Chapter 114: Chapter 114
Mona's POV
“Get a hold of yourself, Madison. I understand how you feel, but I want to show you that I'll do whatever it takes to see that I prove your innocence" I cried out.
“How… how are you going to do that, Madison?” Madison replied. She was already so tired.
“I don't know Mandy, but I do know that I'm definitely going to help you out. You know how important you are to me, you're the only family that I know. I was able to pick up some points from Mateo. I'll make good use out of those points, and I'll make sure that you're brought out of here” I sniffed hard.
“Promise me Mona… promise me that you won't tell anyone about what we just discussed. I don't want people to think that I'm using it to set myself free. If you ever let anyone know about this, I know it is good news, but I'm certainly going to get into more trouble” Madison stared at me blankly.
“What if it is the only way to let you out of here? What if it is the only way to save you from death? I can't promise you anything, Madison. The only promise I can make to you is that I'm going to get you out of here alive, I'd rather die” I cried out.
“Mona, take care of Baby Zee. I know I might not make it out alive, and I also know how much the little girl loves me. I don't know if she'll be able to take such a hit, but I want you to help me out. Please always take care of her” Madison continued sobbing.
“You shouldn't be saying things like this, Madison. You're not going anywhere. I can't let you die, I'll regret it for the rest of my life if I sit here and do nothing” I shook my head.
“Please, Mona, I don't want you to tell anyone what I just told you. I really won't be able to take it if you let them know about this. I'm surely going to die, no matter how hard you try, I know I'm innocent, but there is no way to prove it. You have to leave this place as soon as possible as well. If the guards see you here, they'll punish you” She sniffed hard. Hot tears rolled down her face. All I felt was bitterness, she's the only family I have, and seeing her in such agony brought nothing but pain to me.
“Madison, I don't care if I get punished. I don't want to know what will happen to me, but I just can't take it anymore. Madison, I can't do it. I can't live without you, I grew up in this cold environment, but you came and warmed it up. I can't go back to living in coldness” I cried out.
“Mona, just keep it at the back of your mind that you were one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I never had a sister to call my own, but when I met you, you became a sister and a best friend. I didn't know we were going to part ways this soon. Furthermore, I wish I could take back the hands of time, and I won't have to leave you, even if it means being a slave forever. Likewise, I love you, Mona” Madison burst into tears as we held hands with each other.
“Hey! Move aside, it's time to take Madison Adams to the yard where she'll meet her end” The guard kicked me aside.
“Please don't hurt her” I pleaded as they dragged Madison along with them.
“I love you, Madison” I cried out loud, and fell on my face.
I was still on my knees with my face down when I felt someone's touch. Furthermore, I gently raised my head, and saw Axel staring at me sadly.
“Axel” I called out, hugging him as tight as ever. He hugged me back, and whispered into my ears. “Your tears breaks me”
“Do me a favor, Axel. Let me into the dungeon where Mateo was kept” I disengaged the hug, staring directly into his eyes.
“What? Why?” He turned his gaze sharply.
“Please…” I pleaded, and he nodded his head in agreement.
Lucien's POV
I sat on the golden chair outside the castle. A big pot was placed on the large cooker, it was boiling. Of course, Mateo was going to be cooked in the hot water. If there is ever a hard time in people's lives… then this is mine.
Madison was led out by the other guards. She stared at me with sadness, and I couldn't stop tears from rolling down my face. I grabbed a handkerchief, and wiped my eyes immediately.
“Master, the field Master Mateo was found dead in the dungeon this morning” One of the guards announced.
“He got exactly what he deserved.” I snapped.
“What do we do with his corpse?” They chorused.
“Burn it”
Madison was led to standing, and her hands were tied to the pole. Her face was gloomy, and her eyes swollen. Why am I becoming soft?
The stones with which she'd be stoned were already laying on the ground.
“Sweet Mandy!” Zara rushed to her, and she smiled dryly at her.
"Baby Zee” She said those words in tears, but she was still wearing a smile.
“Let go of her. Untie her” Zara screamed, as they carried her.
“Don't skip meals, baby. Be a good girl” Madison replied with a sniff.
“No! No, don't hurt her. I would rather not leave. Daddy… daddy, please don't let them hurt her” She kept yelling as they led her away.
I held my chest because it aches. Seeing both of them in tears cracks me into two. My poor Madison! But this is law.
“At the count of three, we'll start stoning her” The chief guard said, and that rang in my ears.
“1…. 2… 3… go!”
Everyone raised their stones to throw at Madison, whose eyes were shot. “Stop it!”
All eyes turned over to me. They must be so shocked because I would never vindicate anyone.
“Master Stone?”
“Don't…” I cupped my forehead in my palms, and Bianca rushed to me with arched eyebrows.
“What is the matter, Lucien? You're confusing everyone. She committed a crime, and should pay for it” Bianca patted my back, and pushed her aside.
Glaring at her, I swallowed hard. “Shut up”
“What are you doing, Lucien? She should be killed” Bianca scoffed.
“Killed? Why would the Master kill the mother of his child?” A voice said, and gasps filled the air.
