Viona's cry began to turn harder than before. Her eyes watered, begging to stop the ritual that was going to take her away from Damien. She loved the man wholeheartedly. But the devil queen didn't stop chanting. When Viona thought that every hope was gone, a powerful voice broke in the air, stunning everyone around,

" WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"

Everyone whipped their back that way. Even the queen's expression turned pale, spotting the man in distance. She stopped chanting immediately and began to shake nervously. Upon hearing the voice, Alaric came into the scene and saw his father who went into a different state for some affairs.

"Father!", Alaric bowed to his father, the man who ruled over all the vampires. Duncan, the vampire king had begun to walk towards his queen. His eyes darkened in danger after he looked down at the black circle. He barked at her face, furiously,

" I forbid you to perform any witch spell. How dare you perform such a ritual in my absence?"

The queen licked her lips dry nervously. According to her resources, Duncan was supposed to return two days later. Although, Duncan knew about her identity, he forbade the queen from doing any magic.

Rosemund who saw her father getting angry at her mom tried to resonate sweetly,

" Father.. Actually we..."

" Shut up! I know, you are just a product of your mother's bad parenting.", Duncan shouted at his daughter, bringing his eyes back at Viona who was tied down over the ground. As soon as he saw her face, shock appeared in his eyes.

So much like her!

King Duncan wondered, staring at Viona's face in deep thoughts. On the contrary, Viona understood that Duncan was Alaric's father as they resembled so much each other except for the powerful aura, they emitted from their body.

Duncan ordered his personal guard, not caring about his wife's existence,

" Release her NOW!"

The queen opened her mouth to protest but then immediately sealed her words when she received a glare from Duncan. After Viona was free from those chains, she panted to breathe in relief. At the same time,she was a bit surprised to see that the king of vampires were actually helping her out. Standing cluelessly, she only bowed to the king slightly out of respect.

Alaric stayed far away from them. Although, their ritual was interrupted, he was involuntarily happy that he didn't have to hear Viona's cry anymore.

Duncan walked over to Viona and skipped his question straightforwardly,

" What's your mother's name, child?"

Viona was a bit surprised to hear his first question. Naturally, she hid her mother's name from anyone because her father had an illegitimate affair with her mother. The pack restricted him from taking her mother as their Luna. Having no choice but to leave, she had to hide her mother's identity from everyone until her mother died after her birth. But she felt like replying honestly.

She did what her heart felt at that moment,

" Seselia.. Seselia Brown.."

Duncan's eyes melted like water instantly. He gasped, staring at Viona's face affectionately,

" No wonder, you look so much like her. Do you have any idea who you are or who your mother was? She is my cousin sister, a royalty. After she started having affairs with your father, her father kicked her out of the household. But she was very close to me and had saved me from dangers multiple times when I was young. No wonder, you look exactly like her. I have been searching for her for years. Only a few days back, I learnt that she was dead after having a baby. But I never found any information about the child or where it is currently. I always wanted to look for you. It's so great to see you here."

Everyone gasped and was shocked in disbelief. After his words, the queen understood that she was right about her assumption. Even standing inside a vampire temple, Viona had so many powers to fight against her. No wonder, she felt like a pure blooded Royal Vampire because her mother was from their dynasty.

The queen intervened glaring at Viona whose eyes teared up in happiness,

" But she was your son's mate first and broke the bond. How can you support her? Our son is suffering."

Duncan was always a rightful man. As he looked back at Alaric, he immediately noticed his guilty expression. He retorted sharply, looking at his disappointedly,

" It's nothing wrong to break a bond. I believe that Alaric has respected her decision. It is you who has manipulated him to perform this ritual. I have already known from my guards that what you were up to. You only care about having another powerful companion through their child. So shut up and stop speaking like you did everything for your son's sake.. and you Alaric..."

