Kyle's POV;
"Rise and shine sleepyhead!!!" A tiny voice echoed through my room. I groaned clutching to my pillow and turning the opposite direction.
It was silent for a minute. Maybe she left. Then i heard the curtains rails move and like a surprise,a bright ray of sunshine hit my face.
"No..." I cover my face and sit up straight. "What the hell Em?" I say with a scowl on my face. "Someone's a little off today,what happened last night? Was the party not good?" She looked concerned.
"No. I don't want to talk about it" i look at her and run my hand through my chestnut brown hair. "If you could tel....."
"I just fucking said i didn't want to talk about it. Leave my room Em. I'm not coming down for breakfast" i cut her off and she just stared,like she was observing me or something. "Now I'm certain something's wrong. I will be back here later" she said softly and closed the door.
I lay on my bed trying to get the sleep i was getting a little while ago but nothing. She succeeded in waking me up and now i can't even go back to sleep.
I groan and leave the bed. I entered my bathroom to brush my teeth and rinsed it off with mouthwash and then i take a shower.
I sit on my desk and flip open my laptop,and the wallpaper was a picture of Ashton,Brian and myself. We've been friends since preschool and promised to not let anything come between us.
Ash.... I recalled last night's incident. He has never rajsed his hand on me before.
I deserve everything i got,losing Alexis; the one girl that was really down for me. Lost Ashton; my best friend and a brother.
I don't deserve them,I'm such bad luck.
I need a vacation. I need to leave Greenfield. I need to be away from everyone and everything.
I was interrupted from my thoughts when my macbook started vibrating,it was a Skype video call from Christina.
I clicked on accept and Christina's face popped up on my screen.
"Hello handsome" she said in a flirty way. I rolled my eyes at the screen.
"What the fuck do you want?" I raised my voice a little. "Calm down,now that Alexis knows the truth,she wouldn't want to see you again. But I'm always here if you need to let off steam" she looked at me.
"Damn you are a real whore aren't you?" I reply. "Excuse me?" She spat starting to get angered.
"You made Alexis find out so she'd dump me. And now you are here trying to get me to sleep with you? There's a limit to being a bitch you know." I rolled my eyes and could see tears starting to form. "I don't have time for this." I say to myself and close the screen of my laptop.
I took a jacket and made my way downstairs and left through the front door. I'm starting to feel hungry. I should go to Alexis' mom's cafe. It can also be an excuse to see and talk to her.
I drive to the cafe and it looks bigger and better and i could see alot more cars parked outside than usual. I enter the cafe and there is chatter everywhere and sit much giggling.
The interior looks like it got re done. Why didn't Alexis tell me the cafe was getting renovated.
I walk to the counter and spot a familiar face,she was here when i picked up Alexis for our first date.
I look to her and smile. By her looks i can tell she didn't remember me. "Good morning,what can i get for you" she said in a bored tone like she has been practicing and telling the customers all day.
"You don't remember me?" I asked and she looked at me from my head to toe and shook her head. "I was here with Alexis like a month ago or so?" I hinted and her straight face pursed into a smile.
"Oh hey you! You are Alexis' boyfriend" she smiled and gave me a croissant which i happily took.
"Ex actually." I corrected. "We broke up" i told her and she let out a sigh. "sorry to hear that. You guys looked totally cute together" she said sympathetically.
"So business is booming. Look at all the customers" i turned to look at the busy place. "That's so true,it's been like this for a few weeks now" she looked.
"So where's Alexis? Didn't she come here today?" i asked and looked surprised by the question. "Don't you know,they sold the cafe and a businessman bought it and renovated it. They sold it a few weeks ago" she explained and i was speechless.
Alexis did not tell me that her mom sold their cafe. What else didn't she tell me?
"Hey you!! Waitress #3 what are you doing chatting! Get to work!" An authoritative voice came from behind me.
"Yes sir,i was just trying to get this man's order." She told the man behind me. She brought a chocolate latte and i started making my way out. I bumbed into a chubby man and i just walked away.
"Hey young man!" The middle aged bald man called me. I'm not going to apologize for bumbing into him. He should have watched where he was going. I slowly turned to him and he continued to look at me.
"Are you Kyle Matthews?" He asked and i nodded my head. He smiled and gave me a pat on the back.
"Do i know you?" I asked.
"No. But i do know your father,i saw a family picture in his office. What brings you here? Did you come to see the new establishment your father bought?" He looked at me and my brain just noticed. Did he just say new establishment bought? By my father?
Was it my dad that bought this cafe?
"My dad's the new owner of the place?' I asked wanting to confirm. "Yes." he answered immediately.
"Where's that waitress serving you?. Hey! Waitress #3 come here!!!" He commanded and she came running. "You took money from him? Don't you know he's the boss's son?" He reprimanded her. She couldn't hide her surprise.
"I didn't know sir" she tried to speak for herself. "I'm so sorry" she said looking at me. "It's fine" i whispered to her.
"Would you like a refill?" She asked and i shook my head. "I'd like to leave" i said looking at the man and lady as i turned to leave.
I need to talk to Alexis
