Chapter 89: Chapter 89

"Oohhh, I see now. Wow, I love her sense of style. She's so amazing!" Abbey exclaimed as she grinned, looking over at Freya's yellow-green sundress. It was understandable that Freya's sense of great fashion was the only thing that Abbey knew since she was a bimbo until just a few days ago.

"Yeah, they both are. So let's get back to why we're here. Which ride do you guys wanna go on first?" Jake said as he glanced at me, and then the others.

"Let's try the haunted house." I said with a smirk as I glanced over at the house of horrors.

The haunted house was very large and painted dark brown. It looked very old with a door with the same shade of color and cobwebs hung covered it. I looked back at Jake to see him also looking at it. He glanced at me as his lips widened into a large smile.

"I'm up for it." Sean said as he also looked at it, but Abbey looked creeped out.

"Me too." Shane and Jane said together.

"Okay, let's go." Jake said, still looking at me.

We started towards it, but Abbey said, "I don't know if I can go in."

We all stopped and turned to her, Sean looked unsure before he nodded, "Okay, I'll stay put here with you while they go in."

Her eyes widened as she shook her head, "Oh no, but you want to go in. I can wait out here."

Sean gave her a reassuring smile, "We're on a date, Abbey. I would be a douche if I left you out here and went in."

Abbey returned his smile as she drew in a small breath, "Okay, I'll go in with you. It's probably not that scary."

"Are you sure about that?" He asked, looking into her eyes as he searched them.

"Yeah, are you really sure, Abbey? Because there might be some really scary stuff in there. If you know that you can't stand it, just go on another ride with Sean." I said as we all waited for them to finish talking so that we could enter.

They both turned to me, and she nodded, "Yeah, I'm sure, and sorry for being such a drama queen."

"It's fine, we know how you mean girls are." Jane said before she quickly brought a hand up to her lips while Abbey looked shocked. Sean frowned as Jake, Shane and I looked amused, anticipating what was going to go down.

"Oh, sorry. I meant-"

"I know what you meant. I know that Stephanie and the rest of us have been really mean to everyone, and you probably got used to referring to us like that. And I want to say I'm sorry for that." Abbey said, glancing over each of our faces before landing on mine, "Especially you, Max since I tried to poison you twice."

I made a face that said, 'Why was she even still talking about this?' "Abbey, we understand that Stephanie made you do it and that you're a changed person now. So let's not bring this up again."

"Yeah, we know you're good person, Abbey." Jane said as she placed her hand on Abbey's arm them gave it a comforting squeeze before releasing it.

"Yep " Shane agreed with his mate and girlfriend.

"And you're good for Sean." Jake added with a rise and fall of his eyebrows.

Sean's lips twitched into a smile as Abbey also smiled at us, "Thanks, man."

"Yeah, thank you all for seeing the good in me." Abbey said as her smile turned into a grin.

"Alright, enough with sappiness. Let's get into this haunted house!" I exclaimed as I pulled Jake with me in a run to the front door of the house.

"Yeah!" Jake yelled as he took his arm from over my shoulders and took my hand in his instead to interlace them as we ran to the haunted house.

"Last one there is a dork." Jane yelled as she also pulled Shane to run with her to it.

As we reached the front door, I looked over my shoulders just in time to see Sean and Abbey running behind Jane and Shane. I turned back around to the door as Jake pushed it open. It creaked as it slowly opened in a very creepy way. I noticed that the inside of the house had little lightning as he and I stepped inside.

We stopped right in front of the door in amazement and shock as we saw five zombies running in our direction from the inside of the house. Shane, Jane, Sean and Abbey all entered and each couple stood on our sides with Shane beside me and Sean beside Jake, leaving Abbey and Jane at the end.

"Zombies!" Abbey squealed as she clunged to Sean.

Jake turned to me as I turned to him too, and we both smirked, knowing we'll enjoy this. We turned back to the approaching zombies, and I got a better look at them. Their skin was grey and peeling while their hair was in clumps. Their clothes were worn and ratty, and some of them were missing an arm, side, side of a thigh, leg or arm. One had a bullet whole on its arm.

I felt more than impressed with the design of the costume because they looked so real. The actors wearing the costumes also looked to be great at it. If I didn't know that zombies weren't real, I would say that they were real. I looked at Jake, "This is the time for us to make a run for it."

"Yes, it is." Jake replied then lifted his hand to point to the side where there was a large staircase against the wall. "Let's go up the stairs!"

He started making a run for it as he pulled me with him while our friends followed closely behind. I glanced over my shoulders to see the zombies running after us with drool dripping from their mouths and their eyes riddled with dark grey circles stayed wide open. I felt an unsettling shiver ran down my spine as I turned back to in front of us.

I