Duncan stared at his son for a while then began to speak, shaking his head in disappointment,

" I never thought that you would fall under your mother's influence. Did I ever teach you to force anyone or claim anyone without her willingness? How can you make this mistake of hurting someone whom you love and care deeply for?"

Alaric hung his head in guilt. Indeed, he believed their words blindly even though he knew that it was wrong. He forgot one eternal truth that no matter what he did, Viona wasn't going to love him like Damien. But he wanted to do the right thing after realizing his mistake.

Sighing, he looked up to apologize to his dad and Viona,

" I am sorry for letting you down, father. I have failed your upbringing this time. Viona, you should head for Damien right away."

Viona gave him a questioning look. Alaric revealed after hesitating a while,

" Alpha Lucas has attacked your pack according to my mother's plan. They need your help now.. Don't stay here . Go..."

" Gather all the troops now, Celeb! Where the fuck are they?", Damien yelled, running downstairs to see his house in chaos. His eyes pulled over the door to see in distance that Lucas was grinning with Ashley next to him crying.

Damien ran outside hastily, and saw that none of his pack members were nearby. Celeb, as their commander smelt the blood of his fellow members in the air, shuddered drawing a long breath,

" Alpha... they..they are all killed.."

Damien's expression turned sorry. They were their closest people and were loyal to him and his pack. Lucas laughed hilariously, throwing open challenges to Damien,

" I fucking told you to not mess up with me, Damien. You never stopped..you never listened to me..Look at your pack now..all of them are at my mercy.."

Damien's eyes pulled over to fall on Ashley who was writhing painfully under Lucas's grip. He replied through his clenched teeth,

" Leave this innocent woman aside, Lucas..Your battle is with me only.."

Lucas was wise enough to know that he wasn't going to win if he fought against Damien. So, he made a lame plan to win without too much fight. Lucas sneered arrogantly,

" Pay for the price of the humiliation, you brought to me. If you don't accept my beating now, I will fuck this woman right in front of your eyes.."

Damien's wolf howled inside, too desperate to come out but Damien couldn't do anything for Ashley's safety. He replied after gulping hard,

" All right! Just let them go!"

Damien then walked forward bravely to offer himself a beating. Lucas gestured at his guards who went one after another to beat Damien. The guards started beating him wildly, punches & kicks one after another. Damien's wolf growled, and wanted to fight back but Damien had to restart himself for the safety of Ashley and Ariana.

With four guards joining together, Damien began to feel weak after minutes. Bruises became visible on his face, tears sliding down from his cheeks. When Lucas was barely satisfied with his current condition, he growled at his guards with a smirk,

" STOP NOW! Let me give him the best treatment that he can ever imagine!"

The guards all stepped aside to let Lucas handle Damien. Lucas walked forward in glory, smashed his feet against Damien's cheeks. Another round of blood spurted from Damien's mouth. Still Damien pleaded, shifting his eyes between Ashley and Elizabeth,

" Let them....go..now..."

Lucas yanked his hair back fiercely, blurted through his gritted teeth,

" I promised to avenge, Damien but you beat me like a shit. Now look at yourself!"

Damien smirked even though he was hurting,

" You are..a coward..Lucas.. That's why..you are using..women to win against me.."

Lucas glared at him hard and replied with a growl,

" You are a coward to admit your defeat too fast. Let me show what an Alpha can do.."

With his last words of growling, Lucas kicked Damien to be hit by the tree behind them. Damien gasped, cracking his jaw into one side. He clenched his teeth hard and began to breathe heavily but he didn't fight back like he promised. Lucas raised his head arrogantly after Damien didn't fight back.

To everyone's surprise, Lucas stated his demand, even shocking his own people who had no idea about his demand,

" Now, announce to your pack members that you are stepping down from the Alpha King's position, Damien. And the new king should undoubtedly be me."

Damien glared hard at his face and the next moment, he rushed forward to strangle Lucas but a gunshot passed through his body, out of nowhere. Damien yelped in pain and laid on the ground, breathing his last breath.
