Chapter 69: Chapter 69

As we walked further into the living room, we saw Leo sitting on the couch in his little kid's form and watching cartoons on the TV. He turned his head to us with a grin on his face as soon as he heard us walk in. "Max! You're back!"

Sean let out a fake gasp as he raised a hand to his chest, "Is it only Max that you see? I'm hurt, Leo. I thought that we were getting along so well."

We all chuckled at his dramatics, except Drake of course. Leo looked uncomfortable and concerned as he tried to correct his mistake. He raised both of his hands and shook them, "No, no, no, of course not, Sean. I see all of you and miss all of you."

Sean chuckled as he approached him and patted his head, "Relax, little guy. I was only joking."

Leo looked relieved and heaved a sigh, "Oh, that's good, but I am serious about what I said."

"Aw, thanks, Leo." Sean replied with a grin.

Jake shook his head as he looked at them, "Okay, enough with the mushiness, guys. It's getting cringey."

I laughed as the others started taking their seats. Mike nodded as he sat down on the three sitter couch with Alex and Drake, "Yeah, too cringey."

I again, but this time along with Jane as I walked with Jake to the two sitter couch. We sat down as Greg, Grey, Sean and Leo sat down on the four other arm chairs, and Jane sat down in the middle of the floor with Shane. Sean looked at Jake then Mike, "Okay, just admit that you guys are jealous 'cause the giant Lion likes me more than you."

Jake gave him a look that said, 'What?' While Mike burst out into laughter and said sarcastically, "Yeah, right."

"Okay, baddies, let's not forget why we're here." Grey started as he looked us over. "To talk about the party!"

"Yeah!" Greg, Sean, Mike and Alex shouted in excitement while pumping their fists in the air.

Jake chuckled and draped his arm over my shoulder. I glanced at him and his lips stretched into a wide smile. He moved his gaze to the others, and I did the same with a smile touching my lips. "So the party, we haven't hosted one in a while. We're going to do it as we normally do except we don't invite Stephanie and her clique or Clingy Cassie."

"Okay, who's going to plan it?" Alex asked as he glanced at Jake.

Jane lifted one hand as she said, "Shane and I will do it."

Jake glanced at her as he nodded, "Okay, you and Shane are in charge of planning it."

Grey frowned as he said, "Wait, we want in on the planning too."

Greg nodded, "Yeah, if we want it to be epic!"

Mike glanced at them, "You do realize that you guys are not in our high school or any school for that matter?"

Grey raised a brow as he glanced at him, "And so?"

Greg looked at Mike too, "You guys need experienced college guys like us to walk you through planning an epic party."

Jake and I chuckled as he said, "Okay, Greg, Grey, Jane and Shane on planning the party. Then who's going to handle the invites?"

"I'll do it." Sean said, making our gaze go to him.

"Me too." Drake said, quietly, taking all of our attention to him since he has been quiet since we came in and during all of today too.

Jake nodded, "Okay, Drake and Sean on invites, but you two should remember that the bimbos or Cassie aren't invited."

Sean's brows furrowed and he looked nervous as he asked, "Even Abbey?"

I nudged Jake's side with my elbow and he tyrned his head to me, and I nodded to show that he should at least give her a chance. He sighed and looked back at Sean who was still looking nervous. "Fine, but only she is invited."

Sean looked relieved and a smile spread on his lips, "Thank you, Alpha! You won't regret this, especially when I get her on our side at the party."

I grinned while Jake shook his head with a smile, "Yeah, let's hope so, not that we need her on our side."

Sean shrugged, looking happy that he would get a chance to woo his mate. "But where are we having the party?" Mike asked as he looked between Jake and I.

"Here." We both answered at the same time.

"Nice." Mike replied, and Shane looked around the paintings and vases against the walls in the living room. He added, "And that means that we've got to hide all these expensive items."

"Yep, you got that right." I said as I also looked over at them.

Jake looked over at all of us, "And now all that's remaining is the time of the party."

"Yeah, when is it?" Leo asked who has been quietly watching us all with excited wide eyes.

Jake turned his head to me, still smiling, "Since it's also gonna be our first date, when do you want it to be, baby doll?"

"Anytime you and the gang choose is alright with me." I replied, still smiling too.

"Okay." He turned back to the others as he looked over at their faces. "Do you guys want this party?"

"Next weekend!" Sean exclaimed before anyone could answer.

"Yeah, that's alright with me." Jane said while Shane nodded.

"Us too." Greg and Grey said in unison.

"Cool." Mike said while Drake nodded.

"Next week Friday or Saturday?" Alex asked as he looked between Jake and I.

"Friday." We replied at the same time. I glanced at Jake and he looked at me with a smirk. I felt a smirk also tug on my own lips. We've been replying in unison today, maybe spending time with the twins was affecting us.

