Alexander
We arrived at the pack where the combat would be taking place ahead of time to enable me to get ready for any surprises they may have in store for us.
I initially thought that the pack would be a massive one for their alpha to have the courage to challenge me to a fight as he has done.
But I am a bit disappointed to see that it is a very small pack, I wonder why the alpha would want to challenge me, and what he hopes to achieve.
But if there is something that I have come ro learn in battle is never to underestimate my opponent, be they big or small, if they can challenge you to a fight, then treat them as an opponent.
But I feel bad about the fact that Kai had made arrangements to destroy the entire pack, have their men killed and their women as slaves.
I will ask him to go into the pack in disguise to be able to find out the mind of the pack member if indeed they are in support of their alpha's wrong move.
Another thing that has been bothering me since I set out on this journey is Ashley.
I can't help but think about Ashley's stare of mind in all of this, does she know that she is the reason that I have come here to fight.
Does she approve of it, does she like her new life here and will she be willing to go home with me?
I won't blame her if she decides not to go home with me, I was the one that abandoned her, and even though it was not by my doing, it is still no excuse for me to abandon her for that long.
I can't help but imagine the type of trauma and pains she must have gone through all the while I was away.
But I miss her so much, my wolf misses her and can't wait to be reunited with his mate. I may be strong, tough and all, but one thing that scares the shit out of me is been rejected by Ashley.
I love her too much to lose her.
“what are you thinking about?” I heard Kai ask me as he walked in on me lost in my thoughts.
I shuddered while trying to play down my emotions, “Nothing important really,” I lied.
But Kai looked at me and smiled as if he could tell I was lying.
“Alexander, if I may say something, you are right in doing whatever you came out here to do today. It's your right to protect and defend your happiness, and nothing makes a wolf happier than being with his mate,” he said looking sternly at me.
“But what if she does not want me anymore,” I asked absentmindedly.
“You will never know if she does not say it, but before then prove to her that you still love her and is willing to go all out to cherish and protect her,” he said as he taps me on my shoulder.
I may not have known Kai for long but I feel he understands me and has stuck with me so far as a true friend would.
I feel so much connection with him, I wonder where he has been my entire life, we could have made the best of friends if we grew up together.
“ Since we are talking about mates, So tell me, what's up with you and Jessica? You seem to like her,” I said to him and my question sort of took him by surprise.
“Trust me, Alexander, I don't even know how I genuinely feel towards her,”
“Why is that?”
“I promise I will cure all your curiosity once we are done here,” he said once again brushing aside my curiosity.
I was going to protest and have him tell me what it is that he keeps postponing the conversation but Just then, one of our men walked in on us.
“Alpha, I have been told that their luna is now seated in the field,” he said.
I groaned unintentionally, as soon as the word their luna hit my ears. My groaning scarred the man that brought the message. If kai was scared he did well by hiding it.
The thought of Ashley becoming a luna to another pack unsettled my wolf and I was doing all within my power to control him.
I quickly got up and looked through my binoculars to see Ashley seated and looking so beautiful.
I felt my heart ache a bit, but I quickly scolded myself for not being happy to see that my mate is doing great.
Kai took the binoculars from me to look at Ashley for a few seconds before handing them back to me.
“Is that your Ashley?” he asked, looking at me as if observing my next action.
“Yeah,” I answered quietly
“She is beautiful,” he said still resting his eyes on me.
“I know,”
“And I think she is worth every blood that would be spilled out here today,” Kai said while looking at me as if waiting for me to object.
Truthfully, I am almost tempted to tell Kai that we return to our pack as the reason we came is no longer valid.
She was looking so comfortable and richly dressed in expensive clothes that I couldn't help but think that she has forgotten about me.
But the fact that the stupid alpha dared to challenge me to a fight kept my heart rigid.
“We are here to kill that motherfucker and we aren't leaving till he is fucking dead,” Kai said to me.
And I couldn't agree more with him.

Ashley
My eyes were roaming the field to see if I could get a glimpse of my baby, I wonder why Jason asked me to come out here this early when others are yet to arrive.
The field was very quiet and I was made to sit at the seat beside alpha's own.
Seating on this chair reminds me so much of Alexander, as flashes of the night he marked me and made me sit at his side ran through my mind.
For once in my life, I felt loved important, and protected.
Why did he give me so much hope when he knew he was going to leave me at some point?
I have decided that after today I would be going in search of Alexander, I want to see him so I can ask him why he has not bothered to come to look for me.
I was starting to see people coming in to take various seat positions in the field and it felt a bit odd that despite seeing these people talking and laughing, I could barely hear their voices.
Then gradually the pack chiefs and other key persons start coming in to talk to their seats. Before finally Jason walked out fully kitted in a warrior's outfit and armed with a sword.
He walks over to the alpha seat by my side and sat, his presence disgusts me and all I want to do is fucking kill him.
“I don't see my baby anywhere,” I said calmly to him in a controlled rage as soon as he sat on his chair.
But he smiled sheepishly as if trying to put up a rehearsed appearance before those present that all was well between us.
“Easy my queen he answered me leaning closer to my ears as if trying to whisper the words to me.
“I am not your queen,” I snapped at him, casting a dangerous look at him.
“Yet, you are seated on my luna seat,” he said with a smirk.
His words hit me differently, it was evident from his voice that he has not entirely backed down from his initial plan of making me his luna.
“I changed my mind, You will see your baby after the fight, he said arrogantly while keeping his face straight up in the field.
At that moment I knew that I had lost every bit of patience in me and was going to let loose any moment from now.
If Jason thinks that he would be able to restrain me with these little chains he asked the servants to tie around my legs, then he is in for a shocker.
The entrance of the person that Jason is fighting with halted my actions. As everyone stared at the incredible well-built man that had just entered the fighting arena.
Jason's opponent had an intimidating personality as he was all tall, well built, and looked like he has been fighting all his life.
There was something about the almost alluring man that I couldn't take my eyes off him.
I could almost feel Jason flinch a bit in fear and I wonder what pushed him into fighting with such a person.
“Your pride did get you something bigger than you this time,” I said teasingly to him, as I suddenly started looking further to see the outcome of the fight.
The fact that Jason is going to have his ass whipped out there makes me happy as a devilish smile coiled up my side lips.
“If anything happens to me out there, you can as well kiss your baby goodbye,” he said before standing up to go join his opponent in the fighting arena.
Looking at the arena and the people seated to watch the show, a naughty idea crept up my head.
All I have to do is to ensure that Jason is alive, right?
Yes.
He will be alive by the end of the fight with a few broken bones.
