Chapter 90: Chapter 90
The zombies stopped running after us when they reached the bottom of the stairs like they couldn't climb up them. We watched them from the top of the stair case as they turned around and stumbled back the way they came. It felt as if they were real, but if they were, does that mean that we're having a zombie apocalypse? Or someone was creating them like an evil doctor?
No, it couldn't be. I was starting to mistake L.A for Community town since I saw Freya Jacob and Luke Walters. There were probably just great actors in great costumes or zombies were also somehow supernatural creatures like werewolves were. Yeah, probably the former. I glanced at Jake and the others, "Come on, let's check out the rest of the house of horrors."
"Yeah." Jake replied as we all turned around to the floor that we were on and I was not surprised to see a scary clown with sharp teeth and claws running towards us from the front of us followed by a Frankenstein's monster.
We quickly ran back the stairs and to the side. The area that we went to was covered in red light and we heard a maniac, scary laugh. Baby doll heads lined the wall on our left side like hunted animals that were hung on open season. Suddenly a witch with hideous green skin and rashes all over her body started approaching us as she laughed, maniacally.
"I… Have been waiting for you." She said in a scratchy voice.
"Wow, so cool!" Jake exclaimed as we watched her approach us, still cackling like the crazy witch she was supposed to be.
"Yeah, these costumes are great." I replied as she stretched out her hands like she was going to scratch us with her long, chipped, dirty finger nails.
We stood our ground since we knew that she wasn't going to try anything. She pretended to touch us as she weaved between us before finally moving to the heads of baby dolls on the wall. As I watched her, I felt Jake tug on my hand and I looked at him to see him gesture his head forward. "Come on."
I nodded as I walked with him further into the next room that was covered by dark curtains. I realized that our friends were already inside it. Jake stretched his hand forward and pushed the curtains aside. We stepped into the room as four little children dressed as ghosts ran at us with their hands out stretched in front of them.
Their faces were pale and leathery and they had on long, white gowns. Their dark hair was spilling over their faces with large, blood shot eyes wide open. They were all girls that looked to be around eight years old. They weren't really scary, and I never believed ghosts to be scary since we couldn't see them unless they possessed a person.
They made whimpering sounds with their mouths as they came and walked between us to go where we came from, making us release each other's hands. We looked at the room to see it filled with green lights and that was when I realised that we were walking on fake bones. The room had blood splattered on the walls and some were in the shape of hands.
Creepy voodoo dolls lined the walls and some of them had their jaws moving up and down. I have to say that they were not only creepy, but scary in a cool way. I glanced at Jake just as he glanced at me and raised both brows as a smile played on his lips. He took my hand again as he asked, looking into my eyes, "Enjoying our date, baby doll?"
My own lips stretched into a large smile as I looked back into his eyes, "Absolutely, bad boy."
He let out a deep chuckle as he moved closer to me. He used his hand that wasn't holding mine to lift it to my cheek and caress it as he murmured, "Good 'cause I want to impress you."
"Well, then consider your mission accomplished." I murmured back, and he leaned in to press his lips against mine.
A large growl vibrated the ground, stopping our lips from meeting. Jake let out a small sigh as he moved back from me and looked over at the source of the disturbance. I looked over too and was surprised to see vampires. There were five of them, and the one at the front was heavily built and had his dark hair slicked back.
He was wearing a black top and black slacks with a long black coat. Whoa, lay off the black, it was irritating to see. He was attractive as all vampires were and his features was set in a snarl as his red eyes glowed and his fangs protruded. I could tell that the growl came from him.
The others behind him all had red eyes as they were dressed as old fashioned as he was and just as attractive. Three were men while one was female. Jake quickly straightened up as he released my hand and balled his into fists, ready for a fight. I also planted my feet firmly on the ground as I prepared myself for a fight. Jake looked at the man at the front who was obviously the leader.
"What do you want with us, vampire?!"
The vampire growled again, "Oh, what all supernatural want from you, your little girlfriend."
He turned his gaze to me as his snarl turned into a satisfied smirk as he looked me over. Jake shook his head as his jaw clenched in anger, "Well, you're not going to get her."
"He sure won't get me." I said through gritted teeth as the vampire's gaze lingered on my chest.
What was with this dude? He men at that he was after me for my powers from his answer, yet he was eye raping me. That meant he was definitely going to do worse than use me for my powers. I was getting tired of these supernatural attacking us and trying to kidnap me. Not only that, this douche over here was trying to also get in my pants from the looks of it.
"Are you sure about that, dear Maxine?" The vampire said in a low, deep voice like he was trying to seduce me. That only made me angrier, and Jake too.
He let out his own deep growl as his eyes started turning dark, showing that his wolf was on the surface. "Don't you dare talk to her."
