cut brutally in the mid sentence.
"I'd called her last night and told that you're back here." How dare he?
"And why the hell would you do that?" I asked, scuffing to him and his deviant smile dropped, he opened his mouth to say something but I interjected. "I'm going back after getting fresh."
Taking out my clothes, I sauntered to bathroom and got fresh. Well, it's good that he brought me here, this way I'll be able to pack my stuff and take it along with me.
When I came out, I started rummaging through my closet, emptying all my clothes on the bed and started folding them. Hair wash did a cure to my hangover. I hadn't planned to get drunk, nor did I do that generally but last night I needed a break from my obstreperous life.
Still gauging to get the last night's events, I finally managed to recall bits of it. Prominent bits of it. The portion where I'd shamelessly demanded kiss from him and where I'd preposterously told him about my fancy, was a disgracing aftermath of my worse of drink state.
Not that, it will change my decision. Not even, when I've finally figured out that he'll never be out of my system.
Climbing upon the Ottoman, I slid off the suitcase from the space above the cupboard and landing on to my feet safely, stuffed my belongings into it.
"What are you doing?" I heard his question as he came inside and I snapped my head to witness a glass of lemonade in his hand.
"What does it look like? I told you I'm moving out." I replied coldly and what could be defining as effrontery, he walked up to me and interspersed my dresses. "You're not going anywhere until you hear me out."
I should've kicked his balls at his audacity but I didn't know why I elected against it, maybe because I was immune to him but it was always a lie to me.
What he needs now? A slap right across his cheek!!
Shooting a tough glare to him, pushing hard not to comply my notions, I, wordlessly, started stuffing them back in my suitcase. An on, he grabbed my arm and swiveled me to him, his brown eyes glancing back and forth between mine, I was being vulnerable before him but that was not going to bend me now before him.
"Will you stop playing hard to get? Here, I'm trying to explain myself and you're doing an excellent job by ignoring me."
"Leave my hand!" I squirmed in his grip and his hands rose to my shoulder, "Have you forgotten that you've challenged me that you'll stay here and make me succumb to your wish of being my wife?"
ESV raised her Rimless specs on her nose, 'Emotional card, eh? Don't slacken off babe.'
"Thereat, I didn't know you hate me enough to let me die." I tried to cut him to the quick, looking away.
His hands instantly dropped as he raked his fingers through his messy mane, "For the love of mankind, I don't bloody hate you. Why don't you just believe me?"
"Leave it Abhimanyu," I premised, stepping away from him. The distance that crawled between us wasn't only physical, it was also emotional. "The fact is that we're going to separate, so all those words and sayings doesn't matter. It is figured out that we're incompatible and I believe it is good if we let it be that way. I have already made the lawyers draft our divorce papers. I will send them to you the moment I get my hands on them." He stared at me as if I was going to disappear in any second. I bet my gaze was same as his. He mattered to me more than I ever did to him.
"Goodbye!" My lips rolled out in a whisper.
Not waiting around his riposting, I picked my bag and dragged it smoothly against the marbled flooring. The moment I step out of this room; I was going to step out of his life as well and these both were the places where I wouldn't be coming again ever.
"I had had a girlfriend." My hands on the knob automatically ceased as his words resound in my ears. I was definitely ten seconds away from stepping out. I couldn't move and he fell silent again. I wanted to know what the reason behind his reluctance towards this relation was. There was a question in my psyche, is it going to amend whatever happened between us?
As if reading me, he proceeded, "I met her in IIT. Our friendship grew and turned into love, just like every love story. Everything was going smooth until..." He paused.
"Until...?" I pressed, retracting my hand and looked at him. My heartache seemed to surmount when I saw his devastating state. He ranged me with his vision and plodded to the couch. I watched him falling on it and weaving his fingers together, keeping his elbows on his knees and concentrating on his knotted fingers.
"It all ruined when I decided to go London for MBA. She was always against it; she wanted me to be with her. I wanted to be with her too but I didn't want to compromise with my passion. I assured her that I will balance everything." He looked up at me, "I sent her gifts, called her and tried to interact with her whenever I got time. I wasn't with her physically but my mind and soul was always with her." He spoke after a while.
