Chapter 84: Chapter 84
Damien engrossed in chatting with those trainees didn't know about his mate's mind. Pushing his dark curls aside, Damien told them the story of hybrids in short,
" That's not a very pleasant story to share with boys. Hybrids once used to live with us together. Later, a tragedy befall and they were restricted for centuries. Because of two mixed genetics, hybrids often lose control from their true forms and kill whoever comes in their paths. Not once but multiple times, these hybrids lost control from their powers and ended up killing so many innocence lives. Before the restriction term was started, a hybrid attacked one of those council man. This leaded to anger everyone and ever since that time, hybrids weren't allowed to live in the packs. Some tried to hide their identity but it was turned worse. Once, a councilman forced a hybrid to kill her wolf as punishment for hiding her identity."
" My goodness! Are they that terrible, Alpha?", the boy in front quiered, fear crossing over their expression. Everyone liked to learn new histories as long as that didn't require physical exercises. Damien was always very patience with them. Their urge of learning new things pleased his wolf to think that his pack will be stronger along with this boys one day.
Damien grimaced his face a little, blowing his cheeks out in a serious voice,
" Much worse than you can imagine, Buddy!"
The other teen joined, narrowing his eyes darkly,
" I wish that we never have any hybrid in our pack. Such creatures are terrible. Who wants to put their lives on risk?"
Another one agreed, grunting in rage,
" Yes, they are more likely a curse to any pack!"
Damien chuckled, lifting himself up from the ground,
" All right boys! You don't have to worry! We haven't gotten any single hybrid yet."
Viona who was standing few feet away from them felt her world once again shattering into pieces. She was already aware of this history which was why she followed her father's order all this years. From their words, they were more likely hated hybrids including Damien who wanted to protect his pack at any cost.
How could she tell them that the danger was her? How could she tell them that she could be the reason behind their unexpected deaths? But she couldn't afford to lose Damien. How could she save all sides?
Her thoughts proceeded to take her clumsy steps inside the Trevisan Pack house. After pulling out the door for her, she found the dinning hall empty, assuming that everyone had gone to watch movies. She often saw the ladies ganging up together for movie, shows. She wished to join them but her luna schedule including her university kept everything out of her possiblities.
Jogging upstairs inside her room, Viona was once again lost in her thoughts, played with the tiny necklace around her neck absentmindedly. Hence, she missed the sound of door opening and jerked when his arms wrapped around her.
" When did you come?", Damien murmured, burying his head into her neck lazily. Her smell purred his wolf in satisfaction. Her rosy aura always provided him comfort and peace. Viona mumbled leaning against his massive chest leisurely,
" Just now! How is your training going?"
" Boring!", Damien scoffed out, growling into her ears annoying. His lips licked her neck where he was going to mark her as his for eternity. He couldn't wait for the blood moon day to make them official. It was the same day that he was going to give her the crown of a Luna Queen, the day when he would be marking her for forever. His love for her was everlasting and wished that the moon goddess would bless the blood moon day before the exact time.
Lost in his own happiness, he slipped a hand inside her clothes, gently caressing her perky nipples to hear a low moan from her lips. Viona moaned softly, feeling wet from his touch,
" Ah.. Damien.."
With her moan, he was encouraged to push his luck a little further. His thumb twisted her nipples only to be rewarded with another loud moan. Viona was already panting. The urge of getting sexual with Damien was getting scary this days. One single touch, she would be lost herself into his hands.
Just when Damien begun to crawl his hand downwards, a knock from the door interrupted them.
" Who the fuck it is?", Damien growled, causing Viona to laugh at him loudly. Ariana's voice rang from the outdoor,
" It's me! Luna has an emergency."
They shared a strange look before Viona tugged her clothes fixing and trotted over to open the door. Ariana was standing in blank face, her gaze flashed with worry. Viona waited for her to speak,
" Your father asks your presence tonight."
Both Viona and Damien were a little surprised since it was no secret that Viona didn't share good relationship with her father. Even they didn't never had normal conversation as family. But now getting invitation from him all of sudden made her worry. Ariana continued peering her eyes down from the stairs,
" He.. even sent someone to take you to your pack house. They have an emergency meeting going on. He asks for your presence fast."
Viona was reluctant to go but Damien tapped on her shoulder, assuring,
" Love, he wouldn't dare to harm you. He knows that you belong to the Alpha King now. You should go. Perhaps, he really needs your concern over something."
Viona bit her lips tightly, pondered over her own thoughts of whether going or not. After a while of debating, she replied with a sigh,
" I am going, Ariana. Tell him to wait until I get ready!"
Ariana nodded her head heavily and left with a dark face. She could slightly guess why Viona was called over to join the meeting in urgency.
