Chapter 154: Chapter 154
Anna searched through the hall and found the smallest Taekwondo uniform, but it was still two sizes too big for Pop.
After rolling up the cuffs and pant legs a few times, Anna carried the little munchkin, who now found it hard to walk, out. Conrad was already waiting in the center of the hall, having changed into his attire.
Ignoring Anna’s apparent resentment, Conrad extended a hand: "Come on, let me first see how strong you are."
"Conrad, are you serious?" Anna still couldn’t believe it, "Did I lose my memory or am I just misunderstanding? Weren’t we supposed to go on a date today?"
"Wouldn’t it be better to learn a few self-defense moves while we’re on a date here?"
"President Sterling, you’ve been after Marilyn for three years and still haven’t succeeded. Don’t you think you should reflect on your EQ... ahhh!"
Anna just walked over and, before she had time to react, found her shoulder suddenly grabbed by Conrad, followed by a whirlwind sensation.
Before she could finish her sentence, the man had silenced her with an over-the-shoulder throw.
Coughing, Anna climbed up from the floor, "Conrad, are you trying to murder me?"
"If I wanted to murder you, I wouldn’t be handling you lightly ."
"This is what you call handling me lightly?"
Alright, although getting thrown to the ground didn’t hurt, Anna’s back did feel a little numb.
But, which woman could tolerate being lifted so high and then thrown down? It was terrifying!
Seeing Conrad approach her again, Anna quickly turned and ran.
"No more, no more! You continue your date at your own pace, I’m not playing with you anymore!"
But could she really escape, being targeted by Conrad?
The man caught up in just two steps, picked Anna up from behind, carried her back, and threw her onto the floor again, this time holding her down so she couldn’t move: "Anna, don’t think about slacking off!"
"Boohoo, Conrad, you jerk! I dressed up so nicely today just to play Taekwondo with you?"
"I’m not just playing around; learning self-defense is good for you."
Conrad hadn’t forgotten about the incident a couple of days ago when someone snuck into Anna’s hotel room. That time, Anna was lucky; Conrad arrived just in time.
Rather than teaching her self-defense, it was more about Conrad teaching Anna to rely on herself.
Conrad even pulled Pop over: "Cheer for your mom."
Upon hearing this, the little munchkin obediently clenched his tiny fists and cheered from the sidelines: "Go, Mommy~"
Anna grabbed Conrad’s hand to pull herself up from the ground; Conrad made her turn her back on him and suddenly hugged her from behind. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ Nove1Fire.net
"What would you do if someone attacked you from behind?"
Anna tried to move but couldn’t break free, so she decided to step on Conrad’s foot.
But the man seemed to have anticipated this, took a step back, causing her to step into the air, and once again flipped her to the ground in this posture.
"Your move wasn’t useless, but if it fails, you need to react faster than the opponent. I’ll now teach you the correct method: use the hardest part of your body, like your elbow, to attack the one holding you."
Upon hearing this, Anna jabbed her elbow forward, but Conrad, who anticipated her move, blocked it, leading to yet another over-the-shoulder throw.
And it went on ; every method Conrad taught, he was already prepared for, leaving Anna unable to succeed even once.
Every failure earned her another tough lesson.
Anna suspected Conrad was intentionally being hard on her, making it sound like a date while actually bringing her here to be beaten up.
Even though Conrad was gentle each time, ensuring Anna wasn’t hurt, it didn’t hide the fact that he was bullying her.
Finally, Anna couldn’t take it anymore. After being thrown to the ground again, she simply lay down, refusing to get up.
"This is no fun at all! You’re clearly bullying me; you always anticipate the moves you teach me. How could I possibly beat you?"
"If someone really wants to harm you, won’t they also be prepared?" Conrad asked her.
"Yeah, but if the person trying to harm me is like you, a Taekwondo black belt, then learning a few self-defense moves on the spot isn’t going to help. Honestly, I might as well just give up resisting."
"Anna, stop making excuses! Get up!"
"No! I haven’t beaten you even once, I’m not playing anymore!"
Anna spread out her hands, acting shamelessly and refusing to get up.
She even motioned to Pop: "Come over here, sweetheart, and lay with Mommy. Your daddy’s bullying us; we won’t play with him today."
"Still won’t get up, huh? Don’t blame me for taking action then!"
As Conrad spoke, he grabbed Anna’s waist, seemingly about to forcibly lift her up.
But just then, Anna suddenly tightened her legs around his waist, crossed her arms for a move she just learned to choke him, and using all her strength, flipped him over on the side, actually toppling Conrad.
Once their positions were switched, Anna quickly sat on Conrad’s shoulders, using her weight to keep him from getting up.
Anna finally won once, smugly placing her hands on her hips: "I was just letting you win earlier, this is my true power, impressive, isn’t it?"
Hearing this, Conrad glanced back at her sideways: "Does trickery count as strength too?"
"Of course it does. All’s fair in war!" Anna said self-righteously.
Actually, Conrad might not have missed her tactic.
Given the disparity in strength between men and women, even if he was caught off guard for a second, he wouldn’t truly fall at Anna’s hands.
But since he had been bullying her all morning, he decided to let her have this one.
Pop, who had been watching from the sidelines, was overjoyed to see Mommy finally win, clapping and jumping with joy.
Not only did she jump in place, but she also ran over with a ’tap tap tap’, imitating Mommy’s method of pinning down Daddy with weight.
The little munchkin climbed onto Daddy’s back, jumping and stomping gleefully!
Anna was very dissatisfied with the morning’s self-defense lesson at the Taekwondo hall, strongly suggesting that the afternoon should follow her plan—a swim.
Conrad’s home had a pool too, but it couldn’t compare to the romantic rooftop pool of the Starlight Hotel in Aethelgard.
And with the hotel’s big owner around, Anna could enjoy the luxury of a top-tier hotel’s exclusive experience.
Having changed into a swimsuit and wrapped herself in a bathrobe, she lounged on the chair, and thoughtful service brought today’s fresh seafood delicacies right in front of her.
After a morning of self-defense training, Anna felt sore all over; after eating to her heart’s content, she wished only to have a delightful nap.
She handed the duck-themed swimsuit-clad Pop to Conrad, instructing: "Take Pop swimming, and be careful."
"What about you?" Conrad asked her.
"I’m exhausted and need to rest."
Anna tossed aside her towel, revealing her perfect figure, and sprawled out on a chair by the pool, preparing for a little nap: "Besides, I can’t swim at all."
Conrad looked at her in disbelief: "You can’t swim, and you suggested coming here?"
"I just wanted to wear a nice swimsuit, I have no intention of getting in the water." Anna yawned and waved him off, "Don’t mind me, I’ll nap while you keep an eye on Pop."
After the morning’s ordeal, Anna truly had no interest in a date with Conrad in the afternoon.
Casually taking a few selfies with her phone, she considered it sufficient proof of her pool visit.
For the rest of the day, she only wanted to sleep it away.
However, her sleep was restless, she vaguely felt herself being lifted and was about to be thrown into the water.
Startled, Anna opened her eyes, and sure enough, she was tossed into the water by Conrad.
"Conrad, you jerk!... Cough cough!"