"Okay!" Leo said, excitedly in his little kid's voice.

As I looked at him, I suddenly realized that we haven't told them about meeting Sebastian. I glanced at the rest as I said, "Yeah, so we also wanna tell you something else."

"Okay." Alex and Jane replied while Jake nodded, and the others looked at me expectantly.

"We met that vampire dude that attacked us during our journey to the River of True Mates. He met us on our way to class after lunch and he tried to make a deal with us."

Jake nodded as he continued my statement, "Yeah, he said that he wants us to be on his side and not other werewolves' side since they will all be after us to use us or kill us."

Shane raised both of his brows in question as a look of curiousity passed over his face and the others. "So what was your answer?"

I moved my gaze to him as I replied, "We said we will think about it."

"Okay, what's in it for us and for him?" Greg asked, and we all turned to him.

"We get his protection while he gets power just from having us on his side." Jake replied as he glanced at the center table, looking to be in thought.

Leo nodded as his brows furrowed in worry, "You do need protection since like I said the only other way is by completing the mating process, but you're not ready."

I nodded as a blush spread on my cheeks at the mention of doing the deed with Jake, "Yeah, not yet."

"Okay, then this is the only other option while you keep getting attacked by other supernatural creatures." Leo continued his earlier statement, making us all go quiet as we processed what he said.

Jake lifted his eyes from the center table to Leo, "It seems so."

"I think that we should go with him." Sean said as he looked at me then Jake.

We both turned our gaze to him, but Drake shook his head, making our attention go to him as he said, "I don't think it's a wise idea. It's better that we stick to our own kind."

"Me too." Grey and Alex muttered at the same time, but Jane, Shane and Mike shook their heads in disagreement.

Jake let out a sigh as he lifted one hand to his shortly cropped hair and ran his hand through it. "Okay, we're going to think about it really well first before giving our answer."

I nodded, "Yeah, thinking things through is the best idea."

Leo smiled, "Indeed, it is."

"Okay, now, who's up for a game of whots?" Mike asked to lighten the mood as he let a smile touch his lips.

The door bell rang at that moment, making us all glance at each other in confusion since we weren't expecting anyone. I stood up from my seat beside Jake, "I'll get it."

"Okay." Jake replied as they all watched me walk towards the door.

I reached it and twisted the handle to pull it open. I was surprised to see Cassie standing in front of the door with her face in a determined expression. Confusion also made its way to my face as I asked, "Cassie?"

"Yes, Max?" Cassie replied, sarcastically. What a rude b*tch. She was lucky that I didn't even slam the door on her face.

She looked over my shoulder, trying to see into the living room, "Is Jake here, and his gang?"

I raised a brow in question, "Why?"

She grimaced as she said, "It's private matters."

I let out a sarcastic laugh at this barbie, she was at my house, asking of my boyfriend, yet she was telling me that it was private matters and couldn't tell me? "Alright, then. Good bye."

I pushed the door forward as I went to slam the door on her face, but she placed both of her hands against it to stop me from closing it. She looked desperate and concerned as she yelled, "Wait! I'm sorry! I'll tell you."

I held the door in place and stopped trying to slam it shut. "Okay, I'm listening to you."

"I want to ask him to give me a chance to be part of your gang." She said, quietly as she looked down at the floor, looking embarrassed to be telling me. What was there to be embarrassed about when she asked him that before in the school hallway?

I shook my head, "I thought that he made it clear to you that we only let people that we trust in the gang."

She lifted her gaze from the floor and to me, "At least let me go in to talk to him."

I shook my head again, "No can do. I don't trust you being in my home, but to be clear, I'll have him come out to tell you himself."

Before she could reply, I slammed the door shut and turned around to walk back to the living room. I saw that Jake's gaze was already on me as I approached them. The others also turned to me as they stopped their conversation, looking curious. Jake stood up, looking worried as he noticed the unsettled look on my face.

"Who is it?"

"Cassie." I replied in a tight voice, showing how unpleasant it was to talk to her. "She wants to talk to you."

He nodded and took my hand, interlacing our fingers. "Let's go."

"Okay." I replied, and we turned around together to walk to the door.

As we reached it, I pulled it open to see Cassie still standing there, but with a small frown on her face. When she saw Jake, her face brightened up, and she smiled, "Jake!"

Her gaze moved to our interlaced hands and her smile dropped. She tightened her lips and looked back at him. He looked at her uncaringly as he asked, "What do you want?"

"I- I want you to give me a chance to join your gang." She said, hesitantly at his attitude towards her.

"I thought that I already told you no." He said in a tight voice with no hint of any friendliness on his face. As I looked at his expression, I now realised why the students at the school were most afraid of messing with him.

She faltered as she looked nervous and tried to reason with him, "But I can be of so much use to use. I can shoot a gun well and I know most of the underground information since my uncle's a private investigator."q