________
City Hospital,
Rosemund and her mother rushed inside the hospital. Their guards were already outside the door, waiting for their arrival. Once they were close, their heads bowed down respectively and the queen asked coldly,
" Where is he?"
It hadn't been an hour that they heard about the car crush incident. Although it wasn't something major for a powerful vampire like Alaric, they were worried more likely upset. Rosemund glared at their royal guards, blurting in fury,
" Who was driving his damn fucking car?"
The guards all went timid as they were pretty much aware of their princess's temper. Although the siblings didn't had same perspectives, they cared for each others more than anyone else. The head of Alaric's guards replied with a polite tone,
" His highness was driving alone. We were asked to stay at mansion."
The queen narrowed her eyes a bit suspiciously after that disclosure. Leaving the discussion behind, she nudged at her daughter's arms softly,
" Let's head inside first, Rose. We have to see your brother first."
Alaric stayed up in his hospital bed. His eyes were focused in the darkness outside. Few parts of his body were bandaged carefully. As he was admitted to a normal hospital, the doctors performed their regular duties to him as human. But the heartbreak was written all over his feature clearly.
Rosemund with her mother entered together, surprised to find his sullen face. Upon hearing their footsteps, Alaric tore his eyes from the darkness. He spoke using his cold, intimating voice,
" What are you guys doing here?"
His tone remained unwelcoming, slightly irritated. Rose gave her brother a stern glare, trotting over his bed to scoff back,
" Come on, brother! We are your family and are worried."
Alaric rolled his eyes, blurting with a hiss,
" It's not like I am dying!"
It was impossible to die from this minor injuries.Vampires were capable of healing by himself. As a pure blooded Royal Vampires, he had the power of recovering faster. He just needed to drink some blood to make it even more faster.
The queen put on a smile, plopping down at his bed,
" I am your mother. Can't I be worried for you?"
Alaric opened his mouth to say something but gave up midway. He knew that he was just being rude over his family members even though they didn't do anything to piss him off. He was just too toxic with his own thoughts and feelings. Rejection wasn't so easy to accept especially when you are in love with that person.
Rosemund switched on the other side and studied his expression well. It didn't miss their attention that Alaric was very much absentminded today. Rosemund opened her mouth curiously,
" Would you like to tell us how did you get into this accident?"
She knew far better that Alaric was excellent in driving. Even if it happened because of mistake, he could have always jumped out to save himself with his capabilities. From his several injuries, it was clear that he didn't want to save himself from hurting.
Alaric gave them a short reply, without wanting them to poke their noses into his business,
" Break failed!"
Rosemund once again parted her mouth to speak something but it was once again sealed up, receiving a glare from her mother. Clearly, he wasn't going to tell anything what bothered him during the day.
Queen Layla was a cunning woman especially around her son who was the next line to take the throne. She always made sure that she had hands on his every decision so that her power doesn't get lessened even after Alaric takes the throne.
Minutes afterwards, Rosemund was sent out, going for the reception to do some formalities. After she left them alone, Layla peeled apple for his son. Placing them in front of his mouth, she spoke using her sweet, motherly voice,
" Are you going to tell me what happened today, son?"
Alaric stayed quiet, aware of the result if he told anything to her. Her mother would never show any mercy on Viona if she managed to know the truth. Hearing her silence, Layla guessed, using her soft tone again,
" Is it about your mate?"
Her wild assumption stunned Alaric for a second who closed his mouth midway. Letting out a heavy sigh, he ignored her question, dropping the bowl aside,
" Mother, I want to be alone!"
___
Failed to get any response from her son, Layla stepped outside with a grim face. She cared for Alaric more than any of her children. When the guards spotted Layla, they became silent in fear.
Layla trotted on her high heels, stopping in front of the head guard to inquire furiously,
" Who is the person that Alaric met today?"
The guards were clueless as they were stopped from following him. Their head responded truthfully,
" Your Highness, we..we don't know..He didn't let us follow him today.."
Layla wasn't happy with their response. Inching closer to the head guard's face, she blurted with a smirk,
" I am living in this royality for decades. No secrets stay forever unrevealed in this family as long as we are followed by you all. So tell me the truth! Any clue about whom he met today or else ready to be replaced by another bunch of guards who are loyal to me."
The guards all became scared and shared a perplexed look. Their pay was high for the prince and naturally, no one wanted to loose their job. After a brief silence, the guard who worked as Alaric's helping hand finally opened his mouth to speak,
" Your Highness! I..I saw him picking a call today before he left the mansion."
Layla's smirk grew bigger and she replied raising her eyebrows together,
" That's like my guard! Tell me, who was he talking today? I can't let my son distracted with unreasonable stuffs. He has important things to focus now."
The guard hesitated before giving Layla a name,
" Vi..Viona..The caller ID was Viona.."
